I've just left Argentina and I loved the country, but dealing with the girls was ultimately was pretty frustrating. The experience I'd have over and over was that I'd have sets that went well, get a #close/fb-close that felt solid enough that if I was in the US I'd expect a 80% chance of D2. Then I'd never see the girl again. This happened 100% of the time (of 10-12 closes) whereas in the US, my D2 flake rate is something like 30-40%. If it was a fb-close, she'd always accept the request, but then she'd usually never respond to my invitation to hang out. I never use fb-chat, but looking back I wish I'd tried that instead of sending messages. The #closes would either not respond or agree and cancel. I eventually got to a point where I just stopped trying for any kind of close except SNLs.

Even girls I wasn't gaming were extremely flaky. I'd met 4-5 Buenos Aires girls in hostels during my travels before arriving to BA and they all told me to hit them up when I got to town (i.e. they initiated the invitation without me even fishing for it). I figured that'd be a big leg up in getting connected to social circles, but when I actually got to town and tried to contact them, they were all too flaky to make plans with. The only one I saw at all was a girl I'd hung out with in a group in Mancora for like 2 days straight and even her I only was able to meet up with one time in the 6 weeks I was in BA.

The advice I got from Lumiere and glassjawed was really helpful. I got much better responses in Conga Bar and Belushi than I'd been getting in the big clubs. The outdoor lounges worked much better but it was kind of a crapshoot because sometimes I'd show up and find it completely dead, even on some weekends. El Alamo was hit or miss. Sometimes it was a decent crowd, but too often it was packed so bad you could barely move around the bar and there were five guys for every girl.

I used the "I've heard that Argentinian girls are histericas" opener a bit and it usually got a good response. I tried asking Argie girls about what they thought of Argie guys and they actually usually had pretty good things to say about them, like they're good dressers and they're good talkers. Argie girls seemed to respond especially well to cold reads. A few times I ran the cube and the girls got really into it; better response than I usually see. If the girl was a student, I'd tell her I was going to tell her what she studied (guessing based on her personality) and they'd get really interested. It was really hard to ever isolate because Argie girls seem to be extremely skittish about going out of even a 6 ft radius of their friends.

My only pull was at Conga Bar about 3 weeks into my stay. It was a 3-set where I kept trying to isolate one girl, but I never could and ended up talking to all 3 of them for about 2 hours before we bounced next door to Belushi and I finally started making out with one of them. But even her, I couldn't even move away from her friends on the dance floor. Any time I'd pull her away, she'd scurry back and only make out with me if her friends were like 2 ft away. Then when we left, I invited her to drink wine at my place and she kept hemming and hawing and wouldn't leave her friends. She only agreed to come over after I said it was okay if her friends came too, so I ended up with all 3 of them hanging out at my apartment and it seemed like after 15 mins my girl girl-coded her friends that she was okay and they left. From there it was instant f-close with no resistance. But even for that, I was thinking "no vale la pena."

I went to Cordoba and hung out there for 3 nights after Buenos Aires and felt like I should have spent more time there instead of BA. The girls seemed to behave the same, but there were a LOT more hot, young girls than in Buenos Aires. Cordoba probably had the most beautiful women of any city I've ever been to.

I've fled to Colombia now and I'm missing the Argie girl looks, but I'm hoping the girls here will be easier to deal with.

The other strange thing I experienced in Argentina is that a few times girls accused me of being an Argentinian pretending to be American. It was really strange because I've lived in the US all my life and speak English as well as you'd expect from an American-born, college educated guy. I suppose I look like I could be Argentinian because I have light skin, brown hair, brown eyes, but I definitely don't look so Argentinian that you'd think I'm not American.

When I'd ask the girls about it after they were satisfied I was really American, they told me that Argie guys will sometimes pretend to be American to get girls. Supposedly it's unusual but not unheard of.

I love Mancora, was there for just 3 nights and 4 days (I wish it could have been longer but had to get back to Lima for my flight to Brazil), and managed to not get round to sleeping the whole time. It was just one non stop party from dusk till dawn. Really easily captured the Peruvian flag there. Probably the best sex of my life. Getting chased out of her shanty town house in the morning by her angry dad who I'm later told wanted to kill me was an experience. I'd love to get myself back there but I fear the girl, who I had to bullshit like crazy to guarantee I got laid or her dad might kill me if I'm spotted, and I would be spotted because it's such a small place. I couldn't escape her.

Do you speak fluent Spanish?

If not, I am pretty sure the girls that say this are just having fun, making conversation, and perhaps testing you to see how you react. If you don't speak perfect Spanish, the moment you say anything in Spanish she will know you are not Argentino.

They were teasing you, Argie guys just look different than the typical american, is like comparing italian to brittish or irish. Plus the Argentinian Spanish is well, unique.

i am fluent in spanish and got a slight accent. found cold approaches to work better in english and then sticking to spanish

well, pretty much anyone who's white unless they have strong slavic or germanic features could pass as an argentine

Yeah, basically. I haven't had much success with the Argies I've encountered but it seems like you'd have to run a pretty heavy asshole game with the occasional compliment thrown in to keep them chasing your validation. Qualify the fuck out of them and act like you're unimpressed for the most part, making them really earn the validation you do give them. Once you realize how wrapped up they are in their self-image, you can exploit it by playing to their need for constant validation of their ego.

Dont even think of using negs or cocky stuff on argie girls.

Their egos are big but also terribly fragile.

What I am referring to is to just make a comment (perhaps neutral or observational) about how they are dressed or how they come across to you. They egos ensure that they are obsessed with what people think of them.

Then after you have been talking to them a while (10-15 mins or so) say something like 'you know I have to tell you. you are either the coolest girl I have met for a while ..... or .... you are complete weirdo. I have not decided yet'.

And leave them hanging.

Their egos at this point will be screaming 'I want him to think I am cool and not weird' and they will invest a lot more into the interaction in the hope that you think they are cool.
