Was cruising around with Patron yesterday and stopped at a street vendor to get some ghetto dominican daiquiris. Next door there were 2 barrio bitches working a lottery ticket stand, so I tell Patron lets pull them back, but he wasn't interested because his chick looked too barrio. I have my chick tell his to take her hair net off (barrio girls always walk around in fuckin hair nets) and after doing that and putting on a bit of makeup, her appearance changes 180, and Patron is down. They tell us they have to stay for another hour until they can close their lottery stand so we bounced to get some food and then scooped them up. These girls had thick barrio accents so it was difficult to understand their Spanish, so we used that as an excuse to drive them straight back to the apartment. I opened the door and took mine straight to the bed while Patron took his on the balcony. I immediately banged mine out, switched the bedsheets, then it was Patron's turn. While he was banging his chick, I put mine to work and had her handwash my laundry:



After Patron was done with his chick, I had her do my laundry also:



Then while doing the laundry together I had them kiss each other:



After laundry was done we threw them back on the bed and had them dyke it out for a bit:



I don't know how to make the animated gif bigger or longer (it got cut off). Anyway with barrio chicks I always make sure to have them do chores post-bang, whether it's laundry, cooking, mopping the floors, doing the windows, whatever. It further cements their loyalty to you than if you just throw them in the taxi when you're done. Barrio chicks ENJOY doing chores in this country. Total cost: $0.

Just another day in paradise. Never know whats going to happen. Bolthouse had no problem approaching the girls and shortly after, we were doing these girls. I think he was more interested in having a girl clean his apartment, more than banging the chick. But, being the nice guy he is, he gave her the D.

A pregnant girl stole food right out of my plate today.

I was eating chicken in a restaurant nearby. I was nearly finished, I had pile of bones and skin that I didn't eat on my plate, when a heavily pregnant girl walks in: "Tengo hambre" (I'm hungry)

Before I can even answer, she grabs a fistful of skin & bones from my plate and runs off.

That was weird and sad at the same time, poor girl, she must have been really hungry to do this.

I would have bought her a meal or given her more food, but she was gone in a flash.

I'm in Zona colonial. Just arrived. I'm about ready to collapse from exhaustion due to an extremely long layover and lack of sleep.

I might start my own latin america thread. I'll be in the DR for at least a month I suppose.

I pipelined decently and got about 40 numbers on my whatsapp. We'll see if I get the golden touchdown, but I'm kinda doubting it at this point.

I paid 30 USD To get from the airport to zona colonial, though I've read you can usually get it down to 20, but I just didn't care to haggle.

I got the claro sim card right after arriving, it cost 4 dollars for the SIM, plus 35 dollars for a month of coverage, but that's only 1 gig of data. I paid 5 bucks extra for minutes to call phones on the orange network (the other big company).

After working for a few hours, my phone now says "no sim" and isn't working. awesome.

Tenerife you're getting hustled. I paid 12 bucks (500 pesos) for a cab from the airport to downtown today, and 5 gigs of Internet for my phone is 690 pesos.

There are plenty of older threads which discuss how easy it is to get ripped off here, check them out. Remember the average person makes 100-200 a month, and they'd be thrilled to make that in one quick hustle of a gringo.

Okay. I've read pretty much every single piece of intel on the forum before arriving.

In Elabayarde's datasheet he says 35-40 usd is the going rate, which I've read elsewhere. On lonely planet forum someone else mentioned getting 900 DOP to Zona Colonial as a good price. Maybe you can post up some data on how you get a good price on stuff?

What company did you get 5gs of data from and what shop?

My phone says "no sim" on it. I went to an official claro shop in the airport yesterday. They hustle you even at these official shops? I'm going to hit up a claro shop and hopefully sort this problem out.....

I have some spanish skills, though they are low. This is my first time in latin america.

Cabs don't use metered taxis here. A girl I was texting gave me the number of a cab company so maybe I'll try that. Is getting taxis from the street alright?

Alright, Sim card is working again.

I went into a very large Claro store on Av 30 de Marzo just north of Parque de Independencia. No one could speak english who worked there out of the 15 or so employees. Luckily a really friendly dominican guy who was asking about his own phone service was in there and he helped me out as a translator.

The woman working there quoted me the same base price for a month of prepaid cellphone service including internet: 1200 DOP or about 30 bucks. same price they said at the claro store in the airport. If there is a better deal I'd definitely go for it, though I don't think I was hustled on that.

The only problem with my sim was it needed to be taken out and put back in...strange.

With my phone back in action I've already got multiple dates set up. In fact I may have overbooked.

I would say 200 to 250 depending on the time. Later is more expensive and thats probably including the gringo tax you will get from all the taxis that are around zona colonial. You can get cheaper taxis if you get normal ones in other areas of the city.

Do you mean av.venezuela? 5 bucks if that.

getting taxis is always a pain. firstly make sure you dont get into taxi that are really gua guas. they go on a set route and are shared taxis that people hop in and out of. in SD they look almost the same.

second the golden rule is always agree on a fee before you set off or the guy will argue with you and rip you off for as much as possible when you arrive.

dont take the taxis that are parked at the beginning of Conde. They are speficially waiting there for tourists to rip off.

also dont change money on the street - only in banks and at casa de cambios - the rip off scam with street changers is famous in SD (they palm the large denomination notes off the bottom after counting it out in front of you)

PS Go to bar Bio in the zona colonial. Say hi to the Israeli guy with the pony tail behind the bar. He is the owner. Friendly guy. On Fri and Sat nights tons of upper class / rich dominicans go there and drink cocktails out of plastic buckets (its considered trendy there). That crowd is super cliquey and spends the entire night taking photos of themselves. Its kinda funny. Not a bad place to warm up for the night though. The cafe / bar opposite does really tasty mini kebabs for a decent price. Try them.

When I was there, I used Apolo Taxi for getting about places, and for me they charged decent prices, but I agree 200-250 is probably the rough estimate.

What phone company was that? I'd be surprised if it was Orange, maybe Viva?

Apolo is a good option. Venesuala avenida is not.
