Hey all. I'm new to the website and game in general. I'm 24 and go out with mild success but recently I have started to actually study game. Currently I'm deployed in Afghanistan and I was wondering what I could do while I have a lot of free time here (no females) to game better when I get back?

Hey Franky,

You could try setting up a few online profiles at OKCupid or Plenty of Fish. Military guys get a lot of attention and I'm sure you could have a few thing in the pipeline by the time you return if you play your cards right.

Until then, read books and practice the best you can?

1) Thanks for your service.

2) I'd suggest keeping up with friends at home via Facebook is a good start, your social circle to prepare some girls for when you get home. Most of them will be in a patriotic mood.

3) A guy I knew from high school was deployed in Iraq, and he told me that he kept some pictures of him handing out supplies to the locals, and got pictures playing with the local kids. According to him it was an asset to getting laid when he got back here.

4) Keep browsing the forums, and blogs in the manosphere to learn more about the theory of game, etc.

Sounds like I was on the right track. Read Bang, got a couple other books, hitting the website Tagged up, and joined this forum. Now I'll expand to a few more websites and continue doing my homework. Got a trip planned for Australia in December and January when I'm out of here. I live in Germany so I'll plan some time to hit up eastern europe when I get back as well. Thanks for the tips.

For now, read a lot of books. So that when you come back you'll be able to talk about things other than your deployment. It's definitely something you will bring up, but it shouldn't be the only thing you talk about.

I deploy to Stan in one week exactly. What are some things I can do to get my shit straight when I come back?

Things I want to do:
-get a car 2k-5k price range
-invest in forex
-pay off 11k in credit card debt
-start paying off 30k in student loan debt
-do green to gold - get graduate degree and then get commissioned through rotc; already have started paperwork; the master's is more important to me though than officer, b/c frankly, I don't know if I want to stay in the army that long.
-travel across Europe for a month after deployment mainly bulgaria and romania

I know I need to at least clear my credit card debt, but i also need a car. Could you current or former service members offer me any advice about deployment and taking care of things to improve my lifestyle when I complete my assignment?

If you are a pogue or working in the TOC on a big FOB then try to get on a detail that will put you in position to network with lots of civi contractors.

edit: Didn't do this myself but if I could go back I'd do two things
- get a bitcoin mining rig and run it 24/7 since electricity is free
- have a few friends back home send whiskey every two weeks and sell it to contractors (never someone in your own unit)

Have you called your CC company to get enrolled in the Servicemen's Relief Act? It will bring your interest down to 6% for the time you're deployed. The military also used to offer a fund that you could invest in during deployment that would pay a guaranteed 10% interest for you, can't remember what it's called. - here http://www.dfas.mil/militarymembers/paye...s/sdp.html

Your profile shows that you speak 4 languages why not learn a 5th in your down time that pays DLPT and opens doors like Arabic? Job security is gtg since we'll be fighting those fools until the US is kaput. At Ali Al Salem I talked to a dude in Green Beans, a gringo SP4 Arabic linguist who couldn't decide on what to do after he got out, should he take the 180k / yr inside the wire job or the 260k / yr outside the wire job.

Thanks for the invaluable info PoosyWrecker. I just finished a 10 week Pashto course and my plan is to take the DLPT when I get back.

Right, I've heard a lot about the service man's act, but I don't think it will do me much good since all my stuff is in collections now; guess I just gotta negotiate and settle with these folks utilizing the extra coin I'll be getting.

Right the Deployment Savings program. I will definitely be signing up for that.

Not to sure about bitcoin, but that's because I know very little about how it works. I'll do some research.

Yeah, I'm gonna network with some of those civilian contractors because, I really don't see myself doing 20ys.

Buy the cheapest car you can get with the lowest miles that is reliable. A simple STOCK Honda Civic or something similar will get you around, get you great gas mileage, and will be cheap to fix if it breaks down.

There are MANY great guides that lay out how to best get out of debt. Here's a link to one (and mint is free and lets you do much of the budgeting in a very simple way). One of the most important parts is understanding all the aspects of your debt so that you can pay off the debt that hurts you the most first (higher interest, already sent to collections, etc...). Remember that if you are already in collections you can try to negotiate your debt down to fractions of what it originally was:

Good stuff, preciate the link. As tempting as it is to get a bad ride as something to reward myself with, I know better than that. I'm fine with a cheap but presentable ride.
