Two of the big deciding factors in whether or not to direct your game at a girl. I find that they often butt heads.

There are times when I force myself to go for a notch, with a girl that doesn't pass the boner test, just to boost my numbers. This may seem try-hard, but it has actually helped my confidence/game in the long-run. Not to gloat, but how many guys in the world can say they've banged 32 new girls in one year? If I feel whacked out, I remind myself of where I'm coming from with this. So, notches can be good for game.

Also, the boner test can be affected by your mood etc. Like, maybe your cat died and you don't feel attracted to girls at that time. But, like any other practice, if you don't use it, game can atrophy.

On the other side of the argument is only listening to your boner. I think you have to have supreme self-confidence to do this and feel good in general. In one sense, if you are only attracted to really hot girls and you take your boner seriously, you might be motivated to change everything in your life to make it most likely that you will land some hi-quality ass.

So, my verdict is that unless you are already banging hot girls on a regular basis, you can't just trust your boner test to have a rewarding game.

Boner test is for guys who are at higher level of game. If you are newbie/intermediate, I think it's better to game for the notch with the hope that the experience and confidence you get with bedding lots of girls will help you build towards hotter girls.

I have been in a few LTRs and I could get it up. We would do role playing to spice it up a bit. Obviously there is nothing better than some strange but I tend to LTR lizards that I like physically AND mentally...

If you can masturbate without porn, or even with porn, that's proof that you get yourself hard regardless of whether or not you are in the real presence of a hot girl.

In my case, it's not usually that much work that's needed.

I'm with Moma on this one, if I'm not attracted to a chick and my dick doesn't get hard for her, than we are not having sex. Usually if my standards drop it's some combination of being really drunk (liquor goggles) and being on a long dry spell. Combine those two factors and I could end up fucking a 5 (which I've only done once BTW ), but normally I end up fucking 6's and 7's.

Here is my issue, do you go for the "low hanging fruit" the easy girls to fuck, basically "the 6's" in my situation, or do you go for the hotter chicks, 8+....

Recently I haven't been gaming much, but when I do go out, I've pretty much only been going after the hotter girls in the bars 8+, but my results have been pitiful. I have been getting interest, kino, good long conversations, phone #s, occassionally make-outs, but haven't been able to close. Since my dry spell continues, I need to lower my standards, but I just feel like I've gotten my fill of 6-7 range chicks, and want to really fuck women I am very attracted to.

Eventually, I'll break down and fuck a 6 if need be... I see Soup's point about fucking less desirable chicks to maintain momentum. Momentum is a huge X factor that is hard to quantify or qualify, but plays a huge roll in a guys success at any given point in time.

On the flip side of that though, fucking uglier chicks can also hurt your inner game, if you come to believe that you can't do better. Also, if you live in a small town, women will judge you harshly if they see you taking home 5's, shit even if you are seen with 6's, and then try to step to 8's, it will hurt their perception of you.

(Sorry for the excess use of the 1-10 scale on this thread, while I do believe it can be toxic, it is still the best way for us to gauge a woman's attractiveness).

I have a very successful player friend who said something really insightful about the club: "most guys go after the hot girl instead of trying to get laid." And, yes one of these guys might get her, but a lot of them are going home dick in hand. It's another night of not getting ass.

I see what you are saying but I am not understanding the porn reference. I can't get aroused by crap porn.

I think the problem is that a lot of guys may go for lizards that they THINK their friends will approve instead of ones that pass the boner test.
While it's not good to settle too low which I have done in the past to break the ice or get a nut off, it's not good to just go for the hottest lizard just to say one has gotten an 8.

I go by the boner test personally but I rule out really crap shags. I had a friend that was in the late 300s that wanted a stuffing and I reckon she would have passed the boner test in the dark. However, I didn't do it cos I would have to hand in my resignation.

The rating is strictly on a social scale and how we think others would feel about us. Boner test is base human nature, survival, it's about what our genes think are suitable to procreate with.
When we talk about rating scales, now we are talking about preferences.

Either she's suitable or not. Boner test operates on binary 0 for would not bang, 1 for would bang.
