RE: International Help
Actually I kind of wanted to ask this myself. Im in college also and thinking of doing a study abroad program in 2014. Costa Rica is in my radar as I want to explore Central America myself. The only thing that sucks is that you may have to stay with a host family which will kill your chances to bring back girls.

On the plus side, you will learn the culture, eat well, make live long friends, make connections and learn Spanish.

Trade off.

You can always get a hotel to swoop if you need it.

RE: International Help
Should depend on the program. Your campus' study abroad office should be able to fill you in on the details.

I kind of wish I would have done a homestay. When I went (way back in my blue pill days) I was in a dorm and mostly hung out with other international students, didn't get quite the immersion of a home stay, so G is spot on with that.
