Disagree. Averaging produces better than average faces since it eliminates extremes. Attractive=proportional.

I think this is a dupe. The one I saw had more countries as well.

Regardless. Definitely disagree. I can tell you right now the average Peruvian girl doesn't look like the one represented, and I'm willing to be most of those are far better looking than the average girl than the countries represented.

Lemmo is correct in remarking that "Averaging produces better than average faces since it eliminates extremes. Attractive=proportional." I incidentally explain this here:

This does not mean that average-looking girls are actually the most attractive. Arithmetically average != of average attractiveness.

I do agree, however, that there may be an issue of sample size per country and that the n of ~= 4000 is overstated and/or misrepresented, or that there is material sampling bias. I concur that an average of randomly sampled Peruvian girls would not look like that--the composite in the link looks "too" European admixed.

Populations that are very similar genetically look much different than one would expect. In particular, I have in mind the German vs. French vs. English, and Chinese vs. Taiwanese. Although one could also argue that this is an illustration of how small genetic differences could have large effect sizes.

The European composites are all very cute. The Swede and the Mediterranean ones, especially.

The Uzbek is a smokeshow.

The Japanese and Taiwanese are better than I expected, especially vis a vis similar populations like the Korean and Chinese, respectively.

I've always been bearish on SEA girls when it comes to looks, and the composites seem to corroborate that. I think they are way overrated on this forum due to the ease of attainability of Thai and Philippine girls.

The exception to my SEA bearishnesss is Vietnamese girls, but they don't come across to well in the composite either.

Ethiopian composite looks the worst out of the black Africa composites, where one would expect them to be the best.

I'm assuming the reason you mostly meet white South Africans abroad is because they are the ones with money. My friends who have visited tell me the same thing.

Its not a real composite from what I can see. Maybe the guys should have shown a test case if at all his process was Balanced and not biased.

It does seem kinda agreeable, but the average Hungarian and Iranian girls don't look that.

I mean again, read what I wrote above in post #7. There's no way this is anywhere close to accurate when 90% of South African women are black yet the girl represented is white. This should be called something more like, "What the average 7+ looks like from each country." Plus, I can promise you the girl representing Peru is much nicer looking than at least 80% of the girls you will meet in Peru.

It seems these composites are based only on the pictures taken by the photographer. I'm guessing women shown there is white because mostly white women in South Africa were photographed. Maybe this is why the sample is somewhat inaccurate. It could be that the "average" women is more indicative of the photographer's personal Preference.

I would suspect composition bias yet, however the main reason is that with a large enough population sample, you are going to approach perfect symmetry. Symettery is known to bea feature of beauty, thus the result will extrapolate to more than average as it inherits an exceptional feature.
