I would argue that girls change psychologically with every new partner. Especially long term ones.

Exactly. Do you shake people's hands? Think of all the nasty shit (figuratively and literally) those hands have touched. Of course, that stuff doesn't stay there forever as most people wash their hands, however infrequently.
