Lighter then Halley Berry. I'm staying in Washington Heights and its nothing but light skinned Dominicans. Every day as it gets warmer I see more and more hotter girls.

As we speak the Black guy staying in this apartment is banging some Asian chick. Played her 2 songs on the guitar and is now smashing, its like a fool proof method for this dude......Three out of the five nights I have been here he has smashed new girls. As a black guy who has visited the Heights frequently, If it wasn't for my interactions with Dominican women in Philly and the information on this forum I wouldn't have a desire to go to DR.

The encounters I've had with Dominican women in the Heights have been borderline racist.... It was odd to see women (and men) so entrenched into rap culture but think negatively of black people.

But because of this forum (Pitt especially!), friends and Dominicans from my city I know that all those good looking women from the Heights are in large abundance on the island and they don't have the same hang ups.

I can't wait to get over there

Yes the racism is shameful.

However, Pitt is not what folks here would consider Black. He would be considered standard mixed dominican. Perhaps he has even less black than average here. To me he has more of a native american look.

From what I have heard and seen here, truly dark skinned black folks will experience discrimination in the DR. Whether its dating or getting a job. However, a foreigner should do better in the dating realm (from what I hear). Though I imagine with the lighter skinned upper middle class girls there could be issues. However, from what I hear Black foreigners have an advantage with Euro girls in the DR.

I even met one Haitian who had lived in europe and spoke english who was a bit of a gigolo. He would ask for donations to "help out" from the Euro girls he was banging. I think he said one gave him more than $100 one time.

The driver seems more on the white side to me. He almost appears arabic or something. But of course, like most folks here, he probably has a little of everything.

Basics:

1. Spanish = white european + arabic/mediteranean
2. Black = African
3. Native American
4. Dominican = all the above

So most people here have at least a little of 4 different continents.

Dominicans don't like to be reminded of their African heritage even though 90% of them have it, so what? - they still know they are one of the 50 shades of black. I don't read so much, - I see them every day on the street, in shops, everywhere. I agree that for a foreigner, skin color is not that important. I certainly don't get much special treatment for being white. But I just don't see hardly any lighter skinned dominicanas in public with true black dominicans. I have no doubt that the black dominicans guys get laid a lot. But its hard to prove.

I won't go into the same level of detail but here is my wrap up of my time in the Dominican Republic. After hitting the ground running my last week in the DR was slower but interesting nonetheless.

I was making out with a girl on my bed and she says “I need to tell you something.” Heart. Stopped. “I’ve never done it before. I’m a virgin.” WTF! This is the DR. Finding a girl without a kid is nigh on impossible.

I believed her though. She was a sweet gal. She cleaned my place and cooked me dinner. I told her she should wait. Call me beta.

I spent most of my last week with the only girl that I had a connection with. She was lighter skinned, had freckles and big tits. She was a tough nut to crack and that made me want her more. The only girl I met during my 3 weeks in the DR that I would consider girlfriend material.

Here are some reflections from my time in the DR. Some of these have already been mentioned by guys who have spent a lot of time there but hopefully guys who are thinking of going will find something useful:

-To get the top-tier girls you need: game, Spanish skills and time. You need to be living there at least a month or longer so you can start dating and building a social circle. Don’t expect to do it in two weeks. I was racing against the clock banging quasi-barrio chicks most of the time.
-Accept the bad with the good. The girls unreliable, will flake a lot, they’ll call/message you 20 times a day because they have nothing better to do and after knowing them for 2 days they’ll say that they are already in love and they want you to be their boyfriend.
-I never felt unsafe. Granted I was staying in an affluent area , I don’t flaunt expensive stuff, I walk around with my chin up and I’m fluent Spanish. I’m probably naïve and bad stuff does happen but that was my experience.
-The darker her skin tone the easier she’ll be.
-As nacimiento said- have fun stuff to do. Take Spanish lessons, bachata lessons, travel around etc. I banged 4 girls in my first 5 days and it got old. Respect to 20nation for being able to do it for a whole month.
- Don’t be too suspicious and cheap but don’t be a fool either. A lot of people will try to screw you because you’re a gringo so be vigilant. But….invite a girl to dinner, pay her cab and you will probably get the bang. Find the middle financial middle ground.
-You’ll get stared at and be careful crossing the roads.

One final story…

‘The Punta Cana Buzzer Beater’
I arrived in Punta Cana at 10am with my flight leaving at 4pm. What am I going to do with this time? Read?

I whatsapp a girl from my pipeline and she’s not doing anything (typical Dominican girl “just lost my job last week”).

We agree to meet up at a bar. I order a watermelon juice. Fresh juices are so cheap in the DR. Love it.

I tell her my flight is leaving at 4 and feed her some crap about jet-lag, flying across time-zones, can’t sleep on a plane, red-eye flights etc. and that I need to rest before my flight. She’s never been on a plane I don’t think and doesn’t question me.

