I got a Toyota Celica around 2 years ago on Craigslist for 5k and so far so good, it's 4 cylinder so its not bad on the gas.

Honestly I'd go with this car if I were the OP. Sporty/looks cool especially if lightly modified. Cheap (on gas/repairs etc).

Honestly I love the Charger. RX 8 is a cool car but is high maintenance coz of the rotary engine. Just test drove an MX 5 today and its not as fun as it looks. Felt like I was trapped in a cabin of a WW2 era fighter. haha.

It's a great car, very low maintenance but that is true the interior leg space and room is not the best. I'm 5'10 ish and I sometimes have trouble with my legs or my head almost banging the top, but overall nice affordable compact car. Also my celi is a semi-automatic and has paddle shifters, nice feature but not very practical.

It has a sporty look and for the average girl that's enough it's not embarrassing to roll up in but not ballsy enough to impress someone that knows about cars. Living in LA it's a nice car to get around in.

Yes it's not the best for banging but it can happen just ask me. You'll probably receive complaints by the girls and they'll offer to pay a hotel instead, or you can always make them stick their head out the moon roof

Anyone here own an Infinity G35/G37,,,ive been looking at these and the prices seem pretty practical. Built by Nissan, right? So the should be pretty sound/reliable mechanically.

I've always loved Jeep Wranglers but they are shit on gas, you can get better gas mileage out of most other SUV's twice it's size. I always wished they'd come out with a 4banger for the Wrangler. I know it kinda defeats the point of a rugged vehicle but lets be real, 99% of people will never take their wranlger off pavement so why not come out with a street model thats better on gas.

Other thing about Wranglers, they seem to hold their value pretty well in the used market. I was helping a gf look for one a while back and you find people asking like 5K for a 10 year old wrangler with like 180K on it.

I picked up a elantra last year, nothing to write home about but they actually do look kinda sporty no longer just an economy car look, great on gas, and can't beat hyundais warranty. I gotta get a fun car or weekend car though. That was the plan although now someone on this forum who posted yesterday has be looking at cargo vans to convert now

your car looks in good condition. i'm not able to find that many in austin.
ive done banging on the backseat and drivers seat but never had her head through the moon roof. now that you've mentioned it i might just buy a rental to put a checkmark on that fantasy. hahaha.

They are pretty reliable, same motor as 350z, 03-04 3rd gear syncros can have issues, and occasionally passenger window motor will go out. usually go for (03-04) 7k-13k (06+) find one with no mods or very light mods.

I'm in the market for a used car as well. Budget - preferably $4k or less.

Priorities - reliability, low maintenance cost, gas mileage.

Last year a friend of mine bought a 2000 Chevy S10 for around $2,000.00 - he's probably put 10,000 miles on it since without issue.

The secret to good mileage on a wrangler is to buy the SE model with the 4 cyl (pictured above). However only get the 2003-2006 models, the older ones have a shit AMC 4 cyl that has no power or efficiency.

In 2003 it was replaced with the 2.4L chrysler powertech which has more HP and better mileage.

Unfortunately they killed off the 2.4L in 2006 and all the new ones either have the V6 or that new "pentastar" neither of which come close to the mileage I get with my SE.

22 MPG Highway (think of what kind of wind drag builds up when driving a brick down the highway at speed)

I'm thinking about getting a 95-97 Accord when I go back home. I've always loved the bodies and ill break even after selling my current ride then tuning it up, new tires, detail job, paint job, etc. I'm putting at least 300,000 miles on that bitch I buy one. Maybe more if its treating me good.

Shop around Houston if Austin sucks. I know someone who had to come here from San Antonio because they couldn't find a Lexus in a certain color. So many damn cars around. I always sell mine within a few days and find a new one over the weekend.

I've finally decided on a Ford Mustang between the years 2000-2004, Convertible. I'm able to find it between the range of $4000 to $6000.

Yeah I've noticed that in Austin the variety is limited . Most of the cars I see are in the suburbs of Austin and going there costs me almost a $100 in cab. I might just come to Houston and shop around.
