This is true. When I lived in New Jersey everyone would always tell me they were from "FUCKIN' NOO YAWK" even if they left the city for NJ suburbs when they were like three years old.

I grew up in a tourist town in the South. Every summer we had to endure arrogant assholes from the North coming down and acting like their shit didn't stink. NY, NJ, CT, ect. All the same breed of pricks.

If that wasn't bad enough, the snow birds came, and never left. In extreme cases my dad would bow up and tell them to get the fuck out of his establishment.

Many times I've had to put them in their place. They are just shit talking pussies, and won't fight back. They assume every person in the South is ignorant. How ironic.

I was born in Harlem and raised all over tri state area I have never once heard someone say New York and make it sound like Noo Yawk. When I say 'Noo Yawk' out loud it sounds like I'm asking for an egg white omelette and telling the guy no yolk.

NYU students are probably the most naive know it all insular people in Manhattan. They have some solid graduate and post-grad programs such as their Law or Med school, but most of their undergrads are hipster style over substance going into 200K+ debt for a liberal arts degree. I wouldn't recommend NYC for the college scene, but it's probably a much better place to live in if you can work there as a young professional with the right job offers.

I don't have a problem with the transplants in NYC as I used to be one myself. There are some that move there with an intelligent worldly view, but there are also a lot that relocate there & claim to be these "diehard NYs" trying to overcompensate for the fact that they grew up in a small midwest town somewhere thinking they're the end all/be all....kinda like that dumbass cunt Carrie Bradshaw of SITC who is sold on the fact that nothing exists outside of NYC....except Paris.

Thats SOOO true.Us locals really use Manhattan for hook ups but in the end LTR comes from the boroughs. The Carrie Bradshaw type are easy but they have NONE of the edge that makes someone a NYC girl.
Agreed great for beginning a career as a professional, BUT for quality of life at one point unless you hit it BIG its best to move where prices are more reasonable.
