I just finished my Riga Report if anyone wants to check it out...
Fair play! Still can't believe you ventured into a war zone--you're a real header.
You mentioned at one point that out of all the cities you visited, Kiev is at the top of your list for places at which you'd actually live. Any other locations--in Europe or Asia--like that?
I'm trying to find a good place to spend the summer as a student/hedonist. Girls are definitely a major consideration, but as I'd be living there for a few months, cost of living and the like are considerations as well. It seems like a good number of the classic cities usually mentioned are overrun with European tourists during the summer, ruining the ambience and disenchanting the local women. I'm curious to know where someone as well-traveled as yourself would go in my situation.
Cheers

Anyone know any "party sites" filled with photos of girls at different clubs taken every weekend for Bulgaria, Slovenia, and the Ukraine?
I find these local party photo sites as THE BEST for accurately predicting whether a city offers the type you like.
Just as an example, here's one for German cities including Berlin:

The other fact is that it's so much cheaper. I'm not talking about the big cities which in EE are exceptionally known to be very expensive (Moscow- most expensive city in the world, capital of poor Russia, how fucked up is that?). I'm talking about second and third tier cities.
There's nothing "fucked up" about that really. I believe Moscow has something like 74 Billionaires, which is double that of NYC. And the city's annual budget is about $34 Billion, which about 4-6 Bil. more than NYC's... They're also closing in fast on some "poorer" European countries as far as GDP per capita at $14,000 for 2009 (Ukraine's something like $8,000). And the wealth is starting to trickle down to smaller size cities... I actually think girls in Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia are probably easier to impress with your gringo status.

Thanks for the Canada info guys! Sounds delicious.
In response to mangadooza, I would say the only other place apart from Kiev I considered living was Cape Town! That place is the business!
Zanetti is right about Riga, with budget airlines foreigners cease to be exotic. But at the right time of year GIGGITY-GIGGITY!
I've been to Krakow 3 times, it's a great place.

Who's got their Poland flag from Warsaw?
Are you in Europe already or coming straight from the U.S.?
if the former and you don't know anyone who will show you where the hot spots are if you want my advice jump on the train and go to Krakow or Poznan. They're less than 3 hours away and better imo.
Once you know where you are going I think Warsaw can be great, however a lot of the clubs are spread out over the city compared with everywhere else in Poland, so I wouldn't go there blind.
If you can't leave Warsaw find someone that can tell you where to party. I wish I could tell you where to go but I didn't go out enough when I was there.
Either way if you go out there looking good and you don't stay in the corner all night you will get action........................
