I would assume under travel. I'd love to read it, I plan on travelling the country at some point. I have relatives in most major Indian cities, which should make things a bit easier.

India is honestly one of the most fascinating places in the world. I say this as a second generation Indian living in the states--as filthy and terrible as parts of India can be, the place just has this [/i]majesty[i] to it, this ancient vibe that you honestly have to experience to understand. As infuriating as it can be to see public urination and piles of trash everywhere, there are definitely things that make up for it--the thousands of temples, the outstanding food, the way that three-thousand-year-old customs and traditions still survive authentic and unabridged.

The holy Rigveda, for example, has been chanted in its original form for the past four thousand years. Few other countries still maintain such a powerful link to their past.

It is honestly a country of extremes. The cities can be profoundly ugly, utter dumps filled with trash, feces, and horribly maimed people. Vitiligo and leprosy are serious problems in Indian cities--simply looking at some of India's people can be a traumatic experience. At the same time, the monuments are spectacular. And the place is just so bizarrely different from the West(more so than almost any other country) that its uniqueness merits a visit in and of itself.

If you're travelling to India(for the first time), I would personally avoid Mumbai, Chennai, and most of rural north India.

While Mumbai does have the hottest girls in India(and indeed in most of the world), the city is filthy, terrible, and somewhat frightening--expect to get harassed by burn victims and transvestites(scary motherfcukers these people) begging for alms, while the traffic is absolutely awful. If you have good connections within the city, go for it by all means--the richer women are stunning and the social scene is the best in the subcontinent. If not, give this place a pass.

Chennai is a similar deal, except that the people honestly look worse than the livestock that roam the city. There's also a lot less to do and the food is worse. That said it is a more chilled out place and there is far less of the ridiculous poverty found in the north.

Finally, avoid the living fuck out of the parts of central-north India(UP, MP, Bihar, Chhatisgarh, Orissa) that are not well-known national parks or monument sites. If you're visiting UP(Uttar Pradesh), limit yourself to Delhi, Agra, and maybe MAYBE Varanasi. If you're visiting MP(Madhya Pradesh) check out the national tiger reserves then get the fuck out. If you're visiting Orissa or Bihar, check out the Konarak temple, Bodh Gaya(the birthplace of the Buddha), and maybe the ruins of Pataliputra(ancient capital of the Maurya empire).

DO NOT tarry or fuck around in these places. The police here are the worst in India(which is saying something)--rule of law here is scanty at best and nonexistent at worst. Most of the gang rapes and riots happen in this part of India as well, there's also the danger of Maoist rebels if for some reason you decide to visit the countryside. Bihar is especially fucked up, easily the worst part of India and possibly one of the worst areas in the world.

Travel section seems fine to me. I think a lot of people are pretty ignorant about India. Everyone says stuff like "don't go to India" and then describes it as this horrible place, when to me it seems it would be virtually impossible to even come up with a blanket description for such a huge, diverse country.

Would be nice to see some real knowledge dropped, even if it's lacking in game info.

Northeastern India is a different animal than northern India. The Northeast, as many have stated, is filled with Asian-looking races who are more closely related to the Burmese and Tibetans than they are to stock North Indians. I feel like this area would be far more suited to RVF members than most of India. While it isn't much wealthier than the rest of the country, NE India is largely Christian and animist, meaning that the restrictive social structures sponsored by both Hinduism and Islam are largely absent. The females are also a lot prettier here.

The main issues in NE India are poverty(this area is largely neglected by mainstream Indian politicians) and terrorism. This terrorism largely takes the form of independence movements. Some ethnic groups and tribes believe they deserve their own state within the Indian polity--others want to break away completely and form independent nations. There's also tons of resentment against the Indian army, which, when faced with insurrections in the 1950's and 60's, committed horrible atrocities against some of the warrior tribes who opposed them. Finally, the Chinese provide arms, food, and tactical support to some of the more powerful groups in the hope of destabilizing the region even further.

These rebel groups have adopted Maoism as their political ideology, but the root cause of their struggle is independence and not the propagation of Communism or the demolition of the caste system. Moreover, the Maoists in the Northeast are largely limited to peripheral jungles inhabited only by rural tribespeople, areas that are legally off-limits anyways.

In Northern India, on the other hand, the rebel groups are fighting to rearrange the very structure of their society. These groups are typically composed of Dalits(Untouchables), who, inspired by the Red Book, are attempting to engage in a full-on social revolution. These people are called Naxals. Their mission is to overthrow their upper-caste landlords, who have been exploiting them, raping their women, and denying them basic human rights for the past few centuries. Since peaceful protest rarely solves anything in India(ironic, isn't it?), the Naxals have resorted to outright terrorism in order to achieve their goals, attacking upper-caste villages, assassinating politicians, and occasionally kidnapping/killing westerners stupid enough to enter their territory.

