Here is the link to the full story. What I don't get is why the hell would a 9-year old be taught to shoot a gun? Why not when she is mentally and physically matured? It's a nice thing to introduce children to self defense techniques at an early age, but considering the risks involved,I'd not do that to my child.. If I was an avid hacker before I was 15, I'd have used that to my selfish advantage... If I knew how to fuck before I was 15, I'd have had at least a baby today...

I am a afraid to sit next to grown women driving cars. Never would I participate in any event were guns and underage girls (actually also boys that young) are combined.

Guns are serious business. Bet the western man can never get enough of giving gifts to his "princesses". Want a divorce and a house - you get it. Want to play with guns - you go girrrl!

There was an incident in the USA a few years back. Guy brought his young son to a firing range to fire a machine gun. The recoil caused the kid to shoot himself in the head.

Kids and machine guns not a good mix, has nothing to do with men/women.

And both cases it was a Mini-Uzi, which has way too much recoil for small children.

An instructor should know to stick with air rifles or .22s for kids.

The girl should've been firing a .22 at most. Single shot bolt action rifle even.
A semi-auto handgun possible a M1911 or a Glock.
Don't Uzi's have a semi-auto firing selection.
The instructor should know better.

They don't need to, but shooting, responsible storage of guns and safe gun-handling are life skills that everyone of proper age and sound mind should know if they live in a country full of guns.

Idiots. People think its funny to give a large caliber weapon (or weapon they clearly are unprepared to handle) to a child or woman. It's not funny at all. Shit like this happens.

If you want to permanently scare a person away from guns, give them a weapon that they will not be able to handle. They will never pick up a firearm again and instead will probably spend their whole lives trying to get them banned.

For any person new to firearms, you let them try a .22LR or other small caliber weapons. You dont give them fucking machine guns.

Yes but that previous incident a few years back was in Massachusetts, of all places.

The Uzi is deceptive, because of it's size/weight. Full auto guns with short barrels are not a good choice for those not used to recoil.

At least stick to an old .30 M1919 Browning MG mounted on a tripod or something like that.

Did this man suggest the Uzi for her? Was it requested by her or her parents? Was his job on the line if he refused to use it in favor of a tamer gun? Did the little girl request it and the parents and the instructor were too pussy to say no? Did the parents even know their daughter was firing an uzi as opposed to a .22?

Simple gun range restriction: no full auto firearms for people under 18. Plus maybe some physical restriction, like banning its use by the small and frail.

I wouldn't even trust a petite adult woman to handle an uzi. Not to mention, non-athletic girls have this learned frailty where they can't deploy the strength of which their body is capable, whereas men can. Eg, ask a girl to try her hardest handshake on you, and it will be nowhere near as firm as what she's physically capable of.

Exactly - valid questions. She could hardly hold the Uzi as was clearly visible in the video. If you can barely hold it straight, then it is likely you won't be holding on to it when firing.

Winchester replicas and .22 would have been the max for her. While there are children recruited by African renegades, they are usually 10 upwards and use Kalashnikovs/AK-47s which have a more limited recoil and must be worn differently by default. Uzis are more difficult to handle than most assault rifles in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with men or women.

kids dont need machine guns. boy or girl.
properly trained anyone.cause use a weapon.
The average man doesnt need anything more than a 9mm either
Dont forget that Russian women made for badass groups of snipers back in the day.

Honestly..its actually easier to train a fresh woman with a gun than a fresh men.
boys grow up with the knowledge of guns all around them.. and learn bad habit as a child.
Women are clean slates and ive noticed in a lot of cases, it much easier to train a women from square one than a man that thinks he has idea of what he is doing already

Yup should've been a .22LR or a 12-Gauge (if that).

No way a kid should be shooting a Uzi on full Auto. (Maybe single shot).

Young kids shooting I think is an important educational tool, but not an Uzi. Maybe a AR-15 .22 version.

The Uzi is a SUB-machine gun. Not a machine gun.

Never fired an actual gun in my life. Pretty sure the last thing I'd put in my 8 year old niece's hands is a Uzi, of all weapons. It can empty a magazine in a second and looks like it emptied into his forehead.

Why was he not behind the child? My dad always stayed behind me in a defensive position with his hands on mine to help support me as a child. That could have helped avoid this situation.

Nothing wrong with guns but being stupid with them leads to problems.
