Do you guys buy slim fit shirts and t-shirts? Especially interested in hearing if you buy slim fit t-shirts/v-necks. Those are the ones that hug your body, quite a different feel and look than the regular fit. They make you look more buff but do they make you look better overall??

I can't wear "normal" fit clothes. My shoulders are substantially wider than my waist. Normal clothes will hang like a sheet.

Get good fitting fabric that "hangs" on your body and not that lycra or underarmor stuff.

Deep v-necks aren't my thing but they look good on the right guy. I prefer henleys with a couple of buttons undone.

@OP: Yeah. I try to only buy slim fitting stuff. I like Express' v-necks. Good quality and you can usually find them on sale.

@Mike: Any recommendations for good henleys?

H&M and American Apparel have some nice henleys.

You can always go to a large dept store and try on a bunch, but expect to pay 2-3x more than H&M.

Express black v-necks and gray crew necks or the only t-shirts I own.

V-necks are excellent. I find they're often more unusual and flattering than crew neck tees. It's an essential basic top that everyone should have in their wardrobe. Just be sure to stay away from the overly deep v-necks.

Most of the guys here are red pill and actually work out. So we have a chest that looks good with vneck and fitted shirts. A good rule of thumb would be, if you dont have Delts, you probably arent in shape and shouldnt get a Vneck. Never worn a deep V neck though, those look gay, but I now exclusively wear white Hanes V neck undershirts to the gym. And yes, I check myself out when Im working out.

With shirts, I buy European fit from the men's brands they have down here. Hugs your V-shape nicely. Other shirts are made for generic fat blokes.

Not sure about slim fit T-shirts, it depends. Many down here are designed for skinny hipsters who have no lats nor delts, and I'd look ridiculous in them.

Are you talking about the pima cotton J. Crew variety (or is that Banna Republic)? Those seem to look pretty nice, but aren't they like $20-25?

Wondering what people are paying on average...if it's a nice t-shirt I'm ok spending up to say $15 a shirt but anything more than that seems like a lot. Maybe I'm being too cheap though.

Yes, they are $25. You can get them on sale though, which happen fairly frequently.

I have this same problem. I don't wear t-shirts very often when I'm not in the gym, so tbh I don't really give a shit how my shirt fits in the gym/I wear a tank most of the time so the shoulder size doesn't really matter.

For casual clothing I wear a lot of Proper Cloth Dress shirts. They're a little expensive, but if you wear dress shirts to work they're no more expensive than most Brooks Brothers. As a result of the shirts being made-to-measure, I get mine fit to me, which inclludes a little bit of added taper to the shirt. Get compliments all the time as to how good I look in my shirts. For just casual shirts, they're a little pricey, but I wear suits 6 days a week so it makes sense. If you're in a semi-corporate environment that requires you to wear dress shirts, and you can get yourself fitted, then I highly recommend them

Uniqlo has both v necks and regular t shirts, all really good fits.
$12 dollar a piece and really good quality.
All the colors you can think of, if wearing loud colors are your thing.
(They also have nice casual blazers)

another vote for the express stretch v-necks. I am tall and slim, but have noticable chest and arm muscles and a medium slim v-neck looks good on me. Have gotten compliments from several females since employing them into my wardrobe.

I have broad shoulders and a slim waist do I'm constantly hunting for decent shirts. I find that Calvin Klein makes a good v neck t-shirt. So does Guess.

V's are "in" these days hard. If you are the type to keep up with fashion then V's should likely be in your wardrobe. I personally only wear v-neck T's for their intended purpose: under a dress shirt so it doesn't peek through your collar with the top button undone. V-neck sweaters are great though.

Slim fitting shirts are just more comfortable and if you have a good tapered form then it makes sense. I'm tall and lean and a boxy T-shirt is just too loose on the bottom.

If you buy clothes from places where thin people shop (AE, Aero, etc) they seem to only have slim fit shirts. Noticed that when I upgraded from buying clothes at Walmart and Target.

Of course most Walmart shoppers just need to walk past the clothing section and head back to camping for a nice tent or tarp that fits.

I second slim fit Uniqlo v-neck t shirts. Great value for what you are getting. Much more durable and will last you a long time.

My favorite shirts are the Hurley brand V-Necks.
They fit me PERFECT, and I get plenty of compliments with them on.
I'm a stocky, muscular, semi lean guy.
I know that Hurley isn't necessarily a lot of peoples style, but the brand fits my personality.

In Dallas, I prefer not to look like the run of the mill $30k dollar millionaire, unless the occasion calls for a suit/tux/long sleeve button up attire.
