I've always been a huge Match.com guy and have had incredible success on that site since the early 2000's. I used to have this awesome "loophole" that was literally a pussy paradise for about 5 years (say from 2002-2007) . Back when there was still more of a stigma towards online dating, quality girls would be really embarrassed to be on the site, so they wouldn't post pictures. And since most guys are dumb as rocks and would never consider "wasting time" emailing a girl with no pictures, a quick body-type search, profile review, etc. would yield girls that were falling through the cracks with a pretty decent percentage they'd be hot, from wealthy families, or both. I was dating chicks from upper crust, old money families (very tough circle to break into) constantly and my loophole strategy was 100% the reason why (I had good logistics even back then - condo, downtown, etc).

Sadly, there aren't any loopholes like that these days, and what's worse is that the girls on Match are clearly becoming flakier (or maybe it's just all girls 28 and under now) than they used to be. Match used to be the site where you'd exchange 2-4 emails over the course of a week to two weeks, and then once you got the number you were pretty much guaranteed a date, seeing as you both had made this time commitment, had exchanged several meaningful and witty emails, etc. Now it's transitioning to more of a "heres my number", instant email (instead of girls strategically waiting 24-48 hours to reply to appear cool), and less meaningful dialogue before initial date. Then the flake rate on first dates has soared from 10% to at least 50%. I have the same pictures as last year when it wasn't like this, so I doubt it's me. I do know that Tinder and OKC have exploded here in the past year or two - I'd not have signed up for either because it doesn't fit my personna as much as the strategic slow-approaches on Match. My methods haven't changed, but maybe they should.

I'm wondering if I should focus more women in the 33-39 age range for a bit to escape the flakiness and end my drought (had been buried in new job for the past 6 months - I literally have only had sex one time during that period, my longest drought since high school).

Any thoughts? Does anybody else feel guilty about dating chicks in the 33-39 year range when you know that you're not interested in a long-term or kids? That's been my main reason for avoiding that group in the past.

My advice is to see if you can meet girls who still don't have smartphones. I started using OKCupid from 2008-2009, then re-activated it in 2011 and I noticed a HUGE difference in the girls' behavior. A lot of girls seemed to be using it to get validation or to just toy with guys. I also got a bunch of flakes which never happened to me just 2 years before.

The only thing I could conclude is that 2011 was the start of the smartphone boom, and as such girls were more connected to the world around them. Young, hot women are at the peak of their power. Therefore they have more options in life. So what better device to give them options than a device where they can check Facebook, get texts and phone calls, check their dating app, post photos on Instagram for likes and comments and validation, etc. They don't even have to leave their homes anymore to get hit on or receive validation, and there are more ways than ever to get in touch with someone. So if they planned a coffee date with you but then they get offered a chance to hang out in VIP at an exclusive club with their good friends, which do you think they'll choose?

As MILF-expert in-residence I'll drop my few cents.

Long story short, Match.com is a GOLDMINE! And I respectfully disagree with your title.

I'm 22, been on Match on and off since 16. Girls my age are few and flakey, sometimes their subscription or trial ends. GIrls 18-23 have no incentive to pay for a website when a bunch of betas will hit them on other websites or in real life. If they want someone who can afford to pay a website, they use seeking arrangement.

In other words, Match.com is not the way to go for under 26. Go with a free website, Tinder, or FB.

Now....match is a fucking goldmine for girls 33+! I never regret paying for it. I get a 30-40% reply rate and never had a flake, never. Older women are DTF and have a busy schedule so they are down to business. Guess what? These women are also paying for it with their paychecks instead of using trials or using their electricity money to pay for it. Sometimes I get so many replies that I don't have time answer them and their messages get erased as Match has a "message will stay in inbox for 30 days only" rule.

I stopped bothering under 26. Only go 33+. Some truly rich cougars abound on Match.

As to what Cattle Rustler has said, I see very little upside to using a dating site, be it Tinder, Match, or otherwise, for any girl younger than 25. At below 25, they'd much rather go to the bar/club to get laid with a real life alpha who doesn't hide behind a computer than use the internet to get some guy who may or may not be what he seems. Sure, there might be some diamonds in the rough, but by and large, dating sites for young girls are a huge waste of time and offer a terrible return on investment. At around 25, women realize they aren't young forever, their friends start getting married, and no alphas their age are interested in them anymore (They've all moved on to 21 year old sluts). There is where online dating can come in Cattle Rustler hit the nail on the head. If you want to bang a cougar, Match.com is your best friend. If you're trying to get a young girl in your bed, you might want to skip the online dating and just head to the club.

It depends, my job kept me in a desk from 8am-7pm so I didn't have enough time to daygame. Match kept it efficient and simple.

I'm 21. I don't really use online dating, but when I'm in an environment where girls are mostly older than me (ny clubs and bar), I always lie about my age.

When I pretend to be older than them or the same age, my success rate is always higher...I have a beard and girls usually guess I'm between 24-28 - I have, of course, experimented with being honest about my age while gaming 25-30 year olds, but it's generally much harder and less rewarding in my experience.

I wonder if you would have more even more success exaggerating your age by a few years or if the 'confidence factor' you mentioned earlier really does work more in your favor.

You are right, when you mention an older age they are more approachable and okay with that. They're scared about a big age gap and think it's not natural. Anothing thing is if they are 38+, they'll probably have teenage children and bust out with "You are my child's age, I can't seem to date someone so close to Billy". Here's the solution "But am I your child? There's nothing to worry about".

So you can

From my limited experience, I've found your best chances for highest reply rates and lowest flaking rates are to go by the newest users listings for sites like POF & OkCupid. The newest users are usually more keen to reply, particularly if you have some high quality photos. It's usually about how attractive you're perceived in the photos on your user for online dating to the rate women will reply.

I try to get a number as fast as possible with new users and then the rest is easy.

Long term users on the site are usually
BBW's or taken ladies seeking emotional validation that they're attractive. Even when they are taking. Like why else would you be on an online dating site if you are not single?

You're either looking for something better or seeking validation.

This is from my limited experience though. Sometimes you can find a rare unicorn on OKCupid if you're lucky.

There are pros and cons to e harmony, I have only been on there for about a week or 2. I did the 3 month plan for 15.99 per month. I put the code in the okcupid thread if you are curious.
