Not sure what to make of this.

Used to scratch my head about this, but now I realize: its an even more insidious form of hamster and attention seeking. Works pretty well with betas. The idea is for the girl to lay down solid investment first, i.e calling, showing lots of IOI, setting up dates, then suddenly go dark.

Barry my go-to response in cases like yours is simply "OK" . It sounds aloof but not butthurt or hostile. Then go silent for a week or two before reinitiating.

Ive used "no problem" in the past but no longer do because I decided it sounds too accomodating to her and too eager to maintain the relationship.

If her flake is very late or her story sounds ridiculous sometimes I use "Wow" which is nicely ambiguous. She doesnt know if you believe her story and are expressing sympathy or if you are pissed off and commenting on the absurdity of her lie

This is not a flake, doesn't even belong in the flake category. You're saying obviously you're not a high priority, but I don't see how you would even consider yourself a priority. A woman taking care of her son and letting you know she might need some more time? I don't see how that's a problem at all. She signed it "xo" after saying she wanted to make sure you were aware. I wouldn't worry about it. Just the standard "ok" or "k" would be all that's warranted. Doesn't qualify as you being blown off.

Got stood up a few weeks ago by a Korean girl on Tinder... waited 20 minutes at the bar and after sending out a "where are you" text and getting no response after 10 minutes, I boned out. Texted her the next day and said that it was a dick move and disrespectful not giving me the heads up that she wasn't coming.
