What is a good response to this scenario?
You are out in public with a girl you are seeing, and an older woman (maybe 15-30 years older than you) stops you both and tells you that your girl is beautiful and that you should hold onto her because shes a keeper.

The first time this happened to me, I didn't think of anything clever to say, and went with the obvious (and possibly/probably beta) response of thanking her and agreeing with her that she was beautiful. Thinking back, I questioned myself on whether I took a page out of the Complement and Cuddle playbook.

On the other hand, I could not think if a good tease or neg that wouldn't imply some kind of insecurity on my own part. When it happened again a couple weeks later, I was still unprepared. By agreeing with the older lady, was I inflating the girls ego and putting her on a pedestal?

But any kind of attempt to think of something clever that would imply I thought she was lucky to be with me just seemed to be off.

A third possible solution would be some sort of agreeing and amplifying to a ridiculous level, like thanking her and then telling her I'm taking her to a photoshoot because shes a supermodel and I need spending money.

I'm sure this scenario has happened to multiple people here, what do you think is a good response?

I like this to an extent. Normally I would save this harsh of a tease for a hot girl I haven't banged, I'm not sure how it would go off with someone who I already am banging. Has this situation happened to you before and have you used it? Or are you just brainstorming?

Here's a response suggested by Roissy when someone says "you make a nice couple" or something similar

Pause, look at the floor, rub the back of your neck thoughtfully and say "Yeaah" in an annoyed tone

The purpose is to instill dread in the girl as to the status of your relationship

Anytime someone gives a compiment, just say "thank you".

I’d rather be far right, than far wrong!

Just brainstorming. But I don't think it's that harsh if you deliver it lightly.

Agreed. You can be normal. A big part of being emotionally unreactive is to not be affected by compliments or insults. A shit test shouldn't rattle you and a compliment shouldn't have your ego up in the clouds.

Usually I just say thank you. They usually go away. If they're being weird about it, look at your girl and give her an expression like "that was weird". If they're persistent and won't leave I ask them politely to please mind their own business.

However, if you're in a playful mood, the "she has her moments" is great also. Just whatever comes naturally, really. If it seems try-hard, it's worse than saying nothing at all.

I think how you react to the older woman is irrelevant. What matters is how you interact with your girl, even afterward if nothing brilliant comes to mind as a quick playful reply. What matters are two things: 1) avoid pedestalization 2) avoid your girl's ego get inflated.
After all, SHE got the compliment.
I would playfully joke about the compliment with my girl.

For instance, once I was out in a lounge with my date a solid 8.5, when a random couple (25-30 years old - they were on a date too) that was sitting at a table close to ours asked "Sorry to interrupt, but we were wondering about you two, is this a first date?"
My chick enthusiastically responded "Yes."
I responded with a smirk "Definitely last."
It helped to set the right vibe between me and her, that was the only real thing that mattered to me.
