I just noticed she only 3,000 people have liked her on Facebook. This is 1/4 of the likes for 'Suicide', as an interest. Is it possible the manosphere is vastly-overestimating her cultural importance?

Yea, the manosphere is def overestimating her importance. I enjoy reading people make fun of her though. People sometimes ask Vox why he rips on John Scalzi still even though Vox's blog gets way more traffic now and the fact that Vox actually gives Scalzi a boost in traffic when he mentions him.

The reason? It's fun. It's entertaining. Lindy West is a train-wreck, clearly unhappy, however, she has a bad heart, so, its not like people are picking on someone who doesn't deserve it.

Long live making fun of that fat slob I say. Everyone needs a laugh now and again, and since, I'm certainly not reading Jezebel, I appreciate it when people like Roosh bring up a particularly hilarious post like this one to my attention.

I might be wrong, but as I outlined before, it doesn't matter whether we are taking her seriously, but whether the gender studies professors are doing it. And given that there are thousands and thousands of them, I have no doubt that at least a few hundred are legitimizing her insane rants by citing her as "a prominent blogger dealing with discrimination against fat people" in their research projects, which are then cited by actual authorities.

I don't know how to check all published papers from the field of gender studies, though.

What a tragic shame. You can tell from her old picture of her that, if she had bothered to stay in shape, that she'd have been a very pretty girl and that she'd have had her pick of boys. Gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason.

I've always been stumped at how you get to that kind of fat level. It is not just a bit overweight, it must be years and years of inactivity and gross overeating. At some point wasn't there a parent or good friend around to tell you that you're slipping up?

I think major obesity is always a sign of serious emotional problems.

Unclear if PCOS causes someone to be fat or if being fat causes PCOS. What is clear is that being fat makes PCOS worse. It's thought that the link between obesity and PCOS is overstated because it's so much worse in the obese and they tend to seek treatment more often than women with normal weight.

White knight becomes suicidal.
