Bombay Sapphire and tonic with a squeeze of lime is my choice mixed drink. Gives me a good buzz, never any hangover and it doesn't mess with my stomach. When drinking beer, I go for whatever hefeweizen is on tap.

Depends where I am and the situation etc..

Beer is probably my least favorite thing to drink if its shit beer, though I'll drink it all day on the beach and the barzinhos in Brazil. It's just what you drink there.

At a nice restaraunt or speakeasy, I'd either go with wine, White Russians, or Remy Martin. Love the cogniac.

If I'm just out at the club or a trashy bar, maybe a vodka redbull, shots of good tequila, Jack and Coke.

Favorite beers are True Blonde, White Rascall, and Pin Stripe. Colorado has the best selection of beer that I've ever seen.

In Minas you can get very good quality Cachaca for pretty cheap. My friends dad made his own on his farm. R$100 is not expensive for liquor. Louis XIII is priced up to US$3,000 a bottle. I think Caiparinha is horrible, and real girly. I don't really preffer eating my drinks. Though I can tollerate drinking Caipafruita with kiwi or maracuja. I do like Cachaca straight though.

Before I begin my defense of my manhood, I would like you 2 know that I consulted for a leading global beverage industry giant for a long time. With that said, your take that the Caiparinha is a girly drink, is nothing more than American Beer industry marketing points. They have stereotyped the margarita/mojito the same way too, all 2 segment and market and shame you into buying their products...

What I find really fascinating about mixed drinks/liquor that I can not find in beer is that it's a very complex, always evolving process. I mean you have to pour the right amount of sugar, salt, ice, milk, bricks ratio, syrup, liquor, fruits, vegetables at the right temp's/right order or you ruin the drink and then ruin the experience. There's a science too it...there's a history 2 it as well...those drinks have a story on how they were created...rum-cuba/caribbean...cap-brazil-sugar cane...jack daniels/south/prohibition/ hell even soft drinks have a interesting history..Coca Cola is a product made by pharmacist to help people take medication or Pepsi being the first company to hire african americans to sell and market..

Mixed drinks/liquor are social...theirs a conversation that takes place with mixed drinks ...With beer, you drink it and stfu and watch a game....but a drink you talk, you eat, you share stories, you tear down walls, you make friends.fuck afterwards and make kids whatever...so no I personally don't think a dude sipping a mojito at 6:00 pm dinner with the family/firends is softbatch...now if he's sipping that shit at 11:00pm he's a definite back biter...

I was only comparing to other cachaças sold in BR. 100 is not expensive, but the price average of this product is low.

I'm a vodka/soda guy in the U.S, but I like Augustiner or Franziskaner on draft when I'm in Germany.

I'm heading to Colombia tomorrow. Any rec's on good drinks to try there besides Aguardiente? Good Tequila, mixed drinks, liquor?

The first having no sugar or calories, the second having very little sugar and more taste. btw, make sure you sip slowly and don't get too trashed. these tend to go down real easy.

Egg-whites are great for giving drinks texture. Clover Club is a classic example, but I have also used egg-whites simply make even a Whiskey Sour taste expensive.

That said, the Gin-Basil smash of "Le Lion" is an easy one to make. Tiki drinks are also great. And for an extra bite, you can muddle a speck of fresh red chili pepper and some ginger in a mojito along with the mint, lime and cane sugar, top it with beer instead of soda, and you've got yourself a bizarre sounding drink that is best compared to a "bite". Glen's Mojito.

Of course, in my world, drinking any kind of cocktail means I am not going to get laid that night.

def. a capt. and diet coke. sailor jerry's spiced rum is quite popular because it's stronger than captain, but i manage my buzz better with capt.

also, i like the buzz i get from tequila, so lately i start off with a shot of cafe patron. the caffeine is a nice pick up without red bull or other energy drinks.

Yeah Caiparinha = still gay j/k But for real its too leafy and minty and sweet, I feel Brandon on the not eating your drinks thing.

I will drink pretty much anything in site, but as for longevity I prefer beer, as I can drink it all night. Caramel, don't knock beer dawg, it has a rich history all its own as well, but I'm sure you know that.

I am with you guys on not too much mixing. Sweet shooters, + beer + Tequilla + whatever = usually a regrettable evening and bad head the next morning.

Cold beers, or a nice dark rum on ice, Vodka with soda water too. That is my wheel house.

vodka and ice for me. i also smoke so sometimes i'll get a vodka with lime/lemon juice for vit C content. not much of a hangover the next day. interesting thing i noticed is that different vodkas give different vibes. i find smirnoff to taste like shit and give me this weird aggressive vibe. i used to drink Stolichnaya before, but now switched to Absolut.

also, i find that if i mix sugar with alcohol, i get the worst hangovers. no more rum/cokes for me. i second Absinthe, very strong with a kind of minty taste, a great pre party drink. a rum/cognac/brandy with coffee tastes great and gets me hyped up with game.

i noticed that if i don't drink for 2 weeks or more, i am way more open minded and social without needing a drink to loosen up. i think i'll just quit and save some cash in the mean time for my next trip. especially after an episode of drinking about a 1.5 liters of vodka in one day and ending up with a nasty whale. damn, i can still smell her after 3 months, what a disaster that night was.

Things I DON'T drink:
Jager
Jager Bombs
RB+vodka

Caffeine and alcohol are both diuretics, and mixing a stimulant w/ a depressant is bad. These drinks are heavy in sugar also. These have cost me a lot of pussy so I leave them alone. Not just drinking too much but they seem to fuck w/ my head.

In a classy joint- Dirty vodka martini on the rocks (porn star dirty).
Any other place- Guinness or Jameson w/ 2 cubes of ice.

Any liquor that's triple distilled should give a cleaner buzz. Less heavy metals and formaldeydes.

Been lookin for a new drink. I drink a ton of beer and never really fucked with liquor much except whiskey and coke or something basic like that. I noticed a few of you talkin about different drinks affecting you differently. Can anyone elaborate on that? I have had my fair share of jagar/jagar bombs and I tend to get stupid rowdy on that if I'm with my buddies.

Ill probably just start drinkin something on the rocks or gin and Tonic(never had it).. I noticed people talking about that in other threads. Im trying to cut the majority of beer.
