Well Hollister is more geared towards high-school. A&F's target demo is 18-27ish pretty kids.

As a non-White it's great for contrast game: it signals my status as a Oreo. Which I confirm by referring to stories from college and Everybody Loves Raymond.

My only gripe with A&F is that they have the company name on almost everything: who needs TV ads when you customers are billboards?

We need to compile a list of red pill companies like A & F for investment purposes. I willing to bet a portfolio with businesses that hold red pill values probably make better investments in the long run.

In NY, Abercrombie is pretty much played out now. Hollister is the top dog here now, with American Eagle, Aeropostale and THEN Abercrombie bringing up the rear. A few years ago, you saw a lot of it on the streets, but not now. Just the same the idea of not making certain sizes though. Many high-end clothing designers have done that for years.

I have an attractive sister who used to work at ambercrombie. She was placed on general floor duty while her less attractive friend was stuck in the stockroom.

I read about this policy at AF. They put the attractive white employees on the floor, and everyone else was kept out of sight...HA HA! And of course, their catalog was the same...

I saw an article on this - http://elitedaily.com/news/world/abercro...at-chicks/ , where people in the comments were furious. Saying they would never support this company and how the CEO was ugly. LMAO, it's a marketing strategy, has nothing to do with the CEO thinking he is attractive. Designer brands do this all the time, they don't stock large sizes, this isn't new. I guess it is catching attention just because it's more of a mass market brand.

I'm all for not stocking larger sizes, but their whole "cool kids" marketing thing is kind of ridiculous. Maybe in Kansas City AF is "cool", but no one with an ounce of fashion sense in NYC is wearing their shit anymore.

Here's Mike Jeffries, the man behind A&F (yeah, he dyes his hair blond):

In 2005, the femcunts "gircotted" A&F because of their "sexist" t-shirts for women:

Quote:Pity the flat-chested brunette who shops at A&F. One shirt screams, “Who needs a brain when you have these?” Another moans: “I had a nightmare I was a brunette.” My personal favorite features the phrase “The Freshman 15″ above a list of boys’ names penned in a feminine hand. (Nice work, A&F! You squeezed both sexism and promiscuity into that one!)

Some fat girl from school was complaining about this on facebook about a week ago.

Threatening to boycott Abercrombie and what not.

I asked her how she's going to boycott a company that doesn't even produce clothes that fit her size.( the max they have is size 10).

She ended up undfriending me !

RE: Abercrombie - Fat Shaming Business Plan?
My girl works for a company whose euro owner refuses to carry sizes larger than say, an American 6 for women. Apparently the clothes are his work of art and larger body types ruin the look (no shit). They don't want fat people wearing their clothes. Surprised they didn't make the news too.

Americans are in denial, it's sad our culture has been shaped to include (rather than shame) fat people. Twenty years ago you'd be hard-pressed to find larger sizes of anything. Companies didn't cater to fat people, you had to shop at "Big and Tall."

Ask any foreigner what they think of Americans and they'll probably answer with either: "fat, celebrity-obsessed, ignorant, and/or world police". God bless Amurika!

I couldn't believe when I saw famous women's brands in over XL sizes
Is it required by the law to carry all sizes??

Most popular women brands don't carry sizes over 8 in my country. it wasn't designed for them to wear. so why would they let them ruin the look?

Isn't it the same everywhere? go to restaurants. who's at front? who's serving the plates for you? who's in the kitchen doing dirty work? who's cleaning?

Oh btw, if they put some chinese face on their cover, who the heck is going to buy?

RE: Abercrombie - Fat Shaming Business Plan?
I believe when Gianni Versace was asked why he didn't produce a line of clothes with a lower price point, he responded, "I don't want those kind of people wearing my clothes," or something to that effect. He was bold enough to say it, but many designers feel that way about their lines. Both with regard to sizes, and simply keeping their shit exclusive to a certain class of people.

I would disagree that it's that drastic at restaurants. All waitresses aren't hot. The hostess probably is, but not there rest of the staff that has contact with the customers.

Benetton always used different ethnicities in their advertising. At the same time, they were targeting a different customer, and sold more than t-shirts and preppy clothing...

I honestly didn't think people who could legally buy alcohol still shopped at A&F and Hollister. Weird.

I would be happy to invest in A&F because statements like this indicate to me (as a potential investor) that their management has a marketing vision and a commitment to their preferred clientele. They're not going to alienate beautiful people for the sake of politics.
Their stock went up ~6% after the fat shaming comments blew up in the media so others agree as well.

Well, first of all i guess that to donate they have to buy it first, right?

and second,i don't understand what they are complaining about :

This “campaign” is neither “Awesome!” nor “Perfect.” or “Brilliant!” And here’s why:

While I am sure the creator had good intentions (“I can humiliate Abercrombie & Fitch while helping people in need!!!“), what it ends up doing is using people experiencing homelessness as pawns to make a political statement.

They are upset because homeless people get clothes for free? Confused

Cracked.com, following its cowardly shift into PC / feminist waters, has an article bashing Abercrombie for its "no fatties policy".

Shame. I really liked Cracked once upon a time.
