Anybody Going to NAGA This Weekend?
Heading to NAGA Grappling Championships this weekend in NJ. First time competing at a big tournament. Just curious if anybody else on RVF was going.

RE: Anybody Going to NAGA This Weekend?
Cool I might be up for another tournament around June, I'll look into both of those. Do you know the pre-fight interviews go to determine divisions/prevent sandbagging? I've been a member of my gym for longer than 2 years but I've been rolling less than 2 (was doing muay thai prior) and only rolling 1-2 days a week on average until recently. I just want to make sure they will take my word for it when I say less than 2 years. (The divisions are novice 6mos-2yrs, intermediate 2yrs-5yrs.)

At the tournaments I've been to (COPA and grapplers quest) they just take your word for your experience. You will get tons of sandbagers. At the last COPA NOVA there was a blue belt who said he had only been training no gi for 3 months and got into the novice divison even though he had been grappling for 3 years (gi only). I know this because that asshole goes to my gym. Tons more no gi sandbagging assholes than gi.
