Cuba: Anyone been there lately
Folks would be interested on the latest info in Cuba as I'm thinking of traveling there end of the year.

I have heard about clubs like Salon Rojo, Dos Gardenias, La Maison etc and was wonder on the 1 - 10 scale what kind of girls would be in this clubs.

Which city are these clubs located in?
Never heard of them.
Cuba is mainly p4p if that's your thing. Even if you're not looking for it, it will still find you

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
Was there a few years ago. Sad place, so much potential.

P4P is rampant, I dont care for it. I was even offered a 16-year old 'virgin' with an ass 'as hard as this table'. Oh, and it was his cousin. Wild levels of hustle.

Cant really blame them, desperation makes people do questionable things.

Your best bet is Russians and other travelers. Some hotel will not allow guests, so do you homework. Shoring is well-night impossible without social circle, even speaking fluent Spanish.

I hear it's a great place. I definitely want to go after hearing what some of my friends have told me. Not because of the women, but because it just sounded so foreign and strange.

I have met two guys that have been there. They both told me that they do not stamp your passport upon arrival or departure.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
I was there in the summer of 2009.. Family trip but still managed to go out like 3 times with some French dudes I met, only in Havana though. I did notice some p4p but plenty of normal girls as well, good looking if you like the curvy Latina type. Cubans go crazy when they go out, they love to dance and love to mingle with other people. Banged two local girls, both spoke English and loved European guys. Am not sure if it would be the same in the less touristic areas outside Havana though. Some other advantages are Cuba is really safe and has plenty of stuff to do besides game.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
Salon Rojo = 110% hookers. If any guy ever tells you he got laid at Salon Rojo without paying he is lieing lets put it that way. Enrique Iglesias would have to pay here.

Dos Gardenias varies but usually lots of hookers.

La Maison = Had some awesome nights here but it doesn't appear popular anymore. When people speak of La Maison they are speaking of The Piano Bar generally speaking in terms of clubbing. La Maison is a fashion house and theres a tiny night club. It did use to attract scorching hot talent but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore.

Not sure I'd agree with Cuba having plenty of stuff to do besides game...this applies only in Havana.

" plenty of normal girls as well" should be noted as also saying not at discos in Havana. Discos are heavily and I mean heavily populated by girls who are prostitutes. I can't stress this enough.

With that said there is usually a couple off beat places which attract local high end talent amongst the local rich. Finding those places is a daunting task especially for someone who doesn't live or spend great deals of time in Cuba. I haven't been in Cuba in nearly 2 months and I already can't tell you what places are in.

Cuba is very safe for the general tourist. Once you start rolling around in nightclubs outside of the typical Casa de la musica (where they check you for weapons with some sort of scanner) then it ca be wildness. Walk the streets in Old Havana after the disco closes on a weekend. Id be surprised if you saw less than a couple fights. I can't count the number of fights I've seen in Cuba.

Luckily I've never seen nor heard of guns.

A 16 year old virgin in Cuba????Doesn't exist lol. One thing that until recently benefitted foreigners was a lack of local competition/ lack of Cubans with money returning to the island...Now that Cubans are more easily going from US --> Cuba with all the flights you see a lot more "Weekend Millionaire" types. It hurts with the high end girls but not really a big issue in general.

I am curious as to what will happen in Cuba now that Chavez has died.

Il be in Holguin/Havana May-September and always extend a welcome to anyone.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
I live there for pleasure. Where did you go out in Havana. You probably just weren't very aware of what was going on around you.

The girls who look at you when you walk centro/ old havana etc...are prostituting. Some may try to knab you as a long term guy and not ask for cash but thats the reality.

What night clubs did you go to that weren't 50% or more prostiutes in Havana? Theres a couple but they are few and far apart and if theres no prostitutes theres likely NO Tourists, and it's unlikely to be a place a short time visitor would find.

What are you chasing tully mars?

Havana has tons of restaurants and probably 50 or so nightclubs. (This is a rough estimate but theres a lot.) You could eat 5 times a day in Havana for 2 weeks and never eat in the same place twice.

Outside of Havana you will likely find cuba exceptionally boring. Theres not a lot going on in the smaller cities. Santiago could be an exception but I don't go there as all the Cubans I know suggest its dangerous and a more violent culture than elsewhere.

If you want a nice beach you can visit cayo coco or varadero as they are on that side of the island.

Lots of people find the cobblestones in trinidad beautiful. I thought it was very pretty but overall I found it to be boring with not much going on.

I just noted the clubs that the OP had heard about. Many go back and brag of beautiful woman and beautiful woman there are at those places but with a direct price!

To answer OP's original question as to the quality of girls in each place.

La Maison (Tuesdays --> before 9/10) now probably mediocre or even near empty.

Salon Rojo (8.75/10) --> 1000% prostitutes. Girls have many expenses to be there each night so trust me when I say shoring ain't happening. I've seen guys there who may have given Enrique Iglesias a run for his money decked out in clothes that cost more than an entire wardrobe for 99.99% of people and still paying customers.

