Cardio is never gonna make you lose fat.
This is simply wrong.
Great rebuttal.
High-Intensity Interval Training: Perfect and obviously also good for your cardiovascular system.
What people generally call cardio (e.g. long distance running): Bad.
Briefly:
1. You barely burn calories for the time spent.
2. Your appetite increases, thereby inducing increased caloric intake.
3. Raises cortisol, a stress hormone you do not want.
4. Lowers testosterone and HGH, anabolic hormones that you do want.
In contrast, resistance training (pumping iron) burns many calories in a short time, and burns many more calories while you sleep to rebuild your body. In addition, it pumps up your anabolic hormones.
P.S. This thread is about Weightlifting and Attraction. Let's get back on topic.

RE: Is There A Point Of Diminishing Returns On Weightlifting And Attracting Girls?
In past I did 6 and 10 mile runs three or four times a week without losing any flab, only when restricting total caloric intake by having my portions rationed out (Army) or avoiding high carb and sugary foods did I begin to notice changes in the waistline. It's a lot easier to skip breakfast than to go on a conditioning run.
As for 'shit food' tell that to former welterweight champ and McDonalds patron GSP, or the worlds strongest man Mariusz Pudzianowski:
Quote: My energy comes from my diet. Breakfast is 10 eggs and two to three pounds of bacon. Between meals, I eat lots of candy. In the morning, it will be several 3 Musketeers and/or Snickers bars; I need them for energy. Lunch, at 1 or 2 PM, is a double meal of a Polish pork chop, sauerkraut and potatoes. An hour later, I work out, then take lots of supplements: magnesium, creatine, amino acids, all that stuff, and more chocolate. Dinner is whatever meat I can grab—steaks, pork chops, bacon—plus more sauerkraut and potatoes. At 9 or 10 PM, I work out again. Afterward, I have a protein shake and more chocolate. At 3 or 4 AM, I wake up and have more chocolate, then go back to sleep until morning.

Caloric deficit is what makes you lose fat. If you create it via cardio, then you will lose fat. In your reply your shifting the argument from your previous statement "Cardio is never gonna make you lose fat." which is extreme statement to arguing that it is not an optimal way to lose fat. Your first argument is wrong (caloric deficit is what matters, whether it is created by eating less or increasing maintenance calories) and the second one is a matter of debate.
But this is OT for this thread, so there's no point in continuing to argue about this.

RE: Is There A Point Of Diminishing Returns On Weightlifting And Attracting Girls?
Girls are such a large category, and for any subset there are niches. Hipster and nyc type yoga girls usually don't view a guy who clearly worked out for hypertrophy as a "catch". They probably would be in the "would bang" category, but any okc girl with "kaftka on the shore" as an answer is not looking for a swole dude.
Hypertrophy, and affliction tees and GTL types are not sought after at all in the circles I frequent.

I think this guy, from the "call me maybe" video, would do better than the OP video dude, actually among most women, forgetting niches. Bitches love tats these days. And anything much past his size, which is not tiny is not going to have the widespread appeal. And definitely hurts in some niches.

Generalization and assumptions. And what is a "catch"? Their future husband? This thread is about attracting women, not wifing them.
Quote:They probably would be in the "would bang" category,
Your a denialist, yet you just confirmed that hypertrophy and being muscular is attractive. You're contradicting yourself.
Quote:but any okc girl with "kaftka on the shore" as an answer is not looking for a swole dude.
Again assumptions. You claim that swole dudes would be in the would bang category, but not a "catch". A "catch" is based on the attitude, mutual interests, and overall personality of a person. "Would bang" is based on attractiveness. They do not have to be mutually exclusive as you are implying.
Is a skinny dude that reads kafka on the beach while wearing a fedora and sipping sangria more of a catch than a swole dude that reads kafka on the beach while wearing a fedora and sipping sangria?

Now your stereotyping muscular guys as GTL/Affliction/Jersey shore guys.
Overall, weak argument.

Ha- the swole dude reading Kafka in the fedora sipping sangria sounds like a much more gay image than a skinny guy doing it.
This is all tribal shit. Girls are going to go for the guy from the tribe they associate with.
In modern/"developed" society, having muscles is a fashion move (aside from the obvious health benefits of staying in shape). Even within the having muscles style, there are different categories:
Their are huge bulky guys, there are ottermode guys, construction-worker look, etc.
