I don't watch much TV, so I'm hyper sensitive to stupid shit. When you go without it, and the first thing you see is say, Modern Family, it's hard not to be disgusted. Hell, you can't watch any show where guys talk like they're gay or pussy. Revering TV figures is worse than worshiping pro athletes.

As for the specific flaws of Sons of Anarchy, I saw it so long ago... I recall there being constant bitchy drama among the men. There wasn't any sense of progress, development or advancement. Get past the explosions, and it just seemed like never ending feminine feuding. And somehow, it felt like, despite all the action, women were truly at the center of the story, as if they were the reason to fight, and worth dying for. In authentically masculine films, one man rises above his station to accomplish incredible, lasting feats. Or an unlikely rag-tag group of men band together as brothers to achieve something equally remarkable. Spartacus, The Ten Commandments, Carbine Williams. The women play marginal roles in films like these. Watch films with stories like these, and you will realize what utter shit 'Sons of Anarchy' and 'The Unit' is. If you disagree with me, you're wrong jabroni.*

And honestly, I'd rather revere a real accomplished dead man like Porfirio Rubirosa or Charlton Heston than some phony TV character played by a hipster actor.

My biggest beef with the Sons? It's the most unrealistic thing on TV (and that's saying something). You have the queen of the bikers daytiming as a surgeon, and a bunch of outlaws who are as articulate and eloquent as associate professors? Please.

Someone said Jesse Pinkman; love the character and Aaron Paul is amazing playing him, but I don't consider a guy who has spent spells as a slave to meth and shacked up with a recovering addict with a kid to be alpha.

I'd say Leonard is actually the least beta of the main cast of "The Big Bang Theory"; he's more of a herb. Though debating this topic is like asking whose shit smells the best, but there's no way he's more beta than the Indian guy who can't even talk to women. Leonard strikes me as the kind of beta who would start smashing through pussy like the Juggernaut after a few times reading Roosh and Heartiste, whereas the other cast members seem pretty hopeless no matter what. There are a few times in the show where he sees firsthand how being a little cocky, arrogant, and playful turns a girl on, so there is some progress with his character. Plus he has racked up a fairly decent notch count (at least for a beta) throughout the show.

I think women love this show partly because the main cast, or at least Leonard, is a perfect example of the kind of greater beta provider they'd all love to marry at 30 after having their fun in their 20s. Leonard has a decent science research job, he'd be completely devoted to any woman he married, and he doesn't judge Penny at all for her slutty, slutty past. A guy like that fits in perfectly with the modern-day woman's fantasy timeline of life.

Agreed. Sean Connery James Bond movies, Steve McQueen films, anything with Charles Bronson, old school Arnold Schwarzenegger flicks, and Clint Eastwood westerns. Are 100% better than any modern action movie, not because they have great special effects or better production value, but because they were written directed and starred in by actual men.

All the "manly" movies today (sans Jason Statham ones) are written and acted in by a bunch of beta males and metrosexual dudes who, at best, bring a lackluster and forced "masculine" energy to their roles.

I don't know, man. Walter's wife is a gigantic bitch who has very little respect for her husband as the show goes on. Granted, I haven't seen much halway past season 3, but what I did see of her disgusted me and I still don't think he should have put up with the shit he gets from his wife and his son.

That's one of the reasons why I like the show. It shows a realistic depiction of what an average American wife is like, a nagging bitch.

I think what he was referring to was how little respect Walter's wife has for him, not the fact that Walter is dealing meth for his family.