She says I can’t rest at her place because she lives with her sister so I go to plan b and start looking for a room.

I go to the hostel and tell her to wait downstairs while I go negotiate. I tell the front desk that my plane is departing in a few hours and that I need to crash for a couple of hours. I get the room for the afternoon and negotiate the price down.

I sneak her in the room, set the alarm on my phone for 2.30 and collapse on the bed and pretend to be exhausted.

She joins me on the bed and we bang twice before my alarm goes off. I grab my suitcase, walk out with her and get disapproving looking form the cleaning lady and head to the airport.

I get on the plane and drift off with a slight grin on my face as I listen to all the white people around me complain about their first world problems.

I probably dreamt about my next trip to the DR.

I think every visitor here should try to plan on making 2 trips within 6 months if possible.

It seems like that would be a good strategy for dating higher quality girls. You will not feel so rushed because you know you will see them next time and probably get much further with them then.

And you can tell them ahead of time the exact dates you will be back (if you know them). Just knowing exactly when you will be back could help you a lot. I remember when I went for a 2 weeks trip to the US my girls kept asking me the exact dates of my departure and return.

If you make DR part of your life, so that it will be a regular vacation spot, it should help. Because so may girls here never have a completely steady boyfriend. So you should be able to come back to meet the same girls year after year. It seems like the DR is even more of a friends with benefits culture than the US is.

Fellas, I need some help. These questions have probably all been answered a million times, but there's so much info on the DR on here, it's tedious to go through all the threads, or even this thread alone.

I'm headed to the DR for almost two weeks. My first week will be in Santo Domingo alone, my second will be in Punta Cana with a bunch of friends.

I'm thinking of maybe staying in a hostel in SD just because I'll be alone and only have one week there. Hostels really aren't my style, but it seems to be my best option. I could at least hopefully find some people to roll with in town. I'm totally winging it. Does anyone have any hostel recommendations for me?

I have a pretty fat bank roll for the DR. I have $2000 total for less than two weeks and already have my place in Punta Cana paid for, so even if I do end up finding some strange, there would be no problem with paying for a place to take her.

Anyone on the forum gonna be in town 5/22-5/28? Any advice or pointers anyone can give me. I'm definitely gonna do some more research in this thread and others, but anything that stands out would help.

What is/are the best area(s) to stay in? And any recommendations for bachata or salsa lessons would be highly appreciated.

I'm not gonna pipeline in advance, because I'll be in cuba for two weeks and it sounds like Internet is a pain in the ass there. Normally I would on a trip like this, but it just seems like a lost cause if I'm basically not gonna be able to communicate for the two weeks leading up to my arrival.

Any info on Punta Cana would be appreciated as well if there are any tips that you can think of I must know, but I'll be with 4 other friends. I imagine we'll be able to make our own fun, but it would be cool to hit the ground running. My friends are all pretty much amateur travelers but one, and he isn't well versed at all on Latin America, and what he does know of it is Costa Rica and other tourist areas. Basically, he has no clue. I'm the only one who speaks Spanish, but we've got some strong game and good looks as well with this crew and are a bunch of fun dudes, so I expect with a point in the right direction, we should be able to do some damage. We are all a bunch of white boys with an exception of one guy, but I'm guessing in Punta Cana that won't be a huge advantage as it seems to be pretty touristy.

I stayed at Plaza Toledo Bettyes Guest House
163 Isabela Catolica, Zona Colonial for a week. I wanted to move because of the no guess rule but I had the two floors to myself for 10-12 a night. If you do stay at betty's..You can find love motels or better yet the cabanas are really great place to take girls. ( They really get wild ) Go after 11pm or 12 you can get it for the rest of the night. ( 500pesos)

You should try to line up a decent room in a hostel or hotel. Or better yet, rent a room in an apartment away from the tourist zone (check airbnb and stay in the central or west side of town, not on the east side across the river). I stayed in hostal casa grande. Its very central in the tourist area. I recommend the rooms there if you just need a place to crash. It has a nice courtyard.

Unless you are very built, good looking, amazing game, you should pipeline. You can get laid without it, but its just so much easier online....

Hostel (Hostal) casa Grande is pretty damn laid back. I am friends with the manager and hang out there sometimes. I brought girls to my dorm bed many times.

As for the East Side... just don't step outside your door unless its straight into a Taxi. So I hear... And I have been there a few times and it seemed pretty poor. There are nice places there for sure, but again, don't walk around. Hard to entice a chick to go on a date with you on the East Side. You do want to have a girl come near your apartment, don't you?

I'm trying to book our trip for August 18-24th in Puerto Plata but I'm not having much luck with places to stay. I've emailed a few managers in regards to their policy on having guests and still waiting, but can anyone offer some places to stay in this area? It's 4 of us traveling and generally when we go to other countries, we have our own bedroom. I'm not looking to finalize everything until after my Miami trip at the end of May but any help would be greatly appreciated.
