What's up all,

I'm heading back down to South America for a few months, and I have a friend there, a girl with whom I'm planning to travel to Machu Picchu and some other spots.

Thing is, I have far more money in the bank than she does, and her income is only around $600 USD per month.

I see two options:

-- I pay for some of her expenses and we travel with the means and accommodations that I would normally use, or

-- We each pay our own way and stay really budget-minded throughout the trip.

I have never really traveled with a woman before, and I don't have a sexual history with this chick. We get in touch from time to time by skype/email/text, and she always seems interested in my life. In other words there's potential but I'm not too concerned about that either way.

What kind of advice can you give me about managing the logistics of these travels? Is it a bad idea?

I think either way can work. The one thing I would just be adamant on is that you clear it up in the beginning, so that you don't run into trouble later. Yes, it may be a little awkward at first, but it's much better than having to deal with it later.

Second, if you choose your first option, make sure she knows up front that you have DECIDED to do this, and that make it clear that you are doing this because you are being kind/generous. Don't let her get away with thinking that you're doing it for yourself and therefore she doesn't owe appreciation.

My experience (from a much earlier time in my life, thank god) has been that if you try to pay for a woman (that you aren't banging) in an understated way, the appreciation goes right through the window and she kind of just moves on like nothing happened and they actually LOSE a little respect for you.

Once I travelled with a girl for a 2 and 1/2 month time span. We established from the beginning that we'd split hotels and food 50/50. It was never an issue. We had sexual history before traveling together, so perhaps your situation is a bit difference.

I'm not sure how the forum would view this, but I have generally always had girls pay things for me...Like ridiculously. But, I think most guys here rather seem like big-baller alpha guy. I bang and get things paid for. I prefer that.

I tend to agree. All things being equal, I usually get more respect from a woman when she pays my way. Plus, I like to save money and I don't enjoy seeing it creep out of my wallet needlessly.

In fact, this particular girl has often paid for me when we go out.

It's a different situation when she can't possibly afford the cost. There's a difference between buying lunch and buying a plane ticket.

Plus, my pockets have gotten a bit deeper recently. That money can either sit there, or it can buy me experiences that I will remember when I get older. On some level, I'd rather travel with a beautiful woman than alone with a slightly fatter wallet. It's not really an option for her to cover my expenses without taking a big financial hit -- although, knowing her, she'll probably try anyway just to look independent.

Why would you pay for a girl that you are not banging?

I mean, if you were banging her, then yes, that shouldnt even be a question. I dont trip over pennies (i think i got this line from a movie), if im banging a bad bitch and i want to travel with this bad bitch and i have the money for it then yes, i would pay for it. I am not checking myself every minute to see if what im doing is alpha or if it is beta, i just want to feel good all the time and have a great life.

If she is your best female friend (i dont even believe in that shit, oh well), and you feel like spending money on her, then do it. Dont go the cheap route if you are not going to have that much fun, just pay for both of you guys.

I see where you're coming from. I travel alone often and I actually would like to have the company of a friend this time, especially considering that my Spanish isn't perfect. Money isn't so much the issue and I want to enjoy the experience.

I don't know if banging is really an option or not with this girl. She's a pretty decent girl, never flakes on me, takes care of me, is respectful, etc.

I've had my friends (men) pay my way when I was short on cash before, and I would do it for a guy. One friend dropped two grand on me in a single weekend just because I was saving my money for travel and he wanted to go to restaurants, casinos, strip clubs, etc. I didn't expect that treatment from him, but it was a fun time that I'll never forget.

At the same time, it feels lame as hell to spend money on a girl when there is nothing sexual going on. Therein lies the dilemma I guess.

I have also paid for male friends for us to travel locally. When you are doing better than your friends, there are certain places you don't want to go by yourself and you want to pay for their travel expenses so they can come with you. However, the majority of people see generosity as weakness and they may even see you as a fool for taking care of them.

What are you planning to gain from this trip? You want sexual satisfactions, you just want to get to know this new city and explore it as a general tourist, or what?

If you think your trip is going to be more fun if this girl comes with you, then yes, just pay for it. Do whats going to make you happy. If the money is not an issue then go ahead with it (taken into account that she has also paid your way before).

If you guys were an actual couple I would say to break down the expenses beforehand and figure out who can contribute what.

Since you are not a couple and she is not as wealthy as you there are options. You can demand a 50/50 split or do the generous thing and pick up a larger share. You have to buy food, transportation and a hotel even if you are alone. At the very least there is no reason for you not to cover the cost of lodging during the trip as long as her presence does not add significantly to the bill. Unless she is really low on money she should pay for her own transportation. Food is another matter because you will probably pick up the check for both of you at times and she will probably do the same.

One last thing, if this is her vacation there is no reason to assume that she has not saved enough money to cover her own expenses.

How rich are you?

Are you somrone who has money to an extent that they wouldnt mind dropping few hundred for a week ? If so, then do it.

If she is poor, dont travel. Why does she need you to pay?

If you were not concerned about it you wouldn't ask these questions on the internet forum. Have you established alpha frame with her? Are you gaming her?

If you don't pay for some things, and you present yourself as a friend, you'll be a bad friend.

If you pay, and you haven't banged her, you'll be in the orbiter zone, no matter how nice you think she is.

My advice is to show that you are willing to pay a lot only for stuff that will be fun for you, then invite her once to do that for you. She will have a nice time, and she will know that the only way to save her budget is to do fun things you like with you. If you give off a lot of sexual vibe she will have sex with you becuase she will on subconscious level know that sex is what takes you to bring her more fun and provide for her. And she will love fucking you for that reason.

I've been travelling with a girl in Thailand for almost a month, we've never slept together and she makes more money than me, so I'm definitely not paying her way. I think whether or not you pay for any of her way depends on whether or not you try to bang her.

If you do decide to try to bang her and things don't go so well, say she isn't down for it, things may get a bit weird and you may be in a situation where you'll want to ditch her, which may not be the nicest thing to do since she's on a limited budget, but fuck it who cares, I say go for it and choose your first option, stay in accommodations that you normally use. I wouldn't want to stay in shittier places just to make the girl happy because it could make for a shittier travel experience.

As for my travel partner, it was the first time I traveled with a girl as well and its gone quite well overall, there was one night where she cock blocked me but I set her straight and she didn't do it again. After ten days together, she ended up doing a week long yoga/detox retreat so I had some free time on my own. It was her first time outside of Canada and she had an "amazing experience", the same type of cliched trip many people have in Thailand.

She's the third person I've traveled with and has been the best, since a lot of my friends and co-workers know I travel a lot, some of them are curious about it but rarely do any actually have the balls to book the ticket. I always tell them that if they want to join me travelling for a week or even a month then go for it, I've been travelling since I was young and I enjoy turning others in travel junkies and always try to dissuade them from staying at all-inclusive type resorts.
