Saw a CNN article the other day about Post Partum Depression

A quote from the article:

"As many as one in seven women in the United States, or nearly 15% of new moms, is believed to suffer from some form of mental illness during or after pregnancy, according to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

The spectrum of illnesses goes beyond depression, which people don't realize, said Stone. Moms could be suffering from a range of mood and anxiety disorders; in the most rare and serious cases, impacting only 0.2% of all moms, they suffer from psychosis, the disorder that often garners the painful national headlines."

I've seen this "disorder" case pop up more often recently and so I tried to Wikipedia it to figure out who invented this new disorder.

It makes me wonder whether or not this aversion to stress for handling a new life will be a cop out to force new dads to have to do most of the work while the mom "gets herself in order".

Would this be considered another strike against being married with children and does this further promotes the reality that the "strong, independent female" slogan brainwashes and sets up women for actual failure later on in life?

It is real, since women still take way too few supplements.

I take orthomolecular levels of it in pure form (no sweeteners and toxins) and a woman has to take supplements at that level 3 months before conception. Then the doses are doubled in month 3 and tripled from the original in month 6. Then she won't be experiencing post-natal depression.

Apart from that point the likelihood of any birth defects are decreased by 98%. The latter point is well known in veterinary medicine for decades, but I guess they don't mind for the lower classes to give birth to sup-standard-children and being in a depression later on. Pop in some toxic pills afterwards.

BTW - the women can easily treat depression via a good multi and 500-2000mg l-tryptophan daily - works 10x better than any anti-depressants.

The only women, who don't need supplements are 80-10-10 women, but that kind of food is super-expensive - they get so many vits & minerals in that daily heap of raw fruit and veggies that it is unreal:

For the women who do get depression, it's a temporary thing. Even with great nutrition, growing another person is going to fuck with a girl's body chemistry significantly.

I remember seeing stories on this. Some woman walked onto train tracks with her new born and the train did the rest. The husband didn't know until the police told him.

I bet if they did blood work on her she's a mess on all sorts of fronts. Get a good array of vitamins, a healthy diet, and some exercise.

I sound like a broken record, but if you're feeling depressed it is because you have stagnated and need something to sharpen yourself against. Popping out a baby is a momentous achievement. Continue forward with a new endeavor.

Its real and crazy. I think its also an effect of a woman's life derailing if the pregnancy was unplanned, the birth was early or the woman is otherwise naive to the realities of a newborn. Imagine if you just took a dump that ripped your asshole open and then had to care for a baby that cried all of the time and never slept. You would have to pump yourself up to do that routine...easy to do if you have baby rabies or have family all around you or are financially secure enough to buy help. Not so much if a woman is in denial about it, resents the pregnancy or is isolated.

It's hard to diet on conventional food, when you have sometimes 5% the nutrient-level than 100 years ago.

Any extreme physical endevour - also intensive sports - drain the body of essential nutrients.

I'm not a fan of Alex Jones, but here is good interview with Theo Ratliff - ex-NBA player and Dr. Wallach:









Most professional athletes have plenty of health problems, because they are draining their body of nutrients at a level that no normal person does. Ratliff himself reversed some health issues and played 10 more years for the NBA.

Currently there is already one other entire NBA-team on mandatory high-level supplements. Also soccer teams like Bayern Munich and Borussia are doing it - I heard it from a doctor who is friends with their main medical advisor.

Even during the Game that kind of regimen offers some competitive advantages especially in the last quarter. But more important for the Player - it does not cause health-issues later on.





The same holds true during pregnancy - tremendous levels of supplements needed. 5000 mg vitamin C, enormous amounts of A-K3 levels, minerals, EFAs, aminio-acids etc. Cows get it too, in order to minimize Down-Syndrome and other birth-defects, but there it costs money, so they do it. With humans it costs money to do it, since it produces smarter and more healthier citizens - the medical top-brass is not interested in that.

BTW - I am not selling Youngevity products here - any other good producer will have similar results - or even extraordinary good food does the trick too.

Interesting, good multivitamin and some exercise will often help against it. Yet by Dr. Howard's post it did raise my initial concern that the sudden change in lifestyle for the unprepared can devastate a woman that much.

