Being a New Yorker, there is an automatic "street cred" you get when you tell someone you're from Brooklyn or the Bronx. I see it all the time when I travel around the country. I think people from Boston and Philly may get that as well.

I have more rep points than bangs so I will agree with the above.

About the whole Cali vs. East Coast thing, I'd rather grow up in a place where I didn't need super tight game because the girls are down to earth and relatively easy to bang than growing up in a place where I needed to develop advanced game just to get in a girl's pants.

This may be a reason why, in general, your average Canadian guy's game won't compare to many in the USA, because our girls are very sweet and easy to game (exceptions being Tdot and Van). So naturally the guys who come to California are more likely than others to be visionaries.

Marijuana usage was normalized in California. Adults here don't hide drug use. I can tell professionals that I rolled and no one bats and eye and most wish they had been there.

So even though California has problems, the kind of people who come to California are those who feel like they don't have enough room for their minds to grow in other areas. People from California want more.

Thus, things that might seem off the wall to the rest of the country (bodybuilding, drug use, game) are par for the course here.

Go to Iowa and say, "I read some article on the Internet about meeting women. Let's try this," and some macho repressed homosexual might not be friends with you.

Your friend might be lying about being from California, since that's some gramma nazi shit. Is he the guy who says, "You can't write L.A. as LA. LA is Louisiania." Yeah, those periods are so important.

Guess it all depends on what it means to be "from" a place.

I was miserable growing up and thought I had clinical depression.

Moved to SoCal and the "depression" was immediately cured.

Anyhow, two of my good friends both grew up here.

Only difference between natives and immigrants is that natives have better stories about people who are now in Hollywood because they all went to school together. My friend is friends with the guy who knocked up Jessica Alba, for example, and another friend hooked up with some of the Kardashians.

But a lot of people come and go.

To come to Cali and stay you have to find some sort of success, since it's expensive to be here, driving is a pain in the ass, and the women are not easy.

I grew up in Berkeley and went to college in Santa Barbara and live in Los Angeles.

It is definitely NOT legal to grow in California. The grow houses are constantly being raided by police and shut down. This is a major mismanagement of the police force but that is really a different discussion entirely.

Again, weed is definitely not as legal and easy as you seem to think.
