RE: "How to" book for "rapists" turns into death threats
"so why is there such an outcry about the money issue? It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.."
Their supposed goal is not their real goal.
This is about their emotions, their feelings. The words, ideas, etc. associated with and contained in the book hurt people's feewings. The book should not be allowed to exist. Nothing, the book, these ideas, that hurts their feewings in any way should ever be allowed to exist.
Even if the project had been cancelled and refunded, even if given censorship, apologies, reparations, and total submission, they still wouldn't be appeased until they ensured a future where their feewings would never be hurt again, and then they'd still find something else...
I anticipate some kind of outcry when the book is announced on Amazon but we'll see.

RE: "How to" book for "rapists" turns into death threats
"Amazon doesn't bend easily to complaints. They have a strong free-speech stance."
Nice. I think at a minimum I expect negative "Customer Reviews" mostly from people who haven't purchased or read the book. I'm curious given the high profile drama from the Kickstarter project and apology etc. if an Amazon book launch will be greeted with a flurry of negative blog posts, tweets, etc. It sounds like Amazon will sell the book regardless of drama... based on your experience and the general observation that indeed there are already many seduction books, some with very negative "Customer Reviews", which Amazon is still apparently happily selling.
"What if some gay dude wrote a seduction guide..."
Kickstarter might say "We here at Kickstarter agree LGBT are super special, but because the evil rapiss men ruined it for everybody no one can use Kickstarter for seduction products, not even the LGBT. We're very sorry. Blame it on the evil rapiss men. We're very sorry. We've donated some money to a LGBT thing."

RE: "How to" book for "rapists" turns into death threats
I was going to copy and paste some of the comments. (Specially those of the author), but oh gawd, have a look at them yourself. I really cant bring myself to do it.
Quote:"This may sound terrible, but the first thing my wife said when I described PUAs to her. She said, "Why don't they pay for sex? Why go through all his?" It's a good question. Prostitution goes in and out of style, and in the Western world it's currently in ascendance because of Craigslist and other sites.
Paying for sex is seen as a failure. But it's actually part of the social fabric. It exists because of demand, and the current setup allows some women (and men) to set up circumstances that are physically and disease-wise safe rather than where people are in a position of desperation and abuse. Some cities and countries have referral and recommendation services, even."
From the author, two times winner of Jeopardy.
Apparently, they also believe PUA tricks render women unable to resist the sexual advances of a sleazy nerd.
Quote:"...turning women into not just sexual objects but essentially treating that cisgendered biological configuration as a Turing-complete machine in which specifying the right sequence of inputs results in access to specific ports and protocols."
Oh, yeah. Pick up artists are nerds. Yeah. Them, not us. We are not some turing-complete machine for them to fuck.

Most things on kickstarter are scams taking advantage of people wanting to feel "a part of something larger" despite the fact that no profits will be given to them like they would a normal investor. No wonder they banned this to keep their main demographic happy. Can't let that cash cow leave.
Personally I wish kickstarter would just cease to exist, its amazing the amount of people that fall for the bullshit on that site.
Interesting question though, is it alpha to take a beta position to scam millions of dollars off betas?
You obviously have no idea what either a scam or Kickstarter are. It is essentially a pre-order site. Pre-orders have been around forever. You may think they are stupid, or not like them for whatever reason, but they are not a scam.
People give money to get a product which isn't finished yet, and in return they get a discount or a guarantee on the item. They know the product isn't finished. They know they must wait to get it. And they agree to all of this. That isn't a scam.
You may think it is stupid, but not everything you disagree with is a scam. Just like not every sexual encounter where the guy doesn't ask the girl for permission is rape.
Your description of kickstarter makes you look like the fool here not me.
Kickstarter is anything but a pre-order site. You are investing in a product that has not been completed and may possibly not be completed. There are multiple cases where when the money was received the final product was either non-existent or completely half assed.
The fact that you think it is a pre order site is indicative as to my point that it is a scam, the advertisements of many company's on that site would love you to believe you are simply pre ordering their product.
Also you state that you get a discount typically? In actuality you typically pay a significant premium to the final price.
I'm not saying this should be illegal, but many of the company's on the site are very shady at best.

The moment i saw the pic he used for the article, and his use of the "cisgender" term, i realize that the author, Glenn Fleishman, will only barf the tipical feminazi rethoric.
Here is one very interesting answer by Marko Raos:
Quote:Any sales or business-oriented "motivational" class or PR course at uni, for that matter, does pretty much the same, only by way of treating the whole rest of humanity as less than human, regardless of sex. I find most criticism against PUA as nothing more than simple prudery. And besides, what they're selling is mostly harmless, nothing more than a bit of social psychology, techniques for boosting male self-esteem in today's society. All PUA "tricks" basically boil to this - "confidence gets you laid" and "fake it till you make it". I don't see anything inherently evil in this, quite the contrary. Of course, there are a-holes in there and those psychological techniques can be used for harm, but so can pretty much any other self-improvement system.
p.s. I've been studying PUA as a part of my ongoing research into various practical psychological systems and a friend of mine had... let's say a bit of a shyness problem. I gave him a bestselling popular book on the subject and within 1 month he made his first "score". Funnily, that was his last "score" using PUA because that lady became his wife and now they're very happily married. I guess the techniques were so effective she simply refused to give him away...
"What is important is to try to develop insights and wisdom rather than mere knowledge, respect someone's character rather than his learning, and nurture men of character rather than mere talents." - Inazo Nitobe
When i´m feeling blue, when i just need something to shock me up, i look at this thread and everything get better!
