I wouldn't blame HBO. I would blame the idiot Americans who watch TV as a form of life, who like to gossip about celebrities and watch American Idol instead of educating themselves on their own political system. I think shows like Oprah and The View do much more damage anyway.

Not only that, but after that exchange Dunham's producer/friend Jenni Konner said she was in a "rage spiral" because the reporter "would talk to a woman like that."

This is what is so maddening about modern feminism. They get to have tattoos, talk lewd, go naked, do whatever. Fine. But call them on it and you get accused of "talking to A WOMAN (!!!) like that" as if you'd just insulted the honor of a Victorian era damsel.

As many have said, they want to privileges but not the responsibilities. It's the modern world when they want to do whatever, but when the going gets rough for them it's 1875 and they're helpless "ladies."

Will Ferrell's character in Anchorman is a personal role model of mine. He wears suits all the time, has salon quality hair and nothing women can say to him shocks him out of his self-imposed reality.
