I have a friend who's business recently took off and now he's rich. But he's still mentally "middle class" if that makes sense. He wants to get laid more often now and has bought a BMW, nicer clothes, style consultation etc to replace all his poor guy stuff. That plus going out has done well for him (he says)

We've been talking and he's thinking about going to the next level. As in a Ferrari or Lambo, and maybe a pimp luxury pad to bring them back to. It's a big jump in price obviously but he could swing it if he wanted to. We're in the Los Angeles area btw

Anyone have experience with this or knew someone else that got a really high end car/house? Did it actually help?

Thanks; not a rhetorical question though. He's in the "it helps" camp (due to his experience with the BMW) and I'm in the "can't walk a Lambo into a club" camp. But on the other hand when $200k for a car is no object it may be worth it even if it only helps with day2's. I'm wracking my brain trying to help him figure out a better way to use that $200k on a pussy magnet and can't think of anything. He can't travel very often; his opportunity costs are too high. So it probably makes sense.

If money is no object, then he should buy whatever the fuck he wants.

The way I see it, if he has some expensive token, it will show status and wealth, which he has. You're right in that you can't walk a lamborghini into a club, but at the same time, if you have expensive stuff, you'll look wealthier.

What are his hobbies and stuff? If he likes boating, for instance, he can drop into conversations he has a boat or whatever easily. Saying he has a big house can be made by innocuous statements like, "I built a gym in my house."

A lamborghini is good if he loves cars and would talk about it naturally - like MJ De Marco, who comes to mind - he used having a lambo as a measure of success from when he was a teenager, so working that into a conversation is pretty easy in the club.

I would advise against telling your friend to get a lambo. Sick pad in a prime area wouldn't hurt though. A 7-series BMW will definetely help, but a lambo is such an incremental change that it basically is irrelevant.

Better help him gain strength (gym+ personal trainers), diet (gym + excellent diet), chaffeur to ease logistics (trust me, I would take a 7-series BMW w/a chaffeur over a lambo anyday esp when going out in H. Wood), and lastly help him navigate the treacherous waters that is LA women.

You cant just give a man a knife and let him out into the wild. You need to train him how to use it.

PS- To each their own, but if you flash too much you will attract primarily flashy/trashy girls. Understated flash is the way to go imo. Value > shiny, plus lambos and ferraris are somewhat common here in LA. Ill see 1/day at least

He should also learn how to manage all the new stuff and the expenses, his economic activity can get low in the next years so he should also learn how to proper invest money and save some for the bad times.
I've witnessed a lot of people that got rich fast, just to become poor again in a short period of time, but I bet your friend is smarter.

If he pays a prostitute $200, he can bang 1000 of them in a row. Basically a new girl everyday for 2.5 years straight. Is he gonna get that kind of ROI with a Lambo? You haven't really articulated his goals. More women? More hotter women? The top tier in LA is unlikely to be impressed by his money because that's who's already banging them. Many will disagree, but in my opinion $200k+ Italian sports cars are way too "try-hard".

When I see a guy driving around in a Lambo or Ferrari, my first thought is not, "Wow that guy is so cool and rich!"

It's, "That guy's game is so bad he just blew almost a quarter of a million dollars in an effort to impress women."

Although if you're in a position where you're literally shitting out hundred dollar bills (i.e. pulling in millions of dollars per year) then that kind of expense could be justifiable.

But even then I think it would only work if you didn't make a big deal about it. "Oh that? Yeah that's my Lamborghini. It's all right."

I think the better play for a guy with money is to use it to improve his access to hot women. Get involved with the local charity social scene and network with the other heavy hitters in your area. Or invest the money in a business that deals with attractive young women (tanning salon, modeling agency, production company, etc...).

Proximity to hot women who know your status will result in much better outcomes than in trying to impress random sluts by parking your Lambo on the street outside a club and being like "HEY LOOK AT MY EXPENSIVE CAR!".

