Look at how he frames the question about corruption.

I like the idea behind Vice but I sometimes get sanctimonious SWPL vibes from them as opposed to any feeling of objective journalism.

This is bullshit by the way. I used to subconsciously stick my pinky out for no reason when I had a drink in my hand until I realized I was doing it (I was 22 and my domineering girlfriend at the time gave me shit for it). The same goes for other subconscious habits with all sorts of people. It just means you trained yourself to do something like holding a glass a certain way. That sort of judgment is ignorant.

...before watching this video I honestly thought it was gonna show some Russian guy living the life I can only dream of. Instead I saw an overweight guy with no sense of style, a K-d out former beauty queen, and a bunch of silly religious collectibles. Based only on this video -I wouldn't trade my life for his in an instant.

That being said, I respect that he's doing what he wants when he wants to and that perhaps the true fun stuff that he does with his money isn't something he wants on video for PC reasons.

one thing that struck me instantly was that the american interviewer ryan duffy was wearing a white undershirt with a pullover fleece....

while russian dude is suited up. you can see at the table when they are eating that the russian dude is sitting back, "wtf is this clown doing at my place"....and the american guy looks a little fearful behind his ironic "im too cool" attitude...

the main image at the beginning with the guy lounging in his track-shorts seems to be taken at a completely different time period as when this interview was taken. imo vice is trying to clown the guy, but his suited up demeanor and seriousness gives a completely different story.

Could have been a cool interview if the reporter actually spoke Russian and asked good questions. Instead we get get a piece with a lot of the reporter's hipster posturing and ironic commentary.
