Somewhat, for iOS. Might want to post this over in the "Lifestyle" forum, there's a few threads on programming/apps/startups over there.

Who's to say some anonymous Indian online on the other side of the world wouldn't run off with your idea? Even if he signs a non-disclosure form I wouldn't feel protected.

so it's better to you ask to your parents to develop your android app or teach android to someone you really trust

because if you think seriously, anyone can do what you are afraid for (run off with your idea)

do you have plans to make a non-disclosure form?

I'd advise you against paying someone for it - if any bugs appear you'll have to pay someone again and, unless you are loaded, keeping the app bug-free and updated to support all hardware and software is gonna be a pain in the ass.
You could go to xda - it's the best forum for androids and you can either learn to code there or find someone who knows how to code to write it for you.

Check out my thread Essential android tools for modern players and alphas to find out how to make your android phone your wingman, or click here and scroll down if you only need to root it.

XDA is an excellent website. I've been a frequent member there for 5 years now and for the most part everyone is very friendly and does it because either they want to use the app/ROM them self or because they just love to code. I recommend looking for someone there.

No indian is going to run off with your idea. All they want to do is get paid.

Let me get this straight. You want someone to make an app for you for FREE? HAH

So you want OP to spend 2+years of his life learning how to code and make an app that may or may not work out?

-_-

People on XDA would do it if they agree it is a good idea. Also, it does not take anywhere near a year to learn to code and android app.

It's mostlly java, html, css, or variants of the prior. It could easily be done from looking at tutorials or using one of the many websites that instruct you how to code. I easily familiarized myself with CSS, CSS3, HTML, and HTML5 in two weeks and built a business website in that time. Granted I had already learned java, but still.

Java, html, css, Objective-C, php or another serverside, design, user experience, cross browser and device compatibility, security. And thats just to get the app made without it being super buggy and running smooth on all devices. You still then have to market it.

Saying it does not take anywhere near a year to learn to code an android app is giving a false impression.. ok you can make a weather app or a calculator in a month maybe less by following tutorials. But being able to build your own idea takes alot of time.

RE: android/ios app idea, need someone who can make it
I would strongly recommend you just hire somebody if you can't do it yourself. Most ideas really won't cost that much to do in india via Elance / odesk if you are smart about hiring well regarded companies and you make very detailed specs. Sure, there may be maintenance costs and undoubtedly, there are things you forgot to put in the specs that will will cost you something down the road, but not having a partner is a huge benefit because you can do it your way, without constantly butting heads or bearing down on your unpaid programmer partner.

Plus, getting somebody to code it "for equity" leads to all kinds of problems down the road. They end up resenting you because more than likely they are busting their ass to code while you seem to be not contributing much. Regardless if that is true or not, many developers end up getting that sinking feeling and I have seen numerous numbers of these "idea man + coder" relationships fail. I have also seen, ink freshly singed on the contract, the tech lead start with a bang and fade with a whimper, as a month down the road they get too lazy / distracted / or better paying offer and can no longer work on your idea but they may still string you along telling you its going great! Regardless of how its going you already gave them equity via your contract so it becomes tough to separate. Sure there are all kinds of things you can put in there about awarding equity on completion of certain milestones etc but they will more than likely demand some percentage up front, and who knows if it will work out. But they will always own a piece of your company if you go this route.

Lastly, and most importantly for me, I just can't justify the cost of "free" or "for equity" work. Say your idea is really good (which all founders must think or they wouldn't execute) and your meager company can actually bring home the bacon. If you give say 20-40% equity to your tech partner (or god forbid, 50%) - and your idea just turned into a $million+ dollar idea, guess how much you just paid somebody to implement it? could be 500k or more for something that would have cost you $5-10k to develop in india. That is not a bargain. If you really believe in your idea, bootstrap your way to a working prototype anyway you can, but retain 100% ownership at all costs. You will need all that equity down the line to play with the big boys (Angels and VCs if you go that route). Beg and borrow money from friends and family or credit cards to make it happen if you need to.

Fair. I got the impression from what the OP said that it was simple and it was just that he gets the functionality from it. Polished, other devices, and marketability are a whole different ballgame. He didn't seem terribly interesting in marketing it just using it.