Naxalite clashes with the military have resulted in a state of near civil war across parts of Bihar, Orissa, Chhatisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh. The conflict has been exacerbated by the presence of upper-caste militias, which wage their own paramilitary war against the Naxals. These militias, typically staffed by members of the landlord classes, have massacred thousands of Dalits and Communists in revenge. The most notable upper-caste milita is the Ranvir Sena, whose leader, Brahmeshwar Mukhiya, was thankfully offed at some point last year(dude was a real cunt).

Finally, the governance and infrastructure in these states is horrendous. The real reason that these civil conflicts are allowed to perpetuate is a general lack of education and a complete disregard for Indian law, which at least tries to mediate differences between the castes. The politicians in these areas are impotent, corrupt, and highly uneducated. Bihar, at one point, was run by a woman who couldn't read.

There is some cool stuff to see in these states--Bodh Gaya in Bihar, Konarak in Orissa, gorgeous national parks in Madhya Pradesh. The bottom line, however, is that these places are highly unstable. As colossally filthy as most Indian cities are, the odds of you being kidnapped/beaten/shot are fairly low. In the countryside of central India, those odds rise quite drastically. In these areas, stick to the touristy spots, or at least those where the government keeps a watchful eye on things. If people warn you about a certain district or county, they're probably right, and it's best to stay the fuck out of there.

This winter I want to get out of Europe. Thailand is a perfect hotspot to enjoy good weather, have a bit of adventure and of course chase an abundance of women from all nationalities 7 days a week. The problem is I don't particularly like revisiting places I have already been because it is never the same.
I have always wondered about India and am really keen on going in the new year but my only concern is it won't have that beach party atmosphere that is the best part about travelling to Asia. I heard Goa was party party from multiple sources and personally know a lot of tasty girls that love the place but then there are some guys who describe it as pussy hell. Culture aside, will I be disappointed with my choice to go to Goa?

If women love a place, that's bad for pussy hunting. Think of Italy or California (although I think it's gotten so bad in California men are intimidated and that creates an opening.)

I there's a large Indo-Canadian community in my hometown, and while there are some hotties, they are mostly locals. The vast majority are not hot at all. Their fashion sense makes the Mainland Chinese here look like Koreans! Delhi and Agra are a must. Both are complete shitholes(Agra far more so than Delhi), but both have some of the most beautiful monument sites in the entire subcontinent. The Taj Mahal and the Red Fort are obviously worth a visit, as are Fatehpur Sikri, Lodi Gardens, and the Qutub Minar. The nearby cities of Mathura and Ayodhya are also shitholes, but both are some of the oldest cities in the subcontinent(and indeed the world) and played important roles in the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. Varanasi is supposed to be a colossal dump, but I do plan on visiting it someday. The place is full of cannibal monks called Aghori Sadhus, along with other ridiculous shit that has to be seen to be believed. I also feel like I owe my ancestors a dip in the holy Ganga, as putrid as that river is.

India's northernmost states are spectacular. Check out Kulu Manali in Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh in Kashmir. There's some gorgeous Himalayan scenery to be had in those areas. The northeast is also very scenic. Sikkim and Assam are definitely worth a visit. The latter is home to Kaziranga National Park, which is the Indian equivalent of the Serengeti, home to rhinos, elephants, and Bengal Tigers.

South India is a little more relaxed and civilized than the north. If anything, I would suggest that you start your travels here. Tamil Nadu has some magnificent temples, especially at Thanjavur, Mahabalipuram, and Gangaikonda Cholapuram. Kerala has some beautiful hill stations, and Ellora and Hampi in Karnataka are some of the oldest and best-designed monument sites in the entire subcontinent.

There's so much to see in India, man. It's obviously a terrible place for game and women, but that shouldn't preclude anyone from paying it a visit. I'd never live there, but I definitely plan on spending a good four or five months backpacking the place at some point.

I've spent a grand total of one day in Mumbai, so I probably can't give you a detailed picture of the place. I personally found it more shocking and disgusting than any other part of India(shittier than Agra, which is saying something).

Beggars will often go up to cars mired in traffic(this is common throughout most of South Asia/the developing world); once in Mumbai my mother and I were accosted by a little kid whose skin looked crumpled. There were burn marks on his face, and the skin on his chest literally looked like a crumped piece of paper. Shriveled up. This was one of the more traumatizing things that I saw during my last trip to India, and it probably distorted my perception of the city of Mumbai. The level of poverty there was unbelievable. Agra was almost as bad, but then Agra isn't a major city, nor is it essentially the cultural capital of the Indian nation. The fact that a city as important as Mumbai could be so disgustingly poor was depressing.

I personally have a terrible impression of the place, but that's based off of a cursory visit that didn't encompass the nicer areas of the city. Navi Mumbai, and those neighborhoods inhabited by the rich, should be markedly better. I also did see attractive girls on Mumbai's streets, which is more than I can say for Delhi(epic sausagefest) or Chennai(possibly the ugliest people on earth). I have no clue how daygame or nightgame would work there, but I would imagine that it would be easier in Mumbai than anywhere else in the subcontinent.

Oh, and stay the fuck out of Dharavi. The stuff I saw in fairly middle-class areas was disturbing. The stuff you'll see in a legitimate slum might leave you unable to sleep for a week.
