This girl called me last night that I met at a cambodian disco club a while back. I initially had picked up her hotter friend and was making out with her while dancing (I love that they actually dance here) but we were all eating together and then her boyfriend kept calling and finally tracked us down. When that happened the other one perked up, grabbed my number, and has been hitting me up since. But I didn't think much of her and ignored it. I remembered her being the chubbier one and not very hot but I guess it was just in comparison to her friend.

So last night she texts me and I was hanging out with this Cambodian guy. This time I was game so I told her to come on through. I told him beforehand, don't judge me man - she's kind of fat, etc, but she wants the d. lol

He just laughs.

But she shows up and she's not really chubby at all like I remembered. She's actually pretty damn decent. And my Cambodian friend is a bit stunned. "I thought you said she was fat, man - she's hot." I was pretty pleased by the turn of events myself.

He's not a real close friend but in any case I don't think it was a purposeful cockblock - otherwise he wouldn't have told me what he said to her. You've spent spent time in Thailand, so you probably know how Southeast Asians are with stuff like this. They constantly do things like tell people they're fat or look funny. Almost every guy I know out here makes fun of his girlfriend and tells his friends she's fat and ugly right in front of her.

So I think that's all it was. That and he was drunk. In this case it didn't seem to go over very well as it wasn't a girl I had hooked yet.

When you befriend the locals, shit like this just happens; I consider it collateral damage for unique experiences. I also try to make a point of being by myself when hanging out with a new girl for this reason.

Nah, just regular kids. It's a common sight in the discoteques throughout the region. Cambodians just have different standards of what's attractive and what's not than us. Of course, many are still attracted to the more universal masculine male featured in the movies too but I'd say what's considered a desirable man covers a much wider span out this direction.

I suppose it's quite likely the guys in these situations are moneyed as well, as that's definitely a big part of attraction here.
