20 posts is too low. Make thst at least 200 or st the bare minimum 100 posts or say 5-10 rep points whichever comes first. It would also give the new guys an incentive to post quality content to reach the requirement to get into the quality section. Its like everything, you start at the bottom and work your way up.

yeah, but make it too high and you'll have members posting random valueless comments and cluttering up the threads just to meet the bare minimum. I don't think that should be encouraged.

I can see why there's an interest in going private but, to be fair, I don't think the anecdote about what's happened to Miliklub should be the incident that sets off alarms. Roosh gave that place a hell of an endorsement. It actually came in at number one on his ROK article about the 5 easiest places in the world to get laid. Of course that would go viral. Roosh said something to the effect that it's impossible not to get laid there and that any guy can pull every night or something. That's about as good as an endorsement as you'll ever hear, let alone from Roosh. Shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that the place has now turned into a sausage fest. Easiest thing to do is just not put out articles like that as it can end up doing more harm than good in the long run. Lesson learned.

Set up a second account and post the data sheets under that name, then like the data sheet with your "roosh" account so that everyone knows that it is vouched for.

That's why it would be best that it be a combination of rep points and post count. So say, at least 100 posts and 5 minimum rep points.

Or maybe another way is you can only join if you've dropped at least one solid data sheet yourself. Wanna join? Gotta bust out a legit sheet.

Yeah, there's a big difference between posting an article like that on a site that attracts reasonable traffic (ROK), and simply putting out a datasheet on this forum with the best clubs to go in a particular city.

The problem with an article or blog post is that they easily get linked/mentioned in mainstream articles, and that's how they go viral. I've even got a guy from work, a couple of months ago, mentioning me that he read somewhere about clubs in Scandinavia being 'elected' the easiest in the world to get laid. I'm pretty sure he read the article on ROK, even though I'm almost sure he's not a reader of the site.

Nobody links forum posts, on the other hand. They lack credibility to be mentioned in a mainstream article. No journalist is going to write on his article, 'Roosh from the Roosh V forum posted that Milliklubi is the easiest in the world to get laid'.

So I see no problem with eventual Datasheets, perhaps one needs to be careful when giving such big endorsements to a club, though.

I think further segmenting this community and its content via a private forum is the wrong approach.

It would dilute/brain drain this public one, while fostering an ever stagnating seniors only groupthink club. Seen it happen before on a similar forum back in the day.

Data sheets only and a forum to post photos of girls that can only be accessed by RVF members who meet a certain rep or post count is a great idea, and becoming necessary imo. A subforum to post photos of girls would be great so we can safely share photos, but most importantly, get a real perspective of the girls from a certain city. I think many more people would share in a subforum like that.

I'd say create a members-only subforum but set the bar to enter quite low, like 10 posts and/or being a member for more than 2 months. That is enough effort for someone who wants datasheets -- they'd have to register a forum account on the first, participate a bit, etc. If you set the bar too high, then only a few hundred forum members will have access, and what % of those will actually find it useful (i.e are planning to go to city X)?

But if a members-only subforum isn't an option, I still think it's OK to post in the usual forum, especially for smaller cities. Chisinau is a place I'd love to visit, but it's not a big tourist destination, so it's not like some club listed on a datasheet will suddenly go to crap when a few people read it -- there simply aren't enough people to actually follow up on it who are in/going to that city.

Or another approach is to post a minimum of 5 good clubs in each datasheet. Too many choices and the sausage fest won't know where to go.

My opinion : Keep it simple. All this complicated schemes for the forum just to release a dozen datasheets is like using a goldberg machine to wash your shoes. Post a teaser then release a something for as much price as you decide it's fair. Simple.

A lot of the datasheets contains analysis of the culture/girls, so it's not just venues. For this, the ego part of me wants it to be read by a larger audience.

I don't know, normally when I have to pay for info that is readily available elsewhere...like data on a sizable city...I go elsewhere; but I've bought most of Roosh's books because the info is uncommon, insightful, and fun to read.

You also have Dash Global mining data from this forum and spreading it across the internet under his name, including P4P websites. Sounds fair don't it?

What i am refering is, as Courage said, that when in forums you create certain semi-closed camarillas, the forum became a little stale, because you began to have two very defined groups, the "ins" and "outs", and even when created with the best intentions, this creates problems for the comunity. This is from my personal experience in other forums, but i agree that is no fair that data created by users from here ends in P4P sites.

The problem with making it private is that how do new members come to be found that are interested in the travel section. It takes away the option that people stumble upon the site and then want to become a member for the travel section and most people are not inclined to sign up for something unless they know or have seen it before. I think it would lead to a decrease in growth. However, at the same time the quality of posts would go up substantially. I think the forum is still in the growth phase. Once it starts to level off then it may be better to make it private..

I am actually in favor of an idea like this. Perhaps after 50 posts you have access to a separate subforum where specific venues are posted. A user would create a datasheet in a public forum with general observations but post specific locations, venues, street pictures and any other information that he wants to keep from the general public in the hidden subforum. He can link from the public datasheet to the private one. This would provide a small, reasonable barrier to entry. People who are willing to travel to other countries are willing to make 50 posts of reasonable quality to get the information that will make their trip better.

I've shared it so many times I think I should put it in a FAQ. This comes up every 5 months. In a nutshell:

-I have been a member of private forums. They always die. Too much energy is spent on debating who should be admitted.
-I have an ideological bent towards open or easy-accessible information
-98% of you wouldn't be here if the forum was private. It's easy to advocate for this AFTER you found me via google

Data Sheets are great to get somebody oriented and give them the basic starting points. But if you find a gold mine and you share it to the world, it will soon be played out. There is a classic dilemma called "The Tragedy of the Commons" that describes this problem. It explains how any shared and abundant resource will be overused by each individual until it is no longer of value to anybody (google it if you are curious). This is what has happened to a few well known EE cities and what happens to these individual bars on a micro-level. So you can argue that data sheets run counter to their objective of helping guys find good places, if publishing will make those places bad.

I knew a pickup bar once that had such a reputation for being easy that it died soon after the word got out because after awhile it was only hookers and tourist guys, then nobody at all and it closed. Once I posted in a forum about a very small bar where all the high level HBs were going, and I didn't think it mattered because they had heavy face control. But just a few weeks later I saw a guy of a sort I had never seen there before, wearing business attire, mid 50s, standing at the highest point in the place with his hands on his hips looking around, like "I have cash" and I knew my post had not gone unnoticed (people can buy their way into most places).

I think it's especially good practice when creating data sheets to say if a city is generally good or not and why. But as far as places go, not to include small places that would be ruined if a few gamers showed up on any given night, etc. and just list places that are good, but easy for tourists to find with a little hunting and on top of that give enough general info or guidelines so an adventurous and resourceful guy who doesn't mind putting in some legwork can still find these special places on his own.