Though I wonder how much that would vary between cultures across the globe with how fast the woman recovers.

Thanks for the responses. There are so many mental illnesses out there that it's difficult to gauge the legitimacy of them (except the extreme cases where the is an actual chemical/biological disorder).

This is a big one for me.

Knowing that a girl's current personality is in no way a predictor of her future personality after she pops out a kid or two.

Since women are in no way obligated to keep their commitments and are entitled to base their decisions entirely on "feelings" to the detriment of the man who married them, I simply cannot see myself getting married in a culture where divorce courts have any power over my life.

Had a buddy who had a great girl for a wife. Her father passed and she just went off the deep end and they eventually got divorced.

Do women with good looking, in shape or otherwise alpha husbands get Post Partum Depression? I'm willing to bet a lot of the 'depression' comes from women who married for the proverbial Beta Bux, and that she's sad because she mated with what she believes to be an inferior male. It'd be interesting if some scientists and psychologists with balls did an unbiased study of how a woman's attraction to her husband affected her mood post baby.

My wife had it, not to the extent of "I'm gonna kill the baby" but it was still terrible for all of us. If I only I had known it could be cured with a fucking multivitamin.

Well - not any multi - a good multi and 1-4 tablets of L-tryptophan 500mg daily (or 5-HTP in lower doses). I've been to an orthomolecular psychiatrist in Germany and he tells me that he gets almost 100% response rate. Worked on a friend of mine with deep depression within 2-3 days - as if a light-bulb went on in her head. As far as chosing a baby-mama, personally I have a checklist, which is an absolute must:

- has to be very healthy, already adhering to a very good diet

- has to have a generally high IQ and her family having one too - mother, siblings
- emotionally stable and generally happy
- has to be RedPill
- likes to have threesomes (optional, but a plus)

Otherwise you will rue the day .... will never understand it, how mindless some guys can be doing creampies left and right and then wondering why the mother of their child is moving away with their son to a different country to join the current Bad Boy Alpha of her choice. It's as if you would buy a house based on the merits of a nice front yard and a good paint job, while never bothering to look inside or do a decent appraisal.

Breastfeeding helps a woman get back down to her pre-baby weight. Women who don't breastfeed (i.e. are shitty mothers) and don't eat right are the ones who stay fat after giving birth.

Within 3 months of giving birth to our daughter, my wife was within 5lbs of her pre-baby weight - the extra 5 lbs were probably in her tits - and was at a BMI of 19.

and guess what happens when a midwife gets into a premature or complicated birth situation? They hand it off to the doctors and neonatal intensive care folks. Midwives are experts in normal births, I would defer to the doctors and nurses working in premature intensive care for those opinions. Thats the case I am talking about not a normal birth or 'oh its a week early'. More like "the doctors cut something out of your wife that looks like a baby bird" early. I agree with you completely on normal term births, its highly likely that if the pregnancy and birth are normal then the ability to breast feed is.

Yes, but who do the doctors hand it off to once the baby is out? They hand it off to midwives or nurses. And obviously they're not breastfeeding during the birth process, so I'd usually trust the midwives about that specific factor more than I'd trust the doctor.

I'm sure very premature babies can't get breastfed, but wouldn't that be more due to their inability to suckle and offer sufficient stimulation for milk production to occur, rather than the mothers inability to produce it? It could be a bit of both too.

We both know that the vast majority of women who don't breastfeed are shitty mothers. Sure, women who lost their nipples in a freak tractor accident get a pass, but women who had pre-term births because they neglected their health don't.

Breastfeedling just like the pregnancy drains the body of nutrients - some women are so under-nourished that they actually feel the drain. Again - supplements and very good food is the solution.

Breast milk has so many positive effects on child-development, that it cannot even be compared to any kind of substitute. Recently they acknowledged that breast-milk has even cancer-fighting and highly regenerative properties. 1-2 years should be the minimum for every mother - though not exclusive in the end of course.

In many countries they started up breast-milk-banks where women with surplus can deposit theirs for other women who are lacking. Even conventional medicine had to backtrack and acknowledge that formula lets you barely survive - but nevermind building a stronger immune system, higher IQ and better mental faculties.