Dos Gardenias (7.5)

I'm typically in Cuba in the summers which is nice because less prostitution as there are less girls going to discos looking to make a buck and wandering streets. This is also contibuted to the fact that many girls go to Havana to make money in the winter's when tourists are coming in full force and then go back to there village or city in some cases.

Some of you guys may assume I rate very highly based on the rating I gave those places but OP has listed a couple of the most expensive places in Cuba. Hence they get a high girl rating. For Cuba Salon Rojo is damn well near the most expensive if not the most expensive.

Rule of thumb, if you've heard of the place prior to going it's probably a hooker joint.

I have not been back to to Havana in almost 7 years I would think the food still sucks. Do you research on "Paladars" basically a restaurant in somebody's house. The food was much better and the service too.

Food has improved greatly since 7 years ago! The food was terrible but now there are plenty of enjoyable meals to have. You will not get a 5* NYC dining experience but plenty of good food is available.

I don't know anything about Meyer Lansky. Havana Riviera Hotel has a disco that can be decent at times. That I do know.

In Havana I typically eat in government restaurants, Los Nardos, Barrio Chino, Prado y Neptuno. But yes, outside of Havana eating in paladares will likely lead to a far better dining experience in terms of quality of food.

Honestly, it sounds like it's not even worth it trying to shore. Just pay and get it over with, but don't brag how you banged a 10.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
It depends where, amongst high end girls at the expensive clubs in Havana good luck with shoring. Too many bigger fish are trying the same thing. Theres also too many control mechanisms in place there. Sure some guys date a girl and get her to "quit" but they don't mention the large monthly allowance she receives.

They have too much money invested in each night out to be going home for fun with a guy. Plus most of them are married and or have a serious boyfriend. Hence, the lack of interest.

I'm of the impression places like Thailand are different where shoring is widely possible. This isn't to say no one can or does ever shore. But there are often bone head reports i hear from friends or via the internet.

If you become engaged and make local friends you won't even be worried about shoring youll find great chicks regardless. But for a 1 week trip this is difficult to do.

Another problem is if you ask for someone to help and bring you a girl they think you'd like even if the guy has honest intentions he'll probably bring "that chick" in the barrio who everyone knows hooks up with foreigners for money.

I've met plenty of Cuban guys though who are the boyfriends/ husbands of very attractive hookers so I mean if they can shore I guess its possible. But going to specific discos like Cecila, Rojo to shore is personally in my opinion downright ridiculous.

There are discos which are "near" hooker free but it depends on the night / band hence I can't really tell you specific discos as 6 nights out of 7 it will suck.

I usually do a detailed analysis of whose playing (musician)/ venue/ cover / location and then decide. Usually this works out well for me as I know what venues will attract what type of girl and music but this again isn't realistic for a short term vacation. I also contact Cuban friends who are in the scene to find out where they believe the party is.

My post was not well worded. Of course you banged if you paid or not, I meant that paying and banging a 10 is not an accomplishment comparable to seducing such a woman.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
There was a guy who killed in Cuba and made a documentary about it. His site was called travelbum. He also made videos of himself doing pickups in NYC. Unfortunately he took down all the videos a while ago.

The documentary he made in Cuba showed prostitutes everywhere. And I mean everywhere. A mother holding her kid on the street, the clubs of course, even the security guy at his hotel was a pimp offering him his whores. All that aside, in the documentary he showed how easy the pickups on the steet are over there. He picked up regular Cubanas, not club whores. Definitely approach girls on the street. Brush up a little on your Spanish. It'll do wonders.

In some ways you could call street pickup easy in Cuba. But you have to remember, you're swimming with sharks.

The travelbum video was entertaining and well produced. The guy is a talented photographer, no doubt. But the game he was running was almost anti-game.

Girls invest more time for the softcock kind of tourist that doesn't have a clue. They prefer this kind of a guy because they see him as easier to manipulate and a higher chance to get one-itis and wife up the chick. If this guy's game got results in Cuba, it was only cause they saw him as a mark.

It definitely isn't the game I try to pull. You can call it anti-game but it almost didn't matter in Cuba. He had a little bit of charm and made them laugh. That's all you need in that situation. Even that salsa dancer he picked up on streets was laughing with his corny dance moves. She fell for the charm. Before she knew it she was already dropping the panties.

He had a few things going for him. First of all, he's a Canadian white guy based out of NYC visiting Cuba, not some Miami Cuban going over there to get laid. Those type of guys are probably a dime a dozen down there. So he definitely stood out. He also spoke Spanish. He also has a nice job as a fashion photographer. I'm sure he dropped that info on them to get their minds stirring. He had one girl doing a catwalk, did a spontaneous photo shoot at the hotel after he got laid, etc. He definitely used all the cards in that department and it worked.

The point is you have to hit the streets over there. You'll be swimming with the sharks but what else is new in Latin America? I can't imagine the sharks being any worse than DR. There is nothing worse than a 'safe' tourist. So I say fuck it, take it by the horns.

