To make things easier consider this, in both countries 85% of the population is amerindian or mestizo(a mestizo which looks more amerindian than european), and the rest 15%(or maybe less) is white from european descent. There is also a difference, a small asian community in peru that i didnt see in mexico..

Mexico is 12% indigenous compared to Peru which is 45% indigenous. No way in hell do Mexicans or Peruvians look the same.

That 12% figure measures not genetic ancestry but cultural identification. It's no secret that the vast majority of Mexicans do not identify as indigenous. It doesn't change the fact that virtually all have substantial native ancestry.

I concur with Pegador. If you are living in BA, have a decent pad, tight bankroll and speak ok Spanish, I dont see you not getting more than your fair share. Would you be fucking a 7.5-10 every other night? Probably not, but you'll do better than you do back in the US.

Argentina is really one of the few places I have been to other than Puerto Rico which I consider "race neutral" In other words, being Black\White\latino of any hue is neither a
advantage or disadvantage outside of very specific fishbowls (A brotha with dreads at a reggue concert or a Dominican at an Adventura concert.)

I never said 85% of Mexicans look European. All im saying is that Peruvians and Mexicans do not look the same. Mexico has 12% of its population being indigenous, while another 14 or 15% or so being of pure European descent and 1 or 2% African. That leaves around 68-70% of people left which are Mestizo. And Mestizos in Mexico are about 55-60% European or more. These two are a great example:

George Lopez is 55% European and 32% Indigenous.

Jessica Alba (whose parents are from Guadalajara, Mexico by the way) is 87% European and 13% indigenous.

The thing is that you will not get discriminated in Argentina because there is very few mexican living in the country, and thus, perople still does not have a solid image of that nationality. You will be welcome, and you will be an interesting conversation topic, but it will not gave you unlimited access to pussy compared to anybody else.

Foe example, colombians were like that some years ago, but now, as there is a solid number of Colombians living in Buenos Aires, people have created a image of that nationality (colombians in BA beign or university students or thiefs (yeap, there is a noteworthy number of colombians doing crimes here in BA).

Not necessarily. Look at the previous example of George Lopez. GL looks more amerindian than anything yet he is 55% european. Jessica Alba to me looks like she would have more indigenous in her but she doesnt, shes 87% European which is whiter than what Larry David scored which was 63% European.

I banged a girl from Spain last year that was the exact same color as Jessica Alba and she was 100% European. You can't necessarily tell from the skin color. You have to look more at the facial features.

Her facial features look very Caucasian to me. She doesn't look the slightest bit indigenous at all.

Spaniards vary quite a bit in color, some are very pale and Nordic looking if they are from N. Spain which has a lot of Celtic ancestry. And then you have guys like Javier Bardem who are quite dark, probably from Moorish genes.

RE: American latinos in Argentina
speakeasy dropping truth bombs on this issue, and Teedub winging him...sounds like a typical Latino thread to me. Ha. You're spot on about Spain, many Spaniards look like this:

Whilst many look more like this:

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ8SRYiJpIZFg51IWNwPno...m6LcJSIAyy]

And I agree it's due to the North African/Arab influence. That said though, Zinedine Zidane is Algerian and looks as 'fully' white as any French person I've ever seen. Funny thing is, the guy I posted above is Spanish obviously, but if he was American and but with a Spanish surname, he'd have people left, right and center saying he has some "indigenous" blood in him. I think a lot of times, these American 'latinos' such as De La Hoya, have basically no indigenous DNA at all, but to a lot of Americans "white" means English, German etc - they haven't been to Europe and seen that that isn't the case. Anyway, we've discussed this at length before!

To the OP, nobody outside of the U.S knows what a "Latino" or a "Hispanic" is. There, as I'm sure you are aware, you're white, black, asian, indigenous or mixed. The U.S would be much more sensible to adopt the Brazilian style of racial categories. However, the political parties need to lump all the Spanish speakers into one group to encourage bloc-voting etc. It's all politics and it's all bullshit.

Here in Argentina the only onw using the "latino" term are the left-wing wackos when they speak about "latin-american brotherhood" against the evil evil USA Empire.

Zinedine Zidane is a good example of a white Arab. Just like "Latino" people don't seem to realize that "Arab" isn't really a sigular race either and they aren't all dark skinned. Some of them have light hair and eyes just like any European. Syria has many white Arabs, such as the late Steve Jobs who was Adopted by Americans. I met an Algerian girl a few years ago who I'd have thought was a Brazilian mulatta. She looked half black and half white. Nothing like a what you imagine a stereotypical Arab woman to look like.

^ That isn't all that surprising considering North Africa's close proximity to 'proper' (read: black) Africa. I'm not actually sure if North Africa is considered Arab actually, I guess it is, due to the Muslim thing, but that's about it. However, you're completely correct in your analysis that 'Arabs', at least nowadays, aren't a singular group.

What has been baffling me recently is the fact that Kim Kardashian is considered 'white' in the US, but Lionel Messi isn't. Look at the both of them and tell me who is more stereotypically 'Euro' looking! This 'Latino is a race' thing literally drives me insane, it's so ridiculous to anyone outside America. As you know!

I don't think she's considered white here. I think she's considered "exotic". Most people outside California wouldn't even know what the hell an Armenian is.

I'd mentioned this on another thread, but the reason she's able to have so many public relationships with black men and not have her brand tarnished is because most see her as "non-white". If Taylor Swift or some similarly Nordic-looking white celebrity made a video sucking Ray J's dick, her career would be done.

Not to jump into another "race thread" or anything, but Kim Kardashian wouldn't really be considered "white" in America. At all.

I have mentioned on here before, I am half-Spanish, half-Irish, it is was questionable growing up whether or not I was considered "white" growing up.

Ah, its just I read an article discussing her relationship with Kanye West, and it was going on about how he's a black American going out with a "white reality star", and how much stick he gets for it.

Before you say it, I know I shouldn't really be basing my findings on such a puerile article!

Edit: It was actually a review for KW's album: http://www.rapreviews.com/archive/2013_06F_yeezus.html
