I think lying and equivocating is important. You should at least throw out a few token lies just to keep your skills sharp. They don't have to be big or important lies, and they don't have to be lies to cover up insecurities. Reality is a boring place that we all have to live in, and even if you're completely full of shit and lying just for fun, that's a lot more attractive to women than some mobile cadaver telling chicks about how hard it is being a research mathematician. Just learning how to tell a lie smoothly will prepare you for the future when telling a very big lie could be the most important decision of your life.

Girls lie all the time. I think that they lie enough to believe their own lies. You have to pay attention to how you lie as well, and understand what's going on under the hood. Otherwise you will be a lot more vulnerable to liars.

No, there are times when it is better to lie.

If a girl starts talking about some obscure musician and asks if you know him/her, it is better to say yes, or "oh yeah ... !" like you are remembering them.

Don't take it so personal bub, I'm using "you" in the group context than you specifically.

And it can hurt you if you get caught lying. You look very "try hard" as you put it.

I've also been told that b/c of my success in certain areas I am intimidating to some women and they feel insecure about themselves. So by saying "I'm not familiar with that" actually builds the comfort as well bc it knocks me down a peg in their eyes.
