Read the comments. The left has become increasingly deranged. They've basically dropped bread-and-butter issues for non-stop promotion and celebration of gender-bending social degeneracy.

One thing you'll pick up from the blog Dalrock is that the American right ultimately follows along with social trends like this. In other words, just as conservatives are beginning to come around to the pro-gay position, in ten years they'll be supportive of vouchers for privately-run gender re-education camps.

In the end, I think the most pertinent response to these things is to follow the money. Who's funding stuff like this?

My cousin has an adopted six year old boy that apparently wears dresses. Oh sorry they are princess costumes not dresses, letting a 6 year old wear a dress would be wrong. If Isee the kid wearing one I'm not going to be able to keep my mouth shut. Funny thing is their other adopted 6 year old is a pyscho but somehow they don't embrace that and give him bb guns and such.

I hate to be the voice of dissent here, but I think the reason for camps such as this is that too many parents years ago boxed their sons into micro-specific gender roles. What I mean by that is that if you didn't "follow the script" you got shamed...or worse.

Case in point: me.

I was always 100 percent straight. Yet in fourth grade I started reading teenybopper music mags and young adult novels written by Judy Blume. When my dad found out, he started calling me a "pansy" and beat me up so bad I couldn't even go to school the next day. It all ended with me bleeding and crying, having to throw all of the stuff I'd bought with my own saved money a garbage bag, while my dad stood there screaming and my brothers stood around laughing because I was a "faggot."

Is this what you want?

I ended up becoming a writer and eventually an author. Those mags and books formed the foundation of a career where I was never unemployed and also a sought-after freelancer. Had I not gotten shamed for pursuing something I loved early on, I could have been far more successful because I would have been more confident.

While the examples presented in the above article are extreme and hard to stomach, I think we need to be careful of taking our dislike of boys who are different to such an extreme that we damage our sons. Some boys aren't football heroes and prefer books to sports. It's not the end of the world if you have a son like that. And by the way: I bet my dad would consider being part of an all-guy forum like this "pretty queer."

But DOBA, it seems to me that the awful thing that your dad did and gender reeducation camps are the same thing, only the camps are worse because they deal with even younger children and their effects are far more formative. The camps aren't some kind of protection from hyper-masculine norms that will let boys engage in a bit of feminine behaviour, they're instruments for lunatics who decided what gender their children must pretend to be. It's the same thing, only in the opposite direction and more pervasive.

I see your point. Artistic men are different from sports-watching men.
The sports watching guy is actually a caricature of masculinity. He is the Homer Simpson.
Historically men were artists, thinkers, scientists. Now they just watch other men run around on TV and play video games.
