Depends, some people are and others aren't.

Working for less than 14 is stretching it, not to mention most apartment places ask for 3 months if employment and rent is high as Fuck.

^You have any experience in the oil rigs? Do you have a job already? I may be on my way to the Lone Star State in October once I finally get this ac in my truck fixed (a/c compressor clutch is not engaging). In theory, I think I would be able to live in my truck, at least for a month or so.

It's nice during the night here. I'm sleeping inside my SUV and have the windows down all day even though my at works. Just be prepared to piss 10 times a day from all the water you will be drinking

I just got here today and got two interviews sort up. Will let y'all now how they went.

Also, I have no experience at all. Just told the HR lady that I used to do construction and cleaning offices

My cousin is out there right now. He's a Landman, so he's working in the courthouse and negotiating leases. I could probably go out there, but I have a pretty good setup in SE Texas right now as a Landman.

You can always stay at the pilot truck stop or loves truck stop and take a shower. They'll charge you a small fee for that or next time you come to DFW pm me and I'll give you my old members cards with points for showers always here to help a bro out.

Hahaha, yeah. It took a while but finally, plus it's cheap. Only 55 in gas and 10-15 bucks a day (food+starbucks/internet).

Are you working m-f 9-5? Sounds like a sweet gig you got going on. Probably for labor day weekend. I'm heading back to dallas to recharge and fill out apps online.....

I'm glad too, the funny thing is the weather is nice out here. Yeah it's hot but it's dry. Dallas is hot and humid. Hey man, swing by the courthouse down here....some hot beeshes by the federal building.

I haven't been far away on the road so I just found out about the showers yesterday. Their restrooms are pretty clean. I'll be in DFW this weekend, found out on my way here that FW actually has a downtown. I appreciate your help.

Of course there is a downtown in FW...just a bunch of townies that try to act all hard big city-ish though.

ESPN Gameday is going to be in Sundance Square Downtown FW couple weeks from now for Cowboy Classic game between Florida State-Oklahoma State.

Anyways, just about every American downtown sucks ass. Subpar nightlife...everything closes around end of office hours...no places to do grocery shopping. All the cool young professional areas these days are like 5-10 minutes outside of downtowns in any American cities if you think about it.

As far as the address stuff goes why not rent a private mailbox from local shipping stores most mom and pop shops here were I live (also in Texas ) allow you to rent mailbox (not po boxes like at the post office) charge about 30 bucks a month. This is what I was planning to do.

Yes but the growth rate is similar although it's different in that the Permian Basin has always been oil producing since I've been alive. But the locals reaction could be similar in that they were kind of just a sleepy, calm, quiet town about ten years ago. Now not everyone has prospered from the growth and the increase in rents and cost of living probably makes some of them bitter towards guys who work in the oil patches. I would assume these people just bitch about it but who knows I've never spent more than 1 day there so that's what I wanted to know.
