I spent last weekend visiting a fuck buddy in Atlanta who I see 3-4 times a year there or in my city. (for all you online haters I met her online).

We spent two nights going out around town and I thought you guys would appreciate a little info on a few places.

Whiskey Blue- In the W hotel, this is an upscale, LA style bar. We went about 9:45 on a Fri and there was no cover although my FB said she has been charged $10 before. Maybe we were just early. Has a sleek look with a good amount of comfortable seating. A large outside patio affords a nice view of the Atlanta skyline. The crowd was mostly 23-35, affluent and stylish. It has a sound system but no dance floor, causing the attention whores to dance among the seats. Lots of hot girls The guys were almost all white, while the girls were a mix of white and black with a few Asians. The black girls seemed quite open to being approached by white guys- I was eyeballed by a couple, saw approaches by white guys that appeared to go well and there was one white guy/black girl couple that was so all over each other at the bar that my FB commented they needed to get a room.

Beluga- a cigar/martini bar that has been around for years. I think it used to be members only but now is open to the public. We came in rather early and were not charged a cover. Dark and cozy atmosphere. Not sure how much of a pickup place this would be, but it looked like it would have potential as a late night place to chill and build rapport. Crowd was mixed white, black and hispanic, with couple of white guy/ black girls couples

Sage Woodfire Tavern- located the the Dunwoody area, which my FB said is the mecca for 35+ singles in Atlanta. (Buckhead is 21-35). We did not go into Sage for lack of time but I mention it only because as we drove past my FB commented that it is a major pickup place for the 30+ crowd

Seasons 52- We ate dinner here. Not far from Sage. Food is pretty good and not too expensive. Large bar with some pickup action going on. 35+.

Escorpion- a tequila bar/Mexican restaurant right in Midtown. I don't even like tequila much but liked the premium tequilas the bartender brought me.
A definite gay presence here (Midtown is the premier Atl gay neighborhood) but the crowd was mostly straight. Has a nice bar that attracted some girls- a female birthday party came in-but I don't see this as a great pickup place. Would be a good place to bounce for a drink or some food though. My FB tapped me on the shoulder and indicated yet another white guy/black girl couple and said "They're fucking". She also enjoyed pointing out a couple of gay guys who were eyeballing me, but it wasn't the sort of gay scene that would make a straight guy uncomfortable. Crowd 21-40.

Johnny's Hideaway This place is a real scene. We arrived about 11 and had to wait in line for 30 min to get in. $5 cover. Once inside I saw why-the place was packed. This place has been around for about 30 years and the decor is circa early 80's disco. Most of the staff is too. Our bartender, a thin old guy with a mustache name Butch (my FB knew him) was awesome. The bartenders are very fast and pour heavy. The crowd here is largely 35-65 with some women 25-35. If you are looking for a horny cougar, this is the place in Atl to go- my FB said Johnny's is notorious for this. Has a very crowded dance floor. I noticed some very attractive younger women with older "Silver fox" looking guys and pointed this out to my FB- she said these were EE women who came there looking for older affluent guys to marry in order to get their green cards.Other than the EE girls, the women here were average with a sprinkling of good ones.

Lennox Square Mall- we went here on Saturday and it was slam packed. Tons of hot girls. If you are into mall day game, this would be a prime location. Also try Phipps Plaza nearby

Havana Club- we didn't have time to go in here- but my FB said is a pickup place for 21-26 year olds.

Conclusions By no means is this a comprehensive review of ATl nightlife, that would take months of study. lots of other nightspots I didn't have time to get to.
I can say this though- everywhere we went, the male/female ratio was excellent- Atl has always had a rep as being a female heavy town and that has not changed. The attractiveness of Atl is also high-7+s are common and it is a very fitness oriented town- fatties were rare in the affluent areas. If you're going to go upscale you need to have some style in your dress. You don't have to wear a suit (though you could) but at least try to have an LA level of casual dress.
I mentioned the white guy/black girl coupling i saw because it's not something often seen in the rest of the South, but really seems to be growing it Atl. Atl is absolutely loaded with good looking, educated black women,and obviously quite a few of them are open to getting with white guys. In contrast, I think I saw one black guy/ white girl couple. A good number a attractive Asian girls as well.

Well, the reason for the lack of BM/WW couples in the ATL is stated in your previous sentence. Brothas have way more than enough good-looking Afr-Am women to choose from. I wouldn't go to the ATL for WW. MPLS and SEA are my choices for WW.

ATL used to have some strong southern white girls talent. All the girls from small towns of Tenn, Kentucky, LA, Miss, AL, etc flocked to ATL after graduating.

There are so many BM/WW couples here it is weird. There arent nearly as much in DC, so i'm still quick to notice and think its a bit strange that so many are walking around here. I have seen at least 15-20 in my three days here.

Nice trip report Mr. XY, seems like your FB has a lot of intel about the pick up places......

Can you suggest a place to stay close to all Night time pick up action and possibly close to Day game locations as well ?

I'd say you'll want to be in Midtown near Crescent Street for best concentration of nightlife. Midtown is the most walkable area of Atlanta for Day game as well - head north up to SCAD campus area, east for Piedmont park area, or southwest for GA Tech campus. There are also coffee shops and stuff throughout Midtown itself. You can also drive or take the Marta up to Lenox/Phipps malls for good day game spots.
