I needed some underwear so yesterday I walked to the department store thats near my place. They had a store wide sale, so I looked around.

Theres this suit on sale, brand name, but cheap. For around $70 bucks I could walk out of there with a nice looking suit (polyester blend, though, so not G approved).

So basically what Im asking is, should I take the chance to buy this suit on the cheap, or save and get a better one, perhaps custom, when I get the chance?

I recently bought another suit also on sale, ended up paying around $150 for a wool slim fit 2 button.

I guess im getting a suit addiction.

As long as it fits and looks good, who cares? You can always get it tailored afterward.

It actually fits perfectly, no need for adjustments but the pants length.

Don't expect to get much wear out of it, I generally stay away from Polyester.

Cheaper suits will wear fast and you'll notice the difference after you dry clean them, but I still buy them because they are affordable and still look good.

I wouldn't recommend a poly blend. Wool looks a lot sharper and stays looking sharp a lot longer.

Yeah spend a bit more and get it adjusted if it doesn't fit perfectly. Its not to expensive and increases your style points massively.

Going for my second fitting on my new suit tomorrow. Living in Asia is good for that, would no way be able to afford custom back home.

A bit of synthetic is not necessarily a bad thing. For me personally, I have to wear natural materials for breath-ability, as I am a bit of a sweater.

I have a polyester blend G Star blazer that roasts me from the inside out, while a wool blazer with a bemberg lining keeps me comfortable.

If the suits fits great and you can handle synthetic fabrics on the body go for it. But as others have said, it might not stand up to lots of wear.

Poly blends tend to be hot and don't dry clean well.

But that's only important if you're wearing the suits to a job where that sort of thing matters.

I dont aways mow my lawn. But when I do, its poly suited down.

Nothing matters more than fit. I've had tailored suits that were tailored by retards (or more likely, tailors who have no idea how to fit a fit man) and off the shelf jackets that fit like a glove.

If you're getting a custom tailored suit, ask to see their other work and see if the style works for you. If it doesn't, go to another tailor.
