My rating: 5.5 out of 10.

Okay this town is basically 2nd Tier I would say. There are gringos here but its not super touristy. The town feels pretty clean and tranquil. The size is nice at under a million. I thought it was pretty with small mountains in the background. I chose it because I was hoping to find a chill mid sized city where a white guy could up his game.

I recommend considering couchsurfing.com for this city. I had tons of people contacting me offering places to stay. One chick living with her parents became an issue on couchsurfing, but hey, if you are on a budget, its free.

The main nightlife spot is on the east side of downtown. Its centered on the street called 5 de mayo. Supposedly Thursday is THE night out for singles. I missed it but hit up all the other days, which were okay (except for monday, tuesday, and wednesday (gets a c grade). Overall, the nightlife was pretty weak.

Just south of 5 de Mayo right downtown is a pedestrian street called Libertad. There you will find a bar with a large very old looking wooden door like on a cathedral. The name is Gracias a Dios Cantina I believe. Though there may not be sign. Anyhow it should be easy to find. I found that is seemed to have the best singles scene.

As in much of MExico, a lot of grown women live with their parents. It was kind of a turn off for me, and girls seem a little conservative here.

I day gamed my ass off. SOO many high school girls but sometimes I was bored so I hung out with them some. one of them (who was maybe a 9) invited me to meet her later at a club called Foreplay which was on the edge of the suburbs (taxi ride). This is the Hot spot in town and looked nice from the exterior. She basically flaked when I tried to meet her outside, so I never paid the 100 peso cover and went in (high end clubs are not my preferred territory). There were plenty of hot mamacitas coming out, though it was the typical social circle with guy friend type shit.

Overall I would only recommend Queretaro as a place to live for a while, get to know girls, and date. Only 2 or 3 nights a week are any good at all for bars. I felt happy there, but mainly because its a relaxing peaceful city, almost in a bubble in time. I had moderate interest from girls, so there would be potential for dating, but SNL's would be quite hard for an average Joe like myself. I got tons of accurate contact info from girls and some follow up texting, but I didn't really pursuit because they either were not hot enough for the trouble or were too young (aka high school). Met some college girls but their follow up was weak.

I spent a week in QRO earlier in the year and I'd say you captured it pretty well. It's one of the safest cities in Mexico and the climate is great. The centre is very pleasant and the city has pretty much everything you need, except for DTF females! I pipelined extensively on POF and OKC before going to Mexico and I got just one bang! Ok, I'm an older guy but I speak conversational Spanish and my looks are reasonable, I dress well etc. This is a very conservative part of the country and it's full of good girls who live with their extended family. I went to a nightclub (can't remember the name - some kind of biker/Harley theme going on) with four girls in their 20s and they spent most of their time taking photos of each other for Facebook. They didn't dance (no dancefloor), they didn't talk to strangers, just stuck in our little group around our table, and everyone else there did the same. Social circle is everything there. They said I was a really cool guy, which was nice to hear, but the panties were not coming off.

Well I think the following is obvious to me and most folks who I have talked to, as well as other posters: To get with most mexican girls you need to either date them for awhile until you are accepted by the group/family as a boyfriend, or get them isolated away from their group. My usual plan is to try to hang out with them alone and then use the excuse of playing them my favorite song on my computer (in my hotel room). The other night there was a girl who was very direct and putting her arms all over me right as we just met. I should have tried to bounce with her when her friends went honme, I think she would have been down. That was in Guad though, not Queretaro. But for the most part, you need a second date to nail things. Did you ever try to follow up with any girls in Qto ?

In QRO I saw three girls three times each and another couple of them twice. The only one up for sex had lived in Anglo countries for a while, so wasn't a typical Mexican chica. Maybe another one would have gone for it but I didn't fancy her.
I forgot to say that when we were in the club, a Mexican guy in his 20s started to game our group hard with card tricks. He had them pretty engrossed, but when he tried to isolate his target the other girls did major cockblocking. The target seemed like a party girl (short dress barely covering her ample rump and quite sexual in her photo poses), she was drunk and she clearly liked the guy, but she obeyed the other girls and left him. Sex-negative attention whores abound there.

Never been back there. If I were you I would do work the social circle and weekends at the bars. You could daygame but be careful about being seen as overally agressive (be discreet) as its a small town and you don't want a bad rep. Perhaps use the fact that you can exchange language lessons with the girl as a reason to have her come over to your place.

