I had an old Starbucks card laying around so I downloaded the free Starbucks app and loaded the card into that. Instantly tells you your balance and whatnot. Very handy app if you like coffee and hate carrying around excessive cards in your pocket/wallet. Haven't used the Passbook feature for things like plane tickets or boarding passes yet. I wish Apple had included an NFC chip in the phone, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

Haven't tried but uTorrents remote management through web could do just that if it has an interface for mobile devices.

Alright I figured out how to do it. Made a new thread on the subject.

RE: Iphone only
If I send an SMS to multiple recipients (think game mass text) will the recipients be aware of this fact? I guess not. But what if one of the messages is sent using iMessage, does it change anything? Maybe a safe method would be to turn off iMessage for the duration of mass texting. I'm worried because iOS has the support for group messages and I'm not sure under which conditions it becomes active.

[update]

After doing some research it seems this isn't even possible with an iPhone. Fuck.

RE: Iphone only
Need some help. I have an old Sprint Iphone 4s which I havnt used in awhile. My sister needed a new phone so rather then paying for a new one I just gave her this one. I upgraded to IOS 6.1.3 and tried jailbreaking. Only thing I can find so far is jailbreaking iphone 4, not iphone 4s.

Can someone please tell me how I can jailbreak an iphone 4s with IOs 6.1.3

Ive tried redsn0w but it doesnt support 4s

I didnt save anything since I figured the phone hadnt been used for over a year so no point saving roms

RE: Iphone only
It has nothing to do with the 4s. You can jailbreak all of the iphones. It is just that the most recent jailbreak goes up to 6.1.2.

I have my iphone 4s and 5 both jailbroken and both are running 6.1.2.

It does not look like there is going to be a jailbreak for 6.1.3. It seems they are going to wait for ios 7 to come out before the next jailbreak is released.

Does anybody have any recommendations for a good list manager app? I'm using Paperless, which is good, but there are too many buttons to push just to add something to one of my lists.

RE: Iphone only
For anyone who wants to get ios 7 on there iphone today it is fairly easy. Just follow the video and instructions on this site...

http://tysiphonehelp.com/home/2013/9/10/...count.html

I only recommend this for people who are slightly tech inclined. ios 7 is coming out on the 18th so 95% of you guys can just wait for that but for anyone like me who likes doing this kind of stuff it is cool to check it out.

If you have a jailbroken phone remember it will no longer be jailbroken and it may take weeks/months before ios 7 is jailbroken so you may want to hold off on updating your ios at all.

RE: Iphone only
You can now block numbers in ios 7!

I didn't know this until now but in ios 7 there is a setting to block numbers from calling and messaging you. For anyone who has ever lived in SEA this is going to be an insanity saver. I have had girls send 100+ sms a day with no way to stop it other than to set my phone to ignore but have a shit ton of messages on my phone.

Go to Settings ---> Messages ---> Blocked

RE: Iphone only
Did you purchase the phone from AT&T at a reduced price because of a 2 year contract? If the 2 years is past then you can just call AT&T and have them unlock it.

If it is still not 2 years it gets much more complicated to get it unlocked.

I am guessing if you have and iphone 4 or 4s it has been past the 2 years and you can just call to get it unlocked with no problem.

I just broke out a new iphone 4. Gonna see what all the static is about. I learned my lesson twice about installing itunes on my computer. Will be keeping the iphone strictly to wifi for downloading apps. All I really need though is to import my Google contacts.

@Aliblahba
Make sure you set up icloud so it is backing up your contacts, notes, etc... Also if you are not to worried about apple or the NSA tracking you then set up "find my iphone" so if you loose your phone or it gets stolen you can log into icloud.com and track it down and beat the fucker who stole your phone.

^^^I have a bunch of apps for Android but rarely use them. It's just contacts I use mostly to make quick calls, and they are stored in Google. Will look into the stolen phone app. I'll probably switch off the ATT monster and need to unlock. I think Parley44 is the resident expert, but the Apple guys here have me blackballed.

Iphone 4s with 8gb is free with a 2 year contract. To buy an unlocked iphone I would buy a used one on ebay ranging in price between $250 and $350 depending the condition and how many gb. Make sure it is unlocked!

Here's the deal...the 4S I bought under contract was stolen...so I bought a 4 second-hand.

The 5 I bought under contract (family member's contract, not mine) a year ago.

So...even though it's been two years on my stolen 4S contract, the replacement 4 wasn't bought from ATT. And the 5 is only a year out.

Looks like my only option is to unlock without ATT's help, right? How can I go about doing that? Sorry I'm a retard on this subject, but I just see everywhere online where you pay some company and they magically do it - is that legit? I need to use both of these in Russia in a month.

@presidentcarter

The iphone 4 should be unlocked... I would call AT&T to confirm. It has obviously been more than 2 years for that phone. The iphone 5 is more complicated... Looks like you need to do some research on google.

Direct danger, i was under the impression that i could get an at&t model and stick a NEt 10 sim card in with no problems. A few people have told me not to pay more than 150 for used.

what are the differences between 4 and 4s? Is it worth paying more?

Well fuck. I forgot about the "micro sim". Now I gotta go print off a template and cut it myself. And starts the drama.
