Boards Of Canada. Chill as fuck.




Circle Of Contempt. Awesome metal(core)




Devin Townsend. This guy doesn't get anywhere near the amount of mainstream recognition he deserves. Check out his album "Ziltoid the omniscient" for mass lulz and some awesome tunes.




Ensiferum. I don't listen to them so much anymore, but their folk metal style is awesome.




Fourplay. Somewhat successful career, but I don't know anyone in person that's actually heard of them.




Gallows. Just awesome. This particular song gets the Alpha song of the year vote from me.




The Human Abstract. Simply amazing metal.




Impellitteri. Another band that seems successful, yet no one has actually heard of them.




John 5. Former guitarist for Marilyn Manson in a solo project. Some pretty cool stuff in there




Kyuss. Some awesome stoner rock




Laaz Rockit. Awesome thrash metal.




Mastodon. Some of the most intense imagery and fucked up fantasies ever conceived in their album "Crack The Skye." Most of their other stuff is also great.




Norma Jean. One of my favourite hardcore/punk bands.




Opeth. No matter what style of music you enjoy the most, you'll find something to like about opeth. They range from end to end on the musical spectrum.




Porcupine Tree. Awesome chilled out, sometimes ambient, rock.




Quo Vadis. Limited selection for 'Q' bands, but this band is definitely worthy of this list.




Russian Circles. Really have their own instrumental sound.




Sall Williams. Not sure how underground this guy is, but I only discovered him recently. Amazing stuff.




T.A.T.U. Not underground, but who doesn't like Russian faux-lesbian-schoolgirls?




Unearth. Awesome thrashy metal. Would do better without the *core influences, but eh, still a great band.




Venus Trapeze. Band I haven't heard much of, but came across on Triple J - Australias "up and coming bands" station. Pretty awesome stuff.




Wintersun. Pretty cool folky style metal.




Xamplify. Another band from Triple J. Not my favourite band on this list..




Yakuza. Progressive/Experimental/Stoner rock. Some pretty cool stuff.




Zonaria. Balls to the wall, melodic death metal.

There's a band from my library for every letter of the alphabet. I tried to pick the less mainstream ones, without resorting to stuff that I don't actually like (not possible with some letters).

Haha the dude from G's to Gents on MTV. When I first heard him I didn't like him but his songs have grown on me. He's like Paul Wall combined with Cam'Ron.
