Can you please give a little more details about the logistics?
For example:

Did you book your hotels in advance?
Did you also stay in hostels?
What was your general approach towards planning this trip?
Was there a reason you stayed only for two weeks?
When/how did you book your flights, did you use one airline or did you shop around?
What was your mode of transportation once you were there?

Hahaha, that pic was taken during the Rainy season. The local boatmen told me that during the summer months, the water is even more crystal clear due to less powerful currents kicking up the seabed sand... About importing a girl, see below.

I wasn't sure since I hadn't been to Palawan previously, so when I went, I invited a couple of friends I was really into. It was a good thing, since I didn't come across a lot of pretty locals, but then again, I am not terribly fond of Filipinas. Lots of US, Aussie and European tourists though... even during the off season I'd been there.

By the way... It is not difficult to invite a chick to go with you. Filipinas love "outings" and normally equate that with swimming at a beach or a resort. I remember my college classmates organizing a Sem-Ender... we convoyed in 5 vehicles packed with guys and girls to Subic to party over the weekend at the beach. Heck, even fast food crews at Jollibee get together and go somewhere at least once a year. For a Filipina, it's one of the few escapes from the daily rat race that is easily within reach.

I feel your pain man... I lived 3 years in the frozen-hell winters of Michigan... I plan to go back to the Philippines later this year... and probably the year after that!

I love tropical islands in the rainy season. Spent about a year or more (off and on) on Samui and a couple months on Koh Tao. Nothing like the downpours. Great time for a swim.

I didn't book hotels in advance. Almost everywhere I went, save boracay at its seasonal peak, hotels were easy to come by. I didn't stay in hostels - a basic hotel can be had for $25 easily so the few dollars I'd save weren't worth the discomfort of sharing a room to me (if hostels even exist in the Philippines).

I was there for only two weeks because that's the most vacation time I can take at once. I booked all my flights the day before - which proved more expensive and I wouldn't recommend doing. Cebu pacific was generally the cheapest option internally.
