"It’s not my fault I’m pretty."
http://unwinona.tumblr.com/post/30861660...this-story
This chick had a bad experience on public transportation. Spoiler alert: patriarchy is to blame. By the way, men are never harassed by crazies, beaten up or robbed on the street. It's the verbal harassment of women that we must be concerned about.
"the business man steps aside to let me go through the door first and asks me if those guys were bothering me. I say yes, that it happens all the time, and he tells he’ll beat them up for me if they come back. He is a nice person who talks to me like I’m a human being instead of a walking pair of tits, and I make a mental note: This is how a real man talks to a woman on a train."
"The man in the last row was as frozen as I was. I’m not angry he didn’t come to my defense. He was smaller, older, and frailer-looking than I was."
"So when people (men) want to talk about “legitimate” forms of assault, tell girls they should be nice to strangers and give men the benefit of a doubt, tell them to consider it a compliment, tell them to ignore the bad behavior of men, I want them to be forced to feel, for even one minute, what it feels like to have so much verbal hatred and physical intimidation thrown at them for nothing more than being female and not wanting to share."

The fact of the matter is that she is not that hot. If she were, she probably wouldn't have to deal with nearly as much "harassment" because most dudes would be intimidated. Whenever a girl tells me about some guy that said some "creepy" shit to her, I tell her it's because she's pretty enough that dudes want her, but not so pretty that they think she's out of their league (usually 5-7 range). Just look at the chick in the thumbnail. She has a weird face, but at the same time it's probable that at worst she's got a little extra fluff (5-10 lbs max). That's a prime cut of meat for guys that don't have much game. They can come at her with their weak shit. Then, when she rejects them, they can write it off as "Well, she ain't all that anyway".

Exactly, it confirms her "most men are horrible" narrative. The first guys were idiots with weak game, and the bike guy was mentally ill. The businessman was classic white knight and the fact she excuses the older guy's inaction implies she thinks that men are obligated to protect her.
"I debated whether or not to share this story."
"I am making a mental note to bitch about this to my friends later. I go so far as to write it down so I know I’m remembering it properly."
This is the kind of drama women live for. Of course she wasn't going to keep it to herself.

That's because they are all channeling her:

RE: "It’s not my fault I’m pretty."
She isn't good looking. Therefore, anyone who picks her up is a beta. Anyone who fails... is a beta too, but even worse.
She isn't good looking, therefore, probably the bit about the aggressive guys trying to pick her up isn't true.
She isn't good looking, therefore, the guy on the bus who 'talked to her like a real man' probably doesn't exist either.
Clearly, the whole story is completely embellished, just like everyone knows the short skinny guy who in real life saw a thug on the street and crossed the road, but in his story he "Fucked that guy up! I went and told him he was a fucking disgrace and then I beat the shit out of him and armbarred his fucking pitbull because I know karate!"

How we do not have equal opportunities and freedoms in everyday life. How most men, even good caring men, have no clue what we go through on a daily basis just trying to live our lives.

That’s when I finally starting shaking, and almost threw up. By the time I exited the Red Line and reached my car I could barely breathe and my heart was pounding out of my chest. Even now, in my own home, my hands are still shaking and for some reason the stress has made my back muscles feel cold and numb. From all the tension, I can only assume. I can’t eat anything, I still feel like I’m going to vomit, and I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t cried so much, so hard I still have the headache.

I just wanted to read my book.

Look at the spectacular level of self-absorption demonstrated in this kind of statement. If this woman lived in Pakistan or Iran or Central Africa, I could maybe see where she is coming from, but has there ever been a more coddled, sheltered, or pedestalized creature than the contemporary Western female?
Yes, women deal with some unpleasant shit, but so does just about every human being who has ever drawn breath on this earth. Some of these feminists really seem to believe that just being born with a penis is the golden ticket to a carefree life, as if the average man doesn't face the consequences of his actions, as if the successful man does not fight tooth and nail to get ahead. Of course we know the truth. The only people in who are consistently handed things in life are attractive women and very attractive men.
There is a woman named Norah Vincent who lived as a man for about eighteen months and wrote a book about it. It's called Self-Made Man. I've never read it, but I've read a couple of stories about it and interviews with the woman. Here's what she has to say about her experience:
Quote:If you have never been sexually attracted to women, you will never quite understand the monumental power of female sexuality, except by proxy or in theory, nor will you quite know the immense advantage it gives us over men. Dating women as a man was a lesson in female power, and it made me, of all things, into a momentary misogynist, which I suppose was the best indicator that my experiment had worked. I saw my own sex from the other side, and I disliked women irrationally for a while because of it. I disliked their superiority, their accusatory smiles, their entitlement to choose or dash me with a fingertip, an execution so lazy, so effortless, it made the defeats and even the successes unbearably humiliating. Typical male power feels by comparison like a blunt instrument, its salvos and field strategies laughably remedial next to the damage a woman can do with a single cutting word: no.
That is the kind of raw truth that you will never hear a feminist say. Read it again and see how powerful of a statement it is. This woman got a glimpse into what it's like to be a beta male and look at the impression it left on her. Compare it to the kind of trite shit you read on Jezebel or Huffington Post or all these random Daria wannabes' tumblrs. Feminism is a powerful illusion, but set next to the truth, it's like a spotlight in the noonday sun.

RE: "It’s not my fault I’m pretty."
Reading between the lines of that story, it's pretty clear this girl gets off on harshly rejecting guys, but in this case bit off more than she could chew.
It's really not that difficult for a girl to communicate to a guy that she isn't interested in having a conversation without being a total cunt.
I find it very hard to believe she'd be getting anything close to this kind of reaction from men if she simply said something like, "The book is called _____. My mother-in-law recommended it, my husband and I are both reading it now. I'm actually at a really good part right now, so if you don't mind I'd like to finish up this chapter before my stop."
Then smile and resume reading. Boom. The pickup attempt is stopped dead in its tracks. Of course, being nice and pleasant won't give her the same ego boost she can get from ripping in to a guy.
Which is why I bet she said something more like, "Uhh excuse me? Can't you see that I'm trying to fucking read here? Leave me the fuck alone you creep."
She's probably been doing this for years, reveling in the power she feels rejecting these pathetic beta pickup attempts. Then one guy finally snaps on her, and she freaks out, vomits and nearly has a heart attack.
Just goes to show you how women mostly live in a fantasy land where they can do no wrong. When reality suddenly slaps them in the face and they realize that their actions have consequences, the shock is almost debilitating.
"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” - Romans 8:18
