Pseudonyms?
I've seen a few implications against "giving out your real name" on these forums so far, to that end whats the general opinion on using a pseudonym when you're out?

Chad Daring was long time standby of one of the best players I've ever known, and I've tried to use it when out but my doubt in the idea has usually led me to not committing to it entirely and either slipping out my real name, or delivering the pseudo so lack luster that it sounds weird.

Also, whats a good plan if you get busted using a fake name? (had a female bartender out me after I tried to chat up one of her friends)

RE: Pseudonyms?
Are you talking about using a pseudonym on a forum or in real life?

On a forum, it makes sense. You don't want anything you write to be linked back to you, especially if you write something un-PC.

In real life, however, why would you use one?

Pseudonyms in real life, sorry for the lack of clarification.

That's actually a good question that I'm curious what others think.

The obvious benefit is that you're keeping the girl at maximum distance by not giving any real information. I could see the other advantage being if you have a dorky or very plan name (hi I'm Dan Johnson) you can toss it for something with more flare.

If you're going for a SNL sure, go for it. Otherwise you're going to blow yourself out when you run into a friend or slip up somewhere.

I experimented with this for a short while, since googling "roosh" brings up you-know-what, but went back to roosh. Using a fake shows you care, which we know is one step away from putting pussy on the pedestal.

I think that settles that. I hadn't thought about it that way.

It always amazes me how guys in The Game don’t use aliases. Me? I use tons. Not to sound like a flash bastard, but I have been going on an ID spree and have like 10 full sets now.

Even I am starting to get confused what my real name is. I am Bi-polar with an identity crisis to say the least.

With multiple Aliases you create confusion in the marketplace and lower your chances of girls figuring out who you are. You can even swoop two girls that are best friends.

Hell, I one time swooped the same girl twice, 6 months apart with different names and a haircut. And she was none the wiser.
Mad Futuristic.

I don't see the incentive for lying about your name. Are you looking to protect yourself legally? If I felt a girl might give me that kind of trouble, I'd keep my distance from the start.

I remember some guy saying he wants to use a fake to protect against a "false rape" accusation. If you're gaming a girl and scared of being accused of rape, you should not be playing the game, and probably have some anxiety issue to deal with. Same for guys who are fearful of catch an STD.

RE: Pseudonyms?
I used to give out fake names back when I was younger just to see if I could pull it off. I could be anyone I wanted for the night. It was fun and short lived. I don't really see it as any different from girls giving you fake numbers though, so long as you don't perpetuate it.

I was curious for opinions and it seems that there isnt any major upside to using a false (unless you're G and you're rolling in fake IDs) I've always been curious about this and seems like there's pretty strong reasons not to do it.

Although, doesn't Mystery prove that this could work? Or did he not go by "Mystery" when he'd pick up girls? (assuming his name isnt ACTUALLY Mystery)

I pretty much use the same first name most of the time, but I don't go around advertising my last name very much. These days, it's way too easy to punch a name into a computer--or phone--and pull up shit on someone.

I'm not over-the-top paranoid, but I prefer to lurk (at least partially) in the shadows, especially when it comes to chicks. You never know when you have shift your narrative. Privacy has its benefits.

Not only that but you dont want them to find the wrong person and make assumptions. I know for a fact if you google my name a gay pornstar comes up Dodgy

What Tuthmosis said. Why anyone would be giving out their full name is beyond me (I thought OP was implying he gave out his full name). All a girl needs to know is your first name.

Giving out a pseudonym tells me you're embarrassed of your name or trying to hide something. [If people have called you that pseudonym for years and it's practically your nickname, then it's fine]. But if you're giving yourself a pseudonym IRL, it seems you've got inner game and confidence issues. Just my thoughts.

RE: Pseudonyms?
I've never been a fan of my first name, honestly, I blame my mother for smoking a lot of pot Laugh

I've started just using the highly abbreviated version of my name that isn't as common, for whatever reason the girls love it. Ever since I adopted this approach almost every girl that I give my name to responds with "Oh (name) I like that" Dont ask me why

But yeah, I would NEVER give out my last name unless the girl has been around for quite some time, even then I wouldn't give it without being asked.

I always use my real name in public when on the prowl, which is Moma Darkovic. Lizards love it, because it is macabre and sexy with a reptilian edge.

I've used CJ before, but that's my initials, so it's not really a "fake" name. Haven't really given it much thought. I knew a guy who once introduced himself as "Butter" so I'm kind of interested to see if using a fake name makes any sense.

Also, I now wonder if someone like "Mystery" introduces himself as "Mystery" or uses his name. I can just see how that'd go...

RE: Pseudonyms?
I did a little more reading around and it seems using a fake is situational and it does have one big advantage.

If you're gonna be at a venue you dont frequent, and probably wont ever frequent, I.E. you wont be recognized, a lot of people describing what Gmac said, you get a temporary boost to your confidence because you can be whoever you want. I could see this being a useful trick for a traveler who's gotta go dolo. You basically create a new identity and use it like you're own internal wingman.

I've used fake names before, sometimes they are fun to play around with, but...

If you start banging and hanging out with the girl, you are gonna have to explain why your ID cards say something else and why all your family and friends call you by a different name.

I go by fake names all the time...lol...especially with the ones you know you'll never have a future with.....

I have used
Carlos Escobar
Bobby Brigado (thank you)
Christian Proudfoot -kickapoo nation son
Vladamir - caramel communist

or my nicknames.....I was banging this chick for 4 months under my pen name Carlos Escobar. All her friends called me Carlos and when my boys would roll along with me ..they would fall out laughing @ my stupidity...I crack up when they would call my home phone and my bro would answer and I would hear "Nobody lives here by that name"...click

RE: Pseudonyms?
From what I've heard Mystery does introduce himself as Mystery instead of Erik. It plays into his whole identity of "I'm a magician bitch!"

I once tried to use a fake name but the girl gave me a strange look like she knew it wasn't my name, from there I just stuck with my own.

Always use pseudonyms on Internet. Remember, what you write today gonna stay here forever. And some day you WILL wish it not to be associated with real you in any way.
