Although, I never said that it wasn't a regular occurrence when in that type of relationship. I implied that a lot of it was considerably more than a "flight", and it has been. I appreciate the attempt at mediation, but I wasn't going to suggest that anyone be shown the door.

Also, I wasn't going to throw the 'racist' label around, although there were some clearly racist sentiments in that post. It shouldn't be put in my mouth that I called Kona a racist. I'm sure that most of us have our frustrated moments.

I just wanted to suggest that the sentiments that were made weren't necessary or fair to the other white guys here. Also, there seems to be a clear double standard with race oriented comments. For instance, if I had trouble with a black or brown man from the forum, I think that it would go less unnoticed if I peppered a frustrated response with "that's the problem with black/brown people" type sentiments and the racial slurs that are attached to those races. If, in anger, I used the word "n" word or any of the numerous racial slurs for the various races of 'brown' people at any given point in time, would it be rational for me to expect any men of those races to interact with me as if I hadn't referred to them as such in the past?

If you think that racial co-mingling in Hawaii is difficult, try living in a crowded miserable east coast city, rife with suffocating expanses of ghetto wasteland, where the ratio is something like 40:40:10:10. Most of us refrain from having such racially oriented outbursts in a social environment, or at all, and we don't have paradise to sooth us in the times in-between the occasional frustrations. The reward is that we are able to keep friends of different races who fall outside of any learned generalizations, even if those generalizations are accurate some/much of the time.

I was making a joke about the door. That said, I don't take offense to his comments and I'm a white man. I'm an individual, and the day he says that to me then we have beef. But that guy has been cool to me and that's why I wrote what I did.

I'm tired of this tribalism. We're individuals and all this home team shit is beyond worn out. I do understand where you're coming from and I didn't mean to infer that you were calling Kona a racist. That was not my intent.

Personally, I lump most people into two categories. "Standup" individuals, or punks. The racist names are just another word for "Punk" based on that persons skin color.

That said, Lumeire has always been cool to me as well and if that's how he acted, then I'm surprised.
