Hey

So, I happen to be in an extremely advantageous situation monetarily yet the lifestyle it has created for me insulates me from the outside world in a way that cute chicks are rarely being introduced to me. I'd like to change my lifestyle to one that would be more conducive to that happening.

I know it's going to come off as bragging but really I think my situation sucks and only am providing the details in order to get the best advice possible.

I don't have an actual job, I play online poker as a hobby about 15-20 hours a week and I make about 250k a year. The problem is I am home very often and obviously never meet anyone working in my office on the internet. I know I can go out and just meet girls but my success rate will obviously not be as high as when I can create a lifestyle that lends to women coming to me. Any suggestions on how I can do that would be great.

Online poker is an incredibly nerdy/nerd filled endeavor. It's not cool to do. I do it because I happen to be very good at it and I couldn't get any job that would make me nearly as much money. I know your comment was in jest but I'd look like a total fool doing anything like that.

And it's not like this is a lot of money for where I live. It's enough to be comfortable but I'm no baller.

Well, the only thing you have as far as perceived value is money. So you have to basically show it off in order to attract women to come to you.

Maybe start a charity or something if you really want girls to come to you without you having to flaunt your money like the nouveau riche. Maybe move to a nicer area where you are surrounded by women where just the fact you live there adds to your value. wear more expensive clothes. travel more.

Thanks for your advice. I do live in an apartment 50 yards from the beach in Southern California. I generally wear Armani Exchange and Express. I also do travel occasionally to different islands to play in tournaments. Do you think I need to improve on these things?

I think in general that flaunting money is a pretty try-hard thing to do. If money actually attracted cute chicks I think I'd be doing a lot better than I am (how I'm doing is pretty pathetic). I get a lot of attention from 5's 6's and some 7's, but I'm not interested in any of those girls.

I hadn't thought about starting a charity. Do you have any suggestions for which type or how to go about it?

Talk to a decent tax lawyer. It might be a good way to shelter some of your winnings. Throw events if you can (but it seems like your network is pretty small?) and strategically buy ads in other charitable events within your local community where hot women will see. For instance, if you live in Santa Monica find some local charities in Santa Monica like about breast cancer or yoga or healthy living or something hot women flock to...buy an ad in the back of their flyer with your charity and a picture of you helping kids in africa or something (maybe photoshop this if you don't have anything).

at least it will give you something interesting to talk about other than "I play online poker".

your location and lifestyle (travel, clothes) are fine. maybe join the high end gym like equinox in your area.

dealer. You spent all that time becoming good enough at online poker to make some solid cash, but you are too lazy to learn how to talk to girls you want to have sex with? You get out what you put in with this game stuff, if you're putting nothing in expect to get nothing out of it, girls aren't going to approach you. They'll stand/sit by you, they might "accidentally" bump into you when you cross paths, but rarely will they ever talk to you in a sexual manner.

I never said I wasn't able to talk to girls I want to have sex with. I have the capacity to do very well in situations where I can project my value to be higher. I know I can be much more successful doing it a certain way so why would I spend so much time doing it in a way that will bring me a lot of frustration and results nowhere near as good?

If I've learned anything in life, it's always best to play to your strengths. Some people are luckier than others, but also, a lot of people who are lucky create that luck based on the situations they place themselves in. The latter is what I'm trying to accomplish.

I'm gonna take a stab here. You're being linked to read Roosh's day game book because you have all the damn time in the world and have money. Most guys have one or the other.

Most guys don't get to pick their work hours and so day game is limited to the weekends. You're in an advantageous situation and so you would be wise to take advantage of it.

To answer your main question you need to get some hobbies. Ideally some that promote interesting behavior and might gain interest from women not some lame ass hobbies that don't count. It's not really that hard if you think about it for a few seconds.

World Travel
Cooking
Motorcycles
Activities with stereotypical cool lifestyles - Snowboarder, Skateboarder, Being in a Band, Artist, DJ, bartender, etc

For example the hobbies I have that women show the most interest in are surfing and photography. If I was in your shoes (lots of money and location independent) you would better believe I'd be off in a warm tropical location surfing my ass off and taking cool as photos like this.



I'd do this for as long as I possibly could moving around the world to the most ideal locations as the seasons change. Big snowfall? I'm off to Tahoe. Tired of the cold? Swells going off in Bali. Feel like banging drunk 19 year old girls during spring break? On a plane to cancan.

The whole time I'd uploading these photos to my facebook page, hyping my shit on my tumblr, and excessively blogging about how you too can play online poker and live the lifestyle of your dreams.

Sure self promotion is cheesy but you'd better believe people and women will take notice. You'd be living a fantasy life half the cubicle bound world can only dream of. Half of this site's appeal lies in this.

- dress cool
and
- go out 6-7 nights a week to meet women

That's the perfect player lifestyle. I did the same thing on 1200 a month.

Sounds like you've got other issues.

I understand your point, but your dream lifestyle is not my dream. I don't really give a shit about snowboarding or surfing, and I'm definitely not the asshole who posts cool stuff I do on the Internet in hopes that I can 'show everybody working in a cubicle' how cool my lifestyle is. If I wanted to do that stuff I would.

I know u r trying to help and I appreciate the time u put into your post, but why, just because I make enough money and happen to have a lot of free time should I be wasting it doing shit I don't enjoy in order to attract some bitch?

I did very well in college and literally never had to do anything I didn't want to while still pulling nearly any girl I was interested in. I need to figure out how to get back to doing that.

Wait, so you have a 250k a year location independent stream of income that requires you to work only 15-20 hours?

That's ideal.

Start approaching women, work out, and travel. You have a ton of free time.

You have your money together, so get your game together too.

I think the point everyone is making is that you're sitting here asking us what you should do when in most of our minds you have the dream firmly in your grasp but aren't actively doing anything about it. A lot of the guys on this forum do a lot with far less money and time than you. They've written about the ways in which they've done that extensively.

Maybe you don't want to snowboard and surf and show off on Facebook. Fine. Maybe your goal isn't to be a player. That's cool too. So what DO you want?

If you want to find satisfaction in your life and/or become appealing to women, you've got to do SOMETHING different.

You're in what most here see as the ideal situation - the cash and freedom to pick whatever you want and just get after it. You're not rich, but many here live rich, interesting lives on far less and it's kind of a kick in the face for them to have someone bypass all they've shared and essentially ask what they should do with so much more. To most of us, that seems outrageous.

While you didn't state it specifically, I think you just need to figure out what you want for your life from here. We can't tell you what to do - that's further proven by how quick you shot down any answers provided.

Read the "Filling the Void" section in the Four-hour Workweek. Write out your dreamlines - also from FHWW (not just a book about not working, by the way). Write out a description of your ideal life (a day in the life of) and think how you could make that a reality. You might find it's much more obtainable than you realize.

As for the "how-to" of lifestyle and women, that type of thing can be found throughout this forum. The info's just sitting there waiting to be read. You've just got to figure out what it is you're after and then people can offer advice.

We can't tell you what lifestyle to want.