His video was entertaining, but to say he "spoke spanish" is disingenious.

Just because you can say, "hola" and "adios" doesn't qualify you as a spanish speaker.

I think any native or even a student of the language would describe his spanish as "novato".

He spoke Spanish. Full on sentences and broken Spanish with the girls. One of them knew English. If I remembered correctly he was talking to the pimp, cop, and hotel lobby guy in Spanish only. He was understood. I'm not sure you saw the documentary. There were two videos. One was 15 minutes long the other was 30 minutes long.

RE: Cuba: Anyone been there lately
his spanish was very poor if you actually speak spanish that would be clear as jariel points out. many of the girls were hookers I mean the 2 sisters at the end...be realistic here. Look at the dump he was banging them in. It looked exactly like the shitty illegal by the hour places hookers will take someone. The black girl he approaches at the start and he asks the guy is she a hooker and he gives the big i dunno attitude. The one seemed legit was the one who said she wanted to be a model. With that said I'm pretty sure I've seen her in a promo video for Don Cangrejo which means she has money some how.

I doubt the sharks are as bad as DR. Lots of soft prostitution goes on. If you called that killed it based on the travelbum videos I dont know what to say. I saw one girl in the whole video who was appeared to be a non hooker or at least non soft prostitution.

The salsa girl. Lets be real here. He was paying her for salsa classes likely and she saw him as easy dollars. He probably was paying her for salsa classes way more than she makes otherwise.

My main girlfriend there is a dance instructor from that job she makes 17 bucks a month. Don't be surprised if he was dropping 10-20 dollars an hour in lessons lol. She models / dances in another group at nights (6 to 7 nights a week) and still maybe clears 100 dollars a month...if shes lucky.

The girl who was at the end the white one who he took on dates that was scared of the police. She was pretty. But hardly what I'd consider top notch in Cuba. Go see a PMM show and take a look at the models and dancers and trust me then you'll be impressed. Now those are top notch.

The white hooker he goes to her house and visits her family...theres a reason shes working out of the hotel and not in the top shelf discos. She couldn't compete there.

There are guys doing far better than that guy did in Cuba who are twice his age.

One can do exceptionally well and I mean exceptionally well in Cuba. But not a short time tourist. Someone with spanish skills, some game, a legitimate bankroll and time (months) there may not be a place where they will do better. But the reality is the amount of guys who have all those there is super slim. I can't think of an under 50 there who had all those working for him. If you do have all that it may very well be possible to reach the top and I mean top tier despite it being near unattainable in many other parts of the world.

Day game in Cuba is tricky. The places where one would be inclined to day game in Havana specifically are largely trolling with hookers and girls hiding this fact. I.e. The Obispo, Avenida 23.

Wandering the university I found it extremely difficult to find someone worthy of approaching but I really have no interest in approaching most girls there. I may have approached the white one at the end of the travelbum video but certainly none of the others. It all depends on taste and once you've be accustomed to finer wine I don't particularily want to regress.

With that said outside of Havana meeting non hookers is extremely easy in the day time. However, the problem one suffers from is a lack of things to do. How many nights in a row can one go to the same bar / disco which every night has the exact same people (The Faranduleros) without getting bored.

I truly believe if someone who was well off, and had the required skills they would do exceptionally well. The issue is obviously a time / value debate. There are many places which provide high returns easier. For example you can use badoo and have plenty of Dominicanas in the pipeline beforehand. Try doing the same for Cuba and you will laugh at not only the lack of quality as next to no cubans have true internet access and lack of quantity plus the ones you do message may very well never respond not because they don't want to simply they can't get on the internet to see there account!

The disco he went into which was loaded with hookers is Salon Rojo "El Capri". It was fornerly a casino. I've only gone there once. I thought it was way overpriced for the atmosphere and quality of entertainment. (10 dollar entrance 3 dollar domestics and I believe 6 dollar exports). The entertainment was amongst the worst I've seen in Havana. The headliners came on and sung all of 3 songs. It is very old but cool to see. It doesn't have the modern feel that other joints of this type Casa de la musica Galiano and La Cecilia have. There wasn't a non hooker in the entire place.

Note: he was approaching girls in the day time in the Obispo, old Havana area from what I recall. That is the main spot for girls looking to make some extra cash in the day time as its tourist central.

I apologize for the lousy grammar but I'm absolutely exhausted and just wanted to pound out that post before I go to bed.

I'm a native speaker. I understood him perfectly. He had a heavy accent obviously. But even so, with only a few one liner compliments the girls gobbled it up. That's the point.

The girl he went on dates with was not top notch. I'm not sure anyone here is claiming that. I don't think he did either. She was good looking. You would turn her down?

Keep in mind, the documentary was about hookers. That's really what he showed the most.

Lavidaloca, what can you tell us about places outside of Havana? Like Santiago, Camaguey, etc.
