did anyone launch their player career without a group of 'moral support guys'?

I'm a loner at heart, and prefer to take care of the shit I'm passionate about all by myself. The game is about gaining a specialized subset of social skills to manipulate situations to your advantage, but there's a synergizing effect when you trade stories with other men.

Talking to blue pillers about this isn't an option, it isn't in their realities.

How would your career been different without your group of 'moral support guys'?

It's more important to have a support system for going through life; I definitely don't see the need for one for when you're just hooking up with random chicks who you don't give a fuck about.

It's helpful, but with this forum you can manage. The key element is that you do the heavy lifting on your own. By that I mean going out a few times a week and meeting girls. When you encounter situations, ask the community here and they will help. That's a pretty good support group. Also, if you're out and about notice guys who seem to be good at game and befriend them.

Still at the end of the day, just like how you get stronger at the gym, you need to exercise regularly. Often solo. Motivation must come from within and once you get the ball going, you'll improve a lot.

i would definitely enjoy a support group, its very hard in this game to find people who are just as motivated as you are.
It's good to surround yourself with people that enjoy game as much as you do,

That way you would see yourself grow exponentially.

This journey is rough. Anyone who believes they can do years if not decades of bad behavior and/or social programming is delusional or has a vested interested in hoping you'll fail. It would be nice to have a support group, but here is the unvarnished truth: you are all alone.

While, of course, it is great to befriend someone who is substantially better at game to learn from, there are a few problems that arise.

First, many PUA's/hustlers/playboys/whatever only value you (and me) based on what they perceive as your attractiveness to girls and/or level of game. Who does this remind me of?

Second, you don't want your wingman to be too much better than you at game, way better-looking, much taller etc... Even if they truly follow the wing rules and don't want to step on your toes, AMOG your sets etc... that will be the unavoidable result anyways.

More important to have friends that are 'red-pill' minded but around your level, and whom you value regardless of their level of game (and visa versa). I had a couple trusted sarging buddies in Denver who were around my level in the beginning (seemingly hopeless) and eventually- hundreds upon hundreds of sets later- we were are all transformed and banging multiple girls.

Now, here I am, starting back at the beginning (out of the game for years because of LTR's then -ahem- medical reasons) and looking for that support.

I've met a dude from the forum in person- JJ Roberts- very cool dude, knowledgeable, and the real deal. Others have been helpful in getting me connected in my new city- namely Germanico. But, in the end, this is the truth: I am all alone. Even if I have cool dudes to sarge with, and even if there's a girl in my bed (though it's been a while since I've felt that particular loneliness haha).

I agree- that's what this forum is good for.

I'm going to re-double my effort to get my game technique sharper. I still haven't fully internalized a lot of it.

I'm a lone wolf. I hunt alone. Except if I'm tagging along with some very good player who is also a very good friend of mine.

I have a mentor though. Met on a forum just like this and he taught me a lot about women and life. Not exaggerating when I say I owe much of my game to him. But I've never met him in real life.

IMO you don't need a support group. The competitiveness and brutality and fun of game are better discovered solo.

If you don't have anyone to talk to about this stuff in real life it's no big deal. Just journal your epiphanies and stories in your own thread on here or in the approach thread. You could always start your own blog.

Just do yourself a favour and don't isolate yourself from everyone because they don't understand or share similar views. You still need social contact in person to avoid becoming neurotic and descending into madness or obsession with game.

Remember why you got into this--to have more fun and have a good time with a variety of women.

Besides the guys my age I go out with to game, I have a support group like this with 5 other RVF members around my age (college), we've been chat every day on Skype for over a year now. I'd highly recommend something similar, when you have a long term friendship with them and build a lot of trust the level of value it offers surpasses any internet forum.

Oh yeah hanging out with guys that were 100% about this life definitely had a great impact on my game. I used to live with these two guys (actually only one of them lived with me, the other one used to come see us all the time) that were all about approaching women and trying to bang them. They were totally fearless and would approach women anywhere any time. I used to approach women before that but usually I was more confident when I was drinking, these guys didn't drink alcohol at all and the women we used to approach were surprised that none of us drunk alcohol. It's just rare for you to see guys approaching like crazy day or night and they don't take any alcohol or do drugs.

They never read anything about game or red pill but their principles were so red pill that if one of you ever meet them, you would think they are part of this forum (I have actually asked them to join the forum but they can't be bothered).


Support group for gaming is good specially when you have a bunch of cool guys with you and they believe in your abilities. But this is not something that I would look for on the internet.

Not sure what stage I'd be at had I not met an older player friend, but I definitely think it helps especially when just getting going. For me I was already coming to my own conclusions/truths and just happened to meet him at the right point in my life.

Now that I've moved, I've become friends with another "truther" and player. I think once you find your way, you tend to meet others and build the strongest bonds with them.

I had a support group when I started out. They turned out to be my best friends. One of them also taught me about business. Now we all pretty much run our own businesses together, travel together, and pull girls together. We started off as a bunch of broke pussies, but now things have turned around 180.. Without a support group none of this would have been possible. Don't let your ego get in the way... get a support group. It's THE most important things to your success.

I feel like something like this would be beneficial for me.

When I was studying in University getting into the game, I had friends who used to play the field and were great for support. They had decent game, understood the dynamics of women and were great wingmen too.

These days, after graduating from university and working the last couple of years, a lot of my university friends have quit the game, settled with girls, or just gone off the radar. Their spare time has diminished and their motivation to game has eased too. In terms of success, things have improved for me since University, but the support and camaraderie is something I admit that I miss greatly.

However, despite this, I've had great moments overseas running game solo in non-english speaking countries and meeting guys who are veteran players giving the most invaluable support and knowledge towards their women, which is something I can't speak highly enough for!