I imagine dressing very well and looking the part of an english teacher could help (nice, modern adult clothes). Perhaps even carry an english/spanish dictionary.

After perusing several of the threads here on Mexico, it appears to me that one avenue for meeting women is being missed, and that is the young women working in the service industry. Every time I've been to Mexico, I've encountered many beautiful young women working as waitresses in the restaurants where I eat at, bartending at the bars I go to, housekeeping or working the desk in the hotel where I stay, clerking in the stores where I shop, or working in whatever job at the airport.

The local girl that I spent the night with in Cancun was a bartender in the hotel where I was staying. My Dad, uncle, and sister were sharing my suite in the hotel, so she actually took me to her apartment in a run-down area of the town way out away from the tourist area. She even allowed herself to get in trouble with the hotel because, for some reason, she took me through the staff area of the hotel to get to the taxi stand. I think it was because she wasn't allowed to use the guest entrance.

Anyway, when I visited DF and Ensenada I was with girlfriends. So, when we went to nightclubs together I just sat there and observed what was going on and it seemed to me that none of the dudes were having any success at all picking up girls. All the girls were in big groups and completely ignored the guys trying to ask them to dance.

Hey just thought I'd update this thread because I'll be spending three weeks in Queretaro at the beginning of January.

I have completely neglected learning Spanish all my life to focus on another language that I use every day for my job, music.

However now that I'm going to Mexico, I've decided I should learn a second language and I'm learning a lot of Spanish again daily although I don't think I will be able to hold down a conversation in Spanish by January yet.

So any advice for people with limited Spanish in Mexico would be appreciated. And of course if anyone is around and wants to meet up that would be even better also.

Hopefully I'll have some interesting stuff to write about Queretaro in this thread.

I've never been to Queretaro, but knowing that you'll face an uphill battle in Mexico City without at least a decent level of conversational Spanish, I imagine it being the same up north, if not worse. In DF there are (at least) a few spots where you are guaranteed to meet hipster girls who will usually be very eager to speak with you in English, even if their level is close to non-existent. Queretaro is not a small city though, so you should be able to come across people who speak English decently. Not many, but a couple/few, sure.

Spanish is fortunately not the hardest language to learn, and if you consistently practice the language for say an hour a day, you'd be surprised at how much progress you can make until January. Before coming here (apart from studying intensively), I started listening to songs in Spanish, reading El Pais instead of The Guardian, watching Latin American movies--you get the idea. Made me hit the ground running.

So try to learn it as much as you can; it will make your three weeks infinitely more enjoyable. And learn the phrases Mexicans use. You'll become a hit in no time.

Been to DF 5 times and encountered many girls who speak perfect English not mention all the transplants there from all over the world. Also it's easy to pull there you can walk in and out of 10 different bars until you spark up a good convo.

I read all the info on here about Guadalajara before trying that city and the comments mirrored QRO except GDL has hotter woman. Useful info about where to go. GDL was great,, woman are DTF and fun. Was there 5 days and banged 2 chicks multiple times. One of them was so cool I'll be flying her out to TJ in March.

I don't really have a desire to go to QRO, it would be very down on the list over some other cities I haven't visited yet.

Overall I can't subscribe to this conservative diatribe from Mexico.

I live in QRO at present. Wouldn't recommend it for game - poor nightlife for one. It's also bigger than it feels, and too many of the cool people live out in Juriquilla which is a long and expensive cab ride from the center. If you like Texas-style endless urban sprawl, QRO might be right up your alley. The above comment about similar culture to Guadalajara but hotter girls there is correct.

On the plus side, Queretaro has great weather, is safe, and relatively close to the capital. Still, there's better options in Mexico for shorter-term travel. I haven't found there to be all that much English here either, so Spanish is highly recommended.

I wanted to give this a bump. The town might be shit, but Tínder here is real. You won't see many gringos, but the interest level here is high from the start. I find, me as a gringo walking into offices and holding conversations with their staff etc just brings it out. A lot of those chicks are just wetting themselves. To me it feels like Latin America in the 90s. If any of you were down there then, you know of what I speak.

Spanish is good to have, but if you play the fell off the gringo truck online, you will get hits. Sadly, I wouldn't come here if it were not for work.