If he's a "car guy", you gotta see his perspective. It's more than just getting girls. I'd love to own a Lambo one day and I don't give a rats ass what the girls think. On the other hand, if it's a token for him that he's hoping will exponentially boost his game, I think there are better alternatives. As mentioned, a luxury car with a driver on deck for three nights a week is much preferred. Casually saying "my driver can run us over to XYZ club if you wanna go" is about 100x more baller than hopping into an Italian exotic (not only is it classier, it also makes his life a lot easier as he now doesn't have DUIs to worry about and he can make moves in the backseat).

Was about to say that a nice car, say a 7-series, or if you really want to spend the bucks a Phantom, with a driver would be a better bet. But Pres Carter beat me to it. Bonus points if the driver is also a legitimate body guard. Makes you look "dangerous". Just get someone who is actually useful as a body guard, not just for show.

I used to run into a guy who is said to to be a billionaire, though I sincerely doubt he is that rich. But he is very rich nonetheless. He always had a body guard by his side the few time I ran into him.The only problem is that he is very short, and obviously insecure about this since his bodyguard was even shorter than him. And this was a guy from China who didn't get his money from selling cookies. He really did need a bodyguard. But he was too vain to select one who would highlight the fact that he was short.

I'm not of the school that discounts money in game. It's basic gender (evolutionary) psychology. Chicks like guys with money. It's not enough in itself, and it is possible to do well without it, but I think denying that it is important is just that: Denial. So a financial status display wouldn't be useless. He just needs to be sure he doen't flush it all down the toilet, but has fun with it for a long time. A good financial planning metric to use is to determine the value of the house you live in, whether owned or rented. If your net investments value (net assets less houses, cars, watches and other purely personal assets) is more than 20x the value of your house, and your lifestyle is in keeping with the value of your house, then you are rich. If your value is less, the you are not rich, and should consider increasing your assets or decreasing your lifestyle.

In my opinion, his game needs to be on point in order for this to work. I know many guys who drive expensive cars but are not gettind laid and this is because they dont understand game principles. Funny enough, i was rolling with this cat this weekend who drives a nice car but he doesnt pull that much. He walks up to women and started talking to them about how much money he has, that he wants to take them to US and guess what happens? Women quickly blow him off, he thinks that all women here (DR) are desperate to leave the country.

Driving expensive cars to attract a high number of women in countries like US or UK doesnt really work because these women either know many guys that drive nice cars or they are not that desperate to meet guys that look rich. The majority of women dont understand shit about cars, they may not even know that your friend is actually driving a ferrari and how much it costed.

Now, if your friend was looking to drive an expensive car in countries like Brazil, DR or Colombia, then im sure your friend will get laid like crazy. All he needs to do is enrol in a local university and approach like crazy but im almost certain that the majority of times women will actually approach him.

Its a lot of money to buy a penthouse in LA and buy a ferrari, invest the money in something else or you can just go spend abroad and you will spend way less and get laid way more. My two cents.

I can only speak to my experience. My father is well off, and he leases a new Bentley once every couple years. Yes, that one. The classic nouveau rich car.

I've peacocked in them a few times, and I'll admit, you'll get a lot of IOIs, particularly from older women. I know it's gotten him some strange before (the salary, house don't hurt), but he says it's always golddiggers. In many ways it's made it harder for him to meet decent women; he always has to deal with the most vapid of the vapid.

So, if you're buddy wants to smash a lot of golddiggers (and I mean, a lot), then go for it. If he wants to try and find some decent girls, maybe build up a harem, then I'd go the understatement route.

Or just buy an Aston. Best of all possible worlds, IMHO.

I bought a Ducati after my first depolyment. Pussy went up because of it. Women love the Farrari red and other riders think you are the shit because you ride one. Then you got the haters who talk shit.

The car will help with pussy but like the board is saying, it isn't worth it. He will get pussy just because his ride. I got a buddy that caught pussy because of his corvette.

7 series BMW is the perfect ride, 1/3 the price, simple black with black rims would do. That is my dream car if I live in one location and had enough to buy cash.
