16 Ways To Dress Like A Grown Man
I would have put this in the lifestyle section, but the funny comments and overall discussion are more for "everything else."

http://www.buzzfeed.com/spenceralthouse/...-grown-man

Quote:1. Now that your mom isn’t buying your clothes anymore, start following the Style Pyramid.

If a piece of clothing doesn’t adhere to the Style Pyramid — fit, fabric, and style — don’t buy it.

Some good advice here either way.

Looks at some of the butthurt comments:

Quote:More like, '16 ways to dress like your Grandad'.
Quote:...Who likely dressed better than you ever have.

Quote:zero fucks given.
Quote:You're a neckbeard with a fedora, you don't need to verbally indicate you don't care about your appearance.

There might be hope yet...

Quote:how many grown men can fit into a slim fitted shirt? Also, the suits look a bit too tight for an adult male to wear without looking like it’s too small. I actually thought the dude in the silver suit in the beginning of the article looked better on the left. The suit on the right just seemed way too tight to me. Just looking at these tight clothes makes me uncomfortable. Am I one of the few guys here who doesn’t understand how some men can wear these types of ” fitted” clothes and not be uncomfortable? Seriously, is there a trick?

I'm not sure if they were praising these guys in number 5, but check out how cool Newman and Redford were:

They look cool because they are cool, and put a beta guy in those clothes and it's not going to look so cool.

They have body language that expresses alpha- relaxed, un-phased, slightly smirkish, genital framing, etc.

Definitely, it's mostly their personalities, posture, facial expression, vibe. But it works with the clothing style too. I'm sure some guys could pull that look today.

I like studying actors in roles like this. Like Roosh watched Seinfeld before going out, I sometimes watch clips from movies like this.

The comment section is priceless. Great find Gmac.

"Buzzfeed: Condescending Snob Edition."

"unless your ryan gosling, stop telling people what to do, you dumb fuck."

"This is meant to be satirical right?"

"Suits are the tools of conformity and oppression. Fuck that shit. If a women is shallow enough to worry about a man is wearing, then she isn’t worth your time."

"The fact that you actually think less of someone because they don't care about clothes as much as you do says a lot more about you than it does about them. There are far, *far* more important things in life than what you look like."

Genital "framing" (hands in pockets, thumbs loosely horizontal but displayed and bracketing the pubic area) would suggest a confident, perhaps overly confident, state of mind.

Thumbs in pockets, fingers down, arms akimbo, genital framing, is a fairly confident display as well.

You know what?

We should be glad that they're hating on this advice so much.
It makes dressing better than them much more rewarding.

Nope.

I will continue to wear my cargo shorts, thank you very much. I never buy into these articles about "this is what makes you a man", etc....like WHO are the writers? What is their claim to fame?

Does it matter when the advice is (for the most part) spot on?

I think he's mocking the women and homosexuals in the comments, but I'm not entirely sure....Dodgy

Quote:6. Know how and when to wear shorts.

- Never

- When you are on stage playing lead guitar for AC/DC

- When you are a fat gringo in Cancun.

- When your age is less than 7.

^ Yeah that dude should be trolled hard...Renaissance Fair wannabe who needs increased "cultural freedom"

Whenever you hear PC lines like that, it's basically a big red light saying "Stop discriminating against me!"

Mind you to his credit, if he started putting on armor at a young age, it could have been a prudent move to soften the blows from the bullies he sorely deserved
